I've honestly spent the whole day from 3:00 PM to 10:00PM watching every one of the 28 USA WCT video's and I liked a lot of players, Apex became one of my fav teams when I saw them pelting it through the arena. But I really enjoyed seeing Dayvid do his thing, genuinely going from his first name spelling to how he took the hit to his ear this episode I really just admired the guy. I even took a break and went outside to start jumping over my fence and raised patio. Seeing the end of this episode and seeing that Dayvid is gone from the world as I just discovered who he was has sorta devastated me even though I've not even known who he was for 12 hours. The man has left an imprint on me, and I'm planning on taking up free-running as something I do because of that imprint. Gods bless Dayvid and 5Borough, great man and a great team.

Quick clarification this was all completed back on October so I don't remember everything perfectly, but as WCT said she is definitely still on the team here. While our captain Wenxin was there to help choose who went in it was heavily dependent on who felt ready to hop in. At no point did any of us tell her not to go in, but I don't remember her saying she was ready to go. I've talked her about it and she doesn't remember either. I'm sorry it's not the best answer but Frank and I talked a little about it in the Group D livestream. But I know for a fact she does still have some chases to be seen so be ready for those 🤙

I saw this title and knew it would be an amazing match! I loved both of these teams during the group stages! It seems like APKG have figured out a strategy: have Mark, Ethan, and Frank carry you through the tough matches. It sounds rude to say that, but those three each played twice before anyone else went once except Jay, who immediately conceded an evasion. In the end, Ethan was put in four times, Mark thrice, Frank twice, Jay and Wenxin once each, and Ashlee remains benched. I'm not sure what the long-term implications of this strategy are, but they're taking advantage of the lax fair-play WCT rules by doing this. I don't think I like it, but it will work for a while from a competitive standpoint. 5B played very well, and I think their loss comes down to minor mistakes in individual chases and from them not really having a hard carry at evading like most of the top teams have. Deyvid did very well, he looked fast and confident on the quad after that first evasion, and confidence is an underrated factor on the quad. I was shocked and saddened to hear what happened to him. Possibly the defining moment of the match, the one where I went "ooooh, I think it's over", was 10:49. Luciano here makes a very risky move, going all-in on his chaser deciding to go toward the Ridge and preemptively dodging toward that side to make a swipe. But Mark doesn't go that way. I don't know if that was calculated on his part, but it made Luciano's all-in gambit completely whiff. If he had gone toward the Ridge, I suspect he would've been tagged by that maneuver. As far as I can tell, neither Luciano or 5B have tried that particular dive before, so I don't think it was the result of scouting the enemy (although I would be overjoyed if it were, as scouting is very underrated in most non-mainstream sports). Well played by both teams. This was a close and *mostly* clean game with just one minor error usually causing a tag or an evasion. However, the good teams capitalize on minor errors the opponent makes. The *great* teams *force* mistakes or make plays. That was something we only saw a select few times this match.

Yup, APKG's teams is definitely inconsistent in level, but that's a good way to bring and train new players to the game, especially as this season is a bit special with the covid situation =) I feel like letting the best athletes play most of the late matches is a good choice here so that you're not forced to create a few elite teams, it's probably fine with everybody for this season
@jonhanson89253 жыл бұрын
Leaning on your best players is good strategy, but I feel like it takes away some of the appeal as a "team sport." Imagine what basketball would be like if you could keep changing around the lineup to bring your best sluggers back to the plate. Then again, it was fun seeing the instant rematch in this game.

Great content ! Thank you There might be ton of reasons but why don't you do it in Best Of 3 games ? This would be so amazing with such great teams
@WorldChaseTag3 жыл бұрын
For the simple reason that there is a limit to how many chases a single athlete or team can do in any given period. Best of 3 matches means we'll have to either increase the squad size or reduce the number of teams. It's a difficult trade off.
