Surprising results I must say, even though it’s 25k more, that hybrid made it look like child’s play, I am impressed coming from a GM fan here in moderately flat Indiana. I would live to test one of those F150 hybrids for myself a week or two and do videos. TFL has such awesome videos, so glad they tell the truth even after being shunned by some manufacturers. I love my 2010 GMC but have been looking at all Detroit manufacturers as of lately to decide what I’m buying next, even considering what Toyota may come out with. At the moment: Ford, a TRX, and the still to come next gen Tundra have my interests peaked. But still, what is GM hiding to release in 2021 on the Silverado or Sierra, who knows, so much to come, all this is so exciting for a 45yo man with a very good income to spare on the most bad ass truck coming out. It’s going to be hard to beat the TRX and F150 Raptor (and hybrid), can’t wait.

@@Luke28_01 Price was high because of the trim, not the powertrain. Powerboost is available on a 45K XLT trim. The half-ton diesels are substantially down on power, to the tune of 150HP, so not sure why you think times be would closer. Brake applications maybe, but going up? The diesels would lose for sure. @Luke28_014 жыл бұрын
@@jghall00 mhm yes it would still loose but as I remember them saying the power post is only available in upper trims unlike the diesel. So therefore to get a speced diesel would be cheaper. Also no one is cross-shopping a 77,000 truck and 55,000 truck. Also reliability of those engines and cost of repair has not been established which I can assume will not be cheap by any means. That old 5.3 actually did great against the eco-boost... only a 15 second difference... I would rather have the v8 any day of the week.
@Tjspycorp4 жыл бұрын
The 10 second difference is that the Chevy was basically maxed out on pulling power. Cruise control wouldn’t keep it at the speed limit. Where as the Ford was nearly effortlessly pulling the load it was being asked to. The Ford probably could have done the same test at 70-75 as well, and would be able to overtake someone doing 58mph in a reasonable amount of time, unlike the Chevy in this particular case. 10 seconds means a lot on this test.

@@1coolvideo hm that could be a good point, it would be nice if ford had an official explanation for how exactly the rekuperation in that truck works, and if there are settings for them, because I know that the VW E-Golf had a little nob to adjust rekuperation, whilst newer VAG vehicles start rekuperation when you brake, whilst tesla just sets it on max all the time so depending on how ford has done it, that could be a big selling point for the hybrid.
