I made it through a vacation and only gained a pound and stayed KETO for the full week. I'd love to hear how you deal with other people and their comments. For instance, I'd checked ahead the menu of the place my friend insisted she wanted to go, and saw they had mussels and a parm crusted cod. I had also spoiled my dinner, by having a couple slices of prosciutto and a handful of nuts before we left the condo. When we got there we ordered mussels for the table along with a carb heavy app and when I asked if the cod crust was just parm or it it contained flour, my friend commented, "oh for heavens sake, how much flour could there be?" and when she said it was breaded and then parmed, and I asked if the chef could eliminate that step, the waitress came back and said no, the cod had all been breaded already. I said, ok, then, I'm not very hungry anyway, I'll just have some of the mussels and be fine. My friend just wouldn't let it go. Finally, I said, "Jacqui, just stop. I'm fine, I've made my choice, I'm sticking with this. Leave me alone." and she did, but my snapping back at her put a damper on the night. I've love to hear more about how you handle social situations like these.

After my cancer diagnosis last August I did prolonged fasting around my chemo treatments and lost about 10 pounds. The fasting really helped. The doctors and nurses were so surprised at how well I handled the treatments. After finishing chemo, however, I gained 12 lbs. Like you, I still ate low carb but just too often. I’ve started back doing intermittent fasting, increased my protein, and exercise more regularly. I’ve lost 8 lbs. Life is hard sometimes. You girls make it better. Thank you. By the way, after 6 months of chemo and two surgeries, I am cancer free. ❤

I'm 69. I've put on 20 pounds in the past year, most of it in the last 6 months. My husband's and senior little dog's health issues became my world. Add work stress into that and what i ate became the last thing I concerned myself with. Husband is doing well, little dog crossed the Rainbow Bridge, and work has settled down. It's time to make myself a priority again.

I'm 73 and I can't find anyone who talks about this age group. January 2019 I weighed 203# at 5'1". I got down to 129# by the end of the year. Lots of stresses in the fall but I was ok. Then I discovered Carnivore. I'm now about 149#. What's the difference? I eat too much. That's not supposed to be an issue on carnivore. Belly fat!!! I hate belly fat. So I started watching more of Dr. Westman and got his book "End the Carb Confusion". Cutting back on protein...just a little....adding veggies. I don't feel as bloated but I'm afraid to hit the scale. Oh btw...cold butter is awesome. Now I'm addicted to that. Life isn't easy or fair. You gals are strong, intelligent and beautiful. Keep up the good work and good fight.

I love this video. I'm an old retired RN/farmer, and NEVER in my adult life was able to eat 3 meals a day. The ONLY times I ate 3 meals a day was when I was a child and in school. In the months off school we all worked on the farm full time with our parents. We almost always had breakfast, but the rest of the day might have time to wolf down a sandwich or little snack to get through the day. Taking care of livestock, crops, and equipment came first. Now that I'm retired, I STILL don't eat 3 meals a day. I eat once or maybe twice a day when I'm hungry, and like you, it's usually a quick, easy to fix protein and veggie. Thank you SO MUCH FOR BEING REAL ABOUT LIFE AND FOOD!!!

You two are not alone! Several people, including me, have put on about 15 lbs., give or take. I am 66, 5'4" and weigh about 178. At my lowest I was 165, after starting Keto at 270 in Sept. 2020, with my heaviest as I know it was about 290 (probably more). I have maintain this loss with the exception of this 13 lbs that I would like to lose and a bit more. What keeps me motivated are the health benefits, those non-scale victories. For me, I am off blood pressure meds after 50+ years on them beginning as a teenager. That is huge for me! You've got this for sure, I love watching you both.

I hate to say it because I hate eggs for the most part. But when I get in a weight loss stall, all I have to do is make deviled eggs. I can eat 2 halves with half an avocado and be full all day long. I lose weight daily and by using a different spice for each batch, I keep it interesting and they are quite good. I top some with dill, some with curry powder (my favorite) and some with smoked paprika. I am gonna make some tomorrow but mix in the avocado with the filling. Proud of you for only gaining 15 lbs in 2 years of trials. Prayers and condolences to your family.

If I’d made my own “keto” journey video, I would’ve reported literally the exact same things. I think everything you shared is normal and human and just the way life is. Sure there are some who eat strict keto all day every day without any fluctuations, but I don’t think that’s typical. What’s important is that we know how to factory reset as needed. :) (I’m about to factory reset, myself lol.)

You ladies are so honest, funny and informative. I love your KZbin channel ❤️ I so remember helping care for my dying Mom. Watching over my Dad to make sure he was coping, working full time with two mid-adult children. It was incredibly stressful, emotionally draining and painful. So you two need to give yourselves some grace. You’re still in the grieving process. You’re both beautiful, just the way you are. And being a certain weight isn’t the be all and end all. It’s about being healthy. Will you be “happier” if you’re a few pounds lighter? I’m type 2 diabetic. I lost 25 lbs after being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes 2 years ago. I’m 5’ 3”. And because I’m still insulin resistant, it’s been difficult to lose any more. I exercise every day…pilates, walking, now gardening, which has kept my weight off. But most importantly, kept me fit, toned and strong. You may want to consider adding some form of exercise to your weekly. Benefits are enormous. Keeping weight off, strengthening your muscles, relieving stress, and so much more. Just walking 20-30 minutes a day can do wonders. I’ve come to accept I may possibly never lose the extra 5-7 lbs I would like. That’s ok. I’m healthy. But you two do you. Keep being the helpful sweet ladies you are. ❤️❤️❤️

You both are such beautiful people inside and out! Im really glad you started this channel and am loving hearing more about your emotional journey. I’m so sorry for your loss. My mother passed in April this year and I gained 25 lbs in a month just eating my feelings and not eating keto. I just ate everything all the time. Not weighing myself was also my downfall but I didn’t want to face reality. So I am doing something a bit different and my adult son is joining me. We are fasting 120 hrs and then have an refeed window of 1 to 2 days of eating clean. I am down 20 lbs in a month and find it very easy to do. I am going to Europe in a month and I want to feel and look my best.

I love both your channels. I have been eating low carb/Keto/20 whole carbs or less, once in a while will eat up to 50 g and in 20 months have lost 100 pounds. I watch your channel because you are both entertaining but there is no way I could eat most of the items you make, I haven't had any "keto" treats since starting this journey. Once in a while I might have some berries or fruit in season and sometimes low carb wraps. I am not perfect I have had birthday cake or cookies on occasion but get right back to eating clean my next meal. I have about 25 more pounds I want to lose. I need to start learning how to walk any distance again. I lost all this weight by no exercising because I was recovering from a broken back. I like to walk around Costco because I can walk a good distance because I have the cart for support. I am fortunate that I don't eat emotionally any longer like I did in the past. Losing my younger brother and taking him off life support made me want to lose the weight I needed to be healthy and not end up like him. Eating this way is so freeing and it has been so easy. Thanks for all the laughs. I am sure it was hard for you to keep up while your Dad was so ill and then losing him. Anne

Thank you for your honesty and this pep talk. I fell off the rails and gained 5 lbs in 4 weeks and need motivation, for sure. I was sooo close to my goal and completely sabotaged myself 🤢

I love the idea of prepping ahead. I have a problem that I will want something and default to craving non keto stuff. When if I had something ready to grab that isn’t prepackaged, I would do better. Love you two. Keep up your awesome work!!! 👍👏

Your parents raised you very well & it shows. I'm sorry for the loss of your father & am praying for your family to heal together. God Bless.🙏 Love to you both.💜💜

In the last week, I decided to get back to it. Back to basics. I stopped tracking in my phone and got a notebook and pencil and wrote down every crumb and at the end of the day figured out my macros and calories, and holy crap. I just eat way too much. It took me 1 day to realize this and 2 days to be more mindful. Day 3 and there is actual progress and better choices. I still get to eat. I’m writing EVERYTHING down on paper - for some reason that helps me. I LOVE to blame menopause because it IS harder, but I don’t need to eat so much. I live alone, but I actually say out loud, “that’s it, you’ve had enough now, stop eating. Go for a walk.” And I do it. 😂 sometimes you have to parent yourself.

OMG you guys… I lost so much weight on keto; down 130 lbs and keeping it off. Then I went a little crazy and started eating stuff like bagels, cookies, etc. Spiraled out… and now trying to get back after gaining 23lbs. Sigh. So I’ll keep up the program because it works. Plus, there are so many great recipes I have no excuse (other than laziness)… need to stay on it! Thanks for your channel - we’re all humans trying to do our best!

I always enjoy your channel. This has been a trying year for me too, so I do understand what you're saying. I GAINED 30 of the pounds I had lost. My 61st birthday is this week, and I can't fit ANYTHING in my closet 😢. Soooo, I'm getting back on track ! For my birthday, I'm allowing myself ( sugar free ice cream 🍨) For now *NO COFFEE (it's a trigger for me with sweeteners) * Protein/veggies=all meals * No eating after 6 p.m. ** KEEP MOVING ! WE can do it ladies....😊

Love this! You are preaching to the choir! A year ago I went into "maintenence mode" after losing 105 pounds and I gained 15 pounds. Yikes! I have been beating myself up about it and am trying to get back on track. I really appreciate your honesty about "real life". I went through my father's illness and death in 2019 so I'm well acquainted with that journey. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one that struggles with my weight. I know we will turn it around!

Hi girls! Thank you for this video! It is a relief to know that I’m not alone and having to just deal with things. I’m following along with you right there beside you and I cheer you on as your videos also motivate me and inspire me to keep going. I find that I am mentally better when I am eating clean. I was also very interested (and relieved) to find out that you eat sort of plainly during the week. This is what I do as well. Occasionally, I will make one of the recipes that you share, but for the most part, I watch your videos for motivation and you make me laugh and smile. Thank you for all you do! I’ve lost both of my parents and I did not believe the grief really ever leaves. We just simply adapt to it. God bless you both and may He carry you through the rough days.

I appreciate this video so much! I have had similar experiences. Had a recent event with a family member that has resulted in their extended hospital stay. Between the stress and commuting back and forth to the city where the hospital is located it has been a lot! I'm with ya! Things seem to be improving with my family member as she has reached a point where she'll be released soon and the ball is in her court now. I'm hoping the fact that garden season is coming into full swing and things calming down will help get me back on track. ❤

I started on a carnivore diet in January 2023. I dropped 40 lbs and then just seemed to get stuck there (which I've heard sometimes happens). I felt better, my A1C dropped to 5.4, my blood pressure went to a normal range. It was great! Then I went on vacation in late Sept/early Oct. I was not able to maintain my diet and I gained about 5 lbs. Then Thanksgiving/Christmas/Birthdays, etc all came and I couldn't get back on track. Now I've gained 20 lbs back. YIKES! Life happens. But that's no excuse. I feel rotten and I know the only way to get better is to get back on track. I like your idea of meat and veggies. Thank you for the encouragement. I am making a committment to join you. Blessings, Janell
