Also with these extreme police controlls, it doesn't make any fun anymore to modify your car the way you like it, because even if you got TÜV certified by spending thousands of Euros, some **familyfriendlycomment**hole police officer will still impound your car. The worst thing about that is, that these police officers have absolutely no clue what they are doing and often even impound perfectly legal cars.

Nice video. At least 3 corrections to be made here though: 1. You actually CAN do any modifications even with non-approved parts but you need to get a "Einzelabnahme". This means you need to go to a certified inspector who checks if your vehicle is safe to use in public traffic. 2. When you certify your suspension the certified height is the minimum height. You don't need to get it certified again when you go up, only when you go further down. 3. Never go to TÜV, they are the most expensive and most restrictive inspectors. There are many other licensed inspectors. TÜV is just like Nutella a synonym for the technical inspection because the organisation "TÜV" was the first doing this and a monopoly for a long time.
@Delzra5 жыл бұрын
id like to add that the "Einzelabnahme" is pretty much what Australians know as "engineering". Your car goes there and someone looks at what shitty mods you did to it :D

I had a e46 BMW 3.0CI all black and got stopped twice a day most days and eventually got a little Vauxhall Adam to commute as the BMW costs too much to commute 30 miles a day in and now I don't get pulled over even when I do 5-10mph over the speed limit while passing police. It feels like I could drive like a nob but they'll let me off because it's not a drug dealers car

I was standing next to them with roughly 10gs in my boxers. But no, racial profiling isn't a thing in Germany! No wonder people are getting more and more annoyed by the cops. Beautiful video guys! I had sold my 96 Mustang GT (Profile Picture) and bought a Toyota Corolla for fuel economy, due to my 100 mile (160 kilometers) daily drive to and from work each day. I've missed the power my Mustang had, but love the fuel economy the Corolla has, and that's lead me to want to find another car that'll perform well, and can be modified. I've been trying to get my hands on a MK7 GTI for 2 years now, I've got very specific specifications that must be met for me to purchase one, and have had 3 swiped out from under me due to sales people selling them while I'm in the midst of negotiations with another sales person. It's very upsetting. But these videos are great, I love them. They bring me a sense of joy and just make me want a GTI that much more. Once I saw the Golf R you did, that beautiful white, I had to have a white GTI, so that's one of my Specifications, because of you. Keep the videos coming, they're fantastic!

In the USA, a traffic stop like this would result in the driver refusing to ID them self claiming to be a " Sovereign Citizen " that does not need a license because they are " Traveling " not Driving " . After much discussion the police would then break out the drivers window and extract the driver. . . . . . .If the police told the passengers they looked like drug dealers, the occupants would sue the police for profiling. You can mod a car with parts that don't have a TÜV certificate, but it has to be checked by an TÜV Engineer, then. (TÜV = Technischer Überwachungsverein // Association for Technical Inspection). Also every car has to be checked by the TÜV every 2 years. Everything gets checked: brakes, suspension, engine, exhaust, rust damage, tires and so on. If you don't pass the check, you have to repair your car. Otherwise you are not allowed to drive on public roads anymore. Because of that everyone keeps his car in a more or less good condition and there are very few rustbuckets on our streets. Even old cars often are in a good shape. Quite a contrast to the americans for exammple. I'm shocked everytime i see a 15 year old american car fucked up so badly that you can't recognize it anymore. Just doesn't happen here ... imagine american junk on the autobahn ... where we drive around with well over 200km/h. The TÜV is one part of the system that makes save driving without a speedlimit even possible.
