Coach has the best leather lotion cleaner. I use it on all of my bags. Chanel and Hermes won’t tell you to use anything because they don’t want you to preserve your bags they want you to buy new bags.

Coach boutiques treated me with more respect and appreciation as a customer than any other “Luxury” store. LV, Chanel, Hermes all turn their noses up at me most of the time. I had one coach sales associates that really gave me the 5 star treatment. At the Flagship NYC and soho store. They even offered free bag spa for any coach bags. Try that at Chanel and they won’t even take any care or responsibility for their low quality bags.

Coach is so tricky. Once I saw the quilted heart was better quality than the Chanel heart (Jenee Naylor) I got curious and bought a tabby. It's was better quality than my new classic flap. I don't believe all of their bags are that amazing but I'm blown away by that specific level. It was worth the 550 price tag over 7k at Chanel.

Have several Coach bags, and for the price, they are outstanding. Use your eyes of course, and be careful with outlets if it’s made from outlets, but my most used one is a Cassie 19 with the mixed leathers with the studs, that I have used now more then 450 days… and I have no visual wear on it even now, one or two scratches, but minimum - after 450+ days of actual use in daily life…

you're so right...I grew up in the 1980's in Manhattan, Coach was one of the most high end leather brands you could get back then. You would make an appointment at the NYC store which was literally a real atelier back then, a showroom factory. It was definitely a specific style like preppy or Polo Ralph Lauren, not more fancy, elegant designs like Channel, Gucci etc but on par or superior quality..... I still have a saddle belting leather messenger satchel and brief case I use regularly both are from 1988. Sounds like Coach sold out and makes crap now.

As a Coach collector for over 30 years I wouldn’t consider Coach a “luxury” brand but more of a “Premium” brand. The boutique items are superb

The Coach Boutique is absolutely luxury, despite what any snobs may say or think. I own pieces from the typical, common “luxury brands” such as LV, Chanelle, and Dior. Let me tell you my Coach Rogue all leather bags (I own several) surpasses any of my LV or Dior bags I own. The craftsmanship on my Coach leather bags are superior, the detail on them is outstanding!

Coach is mid-range luxury. Similar leather to high end and often better workmanship. Costs about the same to make. They just are charging closer production cost.

Every time I go to the outlets I look for the items that are considered last year’s stock, not the items that are made specifically for the outlet. If you ask the sales associate most times they will tell you which is which but yes that is true. You can tell the difference in quality at the Coach store which bags are made for the outlets , the leather is different.

I’ve always considered Coach a higher quality mid range brand (not luxury). My experience with Coach outlets is that they often have pieces with mistakes out for sale: crooked stitching, wonky hardware, patterns not being matched up at the seams, etc. It is very obvious at a glance why some merchandise has been marked down. And we all know that a mess is not a deal - even at 70% off. Love listening to you, Dacob. ❤️

It is rare that the handbags in the Coach store appear in the Outlet Coach stores. The quality of the handbags in the Outlet stores are different from regular Coach handbags. I love Coach bags, particularly the pebble leather bags. Vintage Coach bags are AMAZING. I wish that they would go back to making their bags like the vintage ones.

I’ve gotten Coach boutique bags on the online Reserve section in the Coach Outlet. They also have a small section of boutique items in the outlet store. I’ve also gotten my Coach boutique bags at Dilliards, Neiman Marcus and Macys for a discounted price. I also own Coach outlet bags and they are practical and beautiful. I agree with everything as far as trendy items, for example if you really love the iconic Coach Pillow Tabby consider the smaller version of it like I did cause the style was more important to me then the size, plus I also waited for a sale. The price adjustment (at least at coach) meaning if an item goes on sale within a week or two of purchase you can provide the receipt showing g it was purchased within the time frame and they will refund you the difference

Yep - ALL bags I buy are put through "The Test"...... I empty the bag or clutch I carry into the store, and ensure EVERYTHING from this bag fits into the bag I want to buy by putting the items into the prospective purchase. I also have tests for genuine leather, I check the inside, and give priority to bags having feet and overall hardware quantity. I do have leather and especially suede protectors and cleaners. I also use a good cobbler that handles handbags.

About the price adjustment, Coach won't contact you about it, but if a bag goes on sale within like a week of your purchase, they'll do a price adjustment for it. I don't think they do this at the outlet, just the boutique. Of course, the big luxury brands don't go on 'sale'. Hmm, this makes me wonder, what about luxury brands a little lower on the pyramid, like Ferragamo. They had some stuff on sale on their website a little while ago, I think ...

Leather care depends on the finish of it. Coated leather definitely doesn’t need much of anything. Canvas can easily be wiped down with very diluted soap water. I’ve cleaned many vintage LV like this. Untreated vachetta leather needs leather moisturizer. That will darken it though, obviously, but it also makes it water stain resistant

I’ll buy Coach in leather and Louis Vuitton in canvas. The name means less to me than the look, feel and quality. Name brands are not “Luxury” to me. But if a Canvas bag can call itself luxury than let the leather bag do the same. Coach used to be called Luxury, and I think they deserve to come back into that line if they choose.

I think COACH is absolutely luxury. Their prices reflect most standard luxury brands. Their stores are definitely upscale compared to regular retail stores. Just because some people don’t like COACH, doesn’t make it true.

I use some leather cleaning and renewing products, but I don’t buy them at the shops I buy shoes or bags. They are too overpriced, it’s completely enough to buy products from Amazon, lots of different options, you can choose what is right for your pocket.

Coach was founded in 1941 as a high end leather goods brand. Around 2004, I had tried to exchange a gifted wristlet at the Coach store in Dadeland Mall in Miami, and I was informed in a very embarrassing way by the Coach associate that they wouldn't accept my wristlet because the packaging and item was from the outlet, and she pushed the box back at me with a pen. I left speechless to the outlet in Dolphin Mall and received my credit. I gave the credit to my sister who used it well, and I never, ever went back.

I used to love Coach until one experience at their boutique. I chose two bags I liked and was about to pay, when the sales associate said if I give them my credit card number now, but pick up the bags next week, they would give me 30% off promotion that they would be running that week. I did everything they told me, came back the following week to pick up my bags and was told the more expensive bag was not part of the promotion. I asked them why wouldn't they have told me that the week before and sold it to me then, they said it was a mistake. I asked if they'd honor the 30% since it was them who insisted on me waiting till next week. They said no. I cancelled the purchase and never went back. It was 8 years ago. Never owned Coach since then.

It in my opinion, outlets can break the spell and cheapen the experience of having a luxury piece. And, if the outlet is cheaper stuff, then i am not interested. Agree, I just won't buy non-practical--i am too old for that. It has to work or what's the point. and, proportion is import and also important is my look - does it work for my style? i am not fancy, i love lush and quality, so weird pieces are fun, but they aren't me. I am a crossbody now -- i work a lot and am clumsy so i don't need my bags falling on the ground or fall off a table when i am shopping. I connect to trends though - and i love when a trend is something that is in my wheelhouse. i like real trends, not flash-in-the pan trends.

I havent seen very many Coach bags in my lifetime, but I would compare it to juicy couture based on the styles I can recall seeing. (Except the colors are different, coach has more neutral tones and juicy couture is obviously pink and more extraverted looking) I love them both, something about them feels similar. I would even say the same for the perfumes, juicy couture is more extroverted coach tries to blend in more.

Many CIA h bags are better quality and better workmanship than some of the recent LV and Chanel bags I’ve seen. Wonky stitching, lopsided flaps, flaws in the leather- not on coach bags but on so called ‘higher end’ bags. Prices have gone through the roof for mass produced nonsense and anyone spending thousands on bags produced now needs their head examining.
