@@liteflightifythe way I see it is that (factoring in later seasons too) ross as a PERSON, I don’t like. if he was a real guy I would stay as far away as possible. as a CHARACTER, he is comedic gold. I think the writers realised the audience wasn’t too fond of him and started using him as a scapegoat for unhinged plotlines and unlikeable moments so I try not to be too harsh. david’s performance also knocks it out of the park every time. ross is 100% my favourite character but again, he’s really not the best guy 😭

I have no idea why people are taking opinions seriously enough to get mad at people for liking or disliking certain characters. It baffles me that people do that. Enjoy what you enjoy, have fun with what you have fun with, appreciate what you appreciate. The show is full of characters who are full of rough edges and slowly mature as the show goes on (as would happen with anybody over 10 years). I don't think there's any good or bad guys in this. If anybody is giving you trouble for your opinions, that's ridiculous. I've seen other reactors end up being turned off from the show because people were so mad at different things that they said or whatever that they decided they had no safe way to react & just kind of phoned it in for 3 or 4 seasons. I can't believe that people are that harsh. I hope we just continue to see your natural reactions, because that's the whole point isn't it?!

One of the notable things about this show is that, as opposed to most sitcoms of that time, the guests & cameos were treated like any other actor in terms of creating a character for them to play... except for Robin Williams & Billy Crystal. They were the only two who were allowed to basically hijack the show away from the main cast.

It's become trendy to view their relationship as toxic, but they all lose sight of the fact that they are human beings and that this is a sitcom. When I watched Friends in real time when the seasons were originally airing, I took David Schwimmer for granted. I don't know what my problem was back then. But now, this second go round 25 years later, I can't get enough of him and can't believe I didn't appreciate the dedication and sheer commitment by Schwimmer week to week for a solid decade without ever mailing it in once, not one time. Now I get him and the talent behind the performance and that David was a comedic genius and Ross was his masterpiece. The best part, the part I really respect Schwimmer for is he played Ross as the flawed, sometimes truly incredulously unlikable, shades of grey three dimensional imperfect human being who in any one else's hands would be despised and loathed, but David manages to still make redeemable and someone we root for and continue to find engaging and winsome despite his questionable actions and feet of clay. It's an incredible tightrope walk that he pulled off ten years straight keeping that perfect balance walking that thin line, seemingly hanging on by a thread where any moment could be the tipping point and it all comes crashing down. I feel like Aniston had the same degree of difficulty high wire act she nailed effortlessly and made look easy the incredibly tricky role of Rachel Greene who is actually written as a very unrelatable, unlikable Queen bee Karen of all hives yet Jennifer is so charming and charismatic in the part she makes the character seem naturally delightful and endlessly appealing. It's no small feat or coincidence that when these two share scenes as these two very complex characters, their dynamic together is electric and seems to transcend the medium and material becoming something amazingly sublime.

I'm so glad you're not letting people's comments affect what you personally think about the characters and how you really feel about them. I hope it stays that way because I know that just a few words can make you go from liking a character to disliking them. Anyway, you're not alone in shipping Ross and Rachael. A lot of people love their relationship despite how rocky it may be and want them to end up together (including me). Besides, I think Ross is hilarious and has a lot of iconic moments in the show, which is why he is my favorite character, so I hope you don't let what people say sway your opinion of him. I love you guys' reactions and part of the reason why is because you're honest and don't try to sugar-coat things. If anybody gets offended, it's their problem and isn't something you should worry about or apologize for.

That is typical for medicine people. Once I cut the finger totally badly. Before doing or saying anything else, the pharmacist called all her collegues to show them... I was in pain and did not what to do. Only later they took care of that. Even days later: "Hey, look, there she goes the one with the cutted finger! How does it look now? Can you show us?!" 😅 The bold thing always made me think that Rachel and Ross are, at least here, bad people: She tricks her, he dumps her for her looks only.

I loved it, especially for R/R. Ross needed to end things with Bonnie yes, but I was not under the impression she was his "girlfriend" they were just casually dating. I know he called her that but idk, I felt like it was just a quick way to phrase things. "you balded the girl i am casually dating!" just doesn't have the right punch lol.
