Speaking from a builder perspective Tom and appreciate getting the cows in for the Winter is a high priority but don’t be tempted to do it too early. Bringing them in before the work is finished will dramatically slow the build process down and in the long term, you will regret it. Let the builder finish, then move in. For all that - it’s looking good!

This is very wise advice, finish a job before you admire a job, don’t “leave it for later” that shed will be there in 100 years, and the biggest regret i believe people always have is they wish they didn’t rush their projects

Tom, mate. Make sure you either press your foot, hand or write in that cement/concrete. Its there for decades..... I recently moved into a house and I was cutting back Ivy from a fence line. It exposed some concrete foundation where some lads/lasses had put their hand prints and a date from 37 years previous. Was awesome to discover. Just imagine someone discovering your mark 30+ year's in the future. Could be your kid, or grandchild. Lol.

So exciting to see it all come together, bit by bit, Tom! What a humongous project. It’s so impressive to see how joints meet exactly, walls slot in perfectly and generally a myriad different measurements all combine to make a whole new much more comfortable cow house for your milking ladies! It must be a bit Hairy McClairy at times, 😲 but how wonderful that you are surrounded by what looks like a great bunch of happy, helpful and expert professionals focused on getting you the best possible job done! That rosey glow you’re going to feel when things finally all fit together is going to be pretty amazing. Thank you for sharing this fascinating project. I’m loving it, love hearing your thought-wheels whirring away as you film. Take time to unwind every now and then…….. ☀️ Ummmm……🧘🏼♂️🧘🏼♀️……

We are not here to mainly learn to construct sheds, but to see a farmer life in all its glory and gore. A lot of things happening at once, unexpected delays, weather and life is part of reality. Keep it going as you are:) A video on the lighting etc is interesting, but this kind of video shows the life of a farmer willing to invest money and sweat in the future.

Super to see progress on the new shed, can imagine the pressure with winter fast approaching and cow to house. Construction tends to go in steps, it doesn't appear to be making progress,.then suddenly you take a huge step forward. It's always all the little things that have to get finishes to bring it all together. You'll take a step back once it's complete and realise what you've achieved. Well done.

You guys were fairly brave backing that concrete truck over those old slats! Not being critical, but I don't know is it wise to be spending (wasting!) so much time going for such an ultra smooth finish on the surface of the concrete when it's only going to be covered over with matts after. Especially when time is so short

Hi Tom. I see you are using plastic cubicles. Fantastic choice. We fitted them too. Our cows have no rub marks and are very confutable in them. The only downside is that the cows can turn around In them and a few cows will lye in them the wrong way around. This makes a little more work in cleaning the beds as they leave muck at the wrong end. But there are much better for the cows.
