Maybe Luthenians are'nt up front people, It might be they want free labor and you guy have to understand thier culture. Simas is actually American now. I think it's tme you guys interview those workers and see how they got hired there.

Thanks everyone that showed interest in our business and signed up with your contact info. We wish we had better news to share and honestly, our business is technically still alive but nowhere near where we want it to be. If we receive good news on our end, the best candidates that we've already reached out to will be the first ones to hear it. Stay tuned and thanks for your support!

I'm listening to your story and I see one thing you really really need somebody who is local and knows how the business is done here. Because what are you telling and what have surprised you is totally normal practices. The business environment is a bit more aggressive in Lithuania. I guess it came from the 90s as 90s were very tough times and most of the biggest businessmen are from that era. All in all, you need a local man with experience who would lead you through the process. Few advices: 1. It is normal that companies respond with delay. Usually successful companies are very busy and it is normal that everything is done with a little bit of lag. I personally work with foreign companies and the situation in other EU countries in many cases is even much worse than in Lithuania in this regard. 2. It's perfectly fine if other companies send you the contract with track changes (red text). After this step it's not like you have to agree with their text. At this stage negotiations begin. You can say that we agree with this and that, but this clause is not acceptable for us. Your business is small (or practically non existent at the moment) so they will probably will try to push you as much as possible. They know you have no other choice, but to agree to their terms if you want to have business with them. And big companies usually have lawyers or teams of lawyers. So it could be extremely difficult to talk with them. But there is a law that the contract should be equal to both parties. Also if you have hired a lawyer I would suggest taking him/her with you to negotiations (if it gets serious). Good luck for you. I really with a success for your business. But it will not be easy. Also suggestion start from something simple, like cleaning companies where people don't need a language or special skills to work. Also cleaning companies usually aren't very big so it would be easier to communicate with them.

Hi, thanks for your input, we really appreciate it! A local person may be the thing we're missing most. It seems to be a very straightforward business but maybe that's it. As for your other points, I agree that it's normal for companies to get back late if they're busy. But what about not getting back at all after negotiating and agreeing on details , over and over again? It doesn't sound like they urgently need workers or are simply not interested in our services. I agree that it's perfectly fine for companies to suggest changes in a contract, we do it all the time for many things. But when you send back your suggestions, they do not respond at all and again, there is no communication. This is the biggest issue for us since starting the business: sure, we're small (basically non-existent) but we are able to help the companies solve a problem. Many companies don't seem to be looking to fix these issues in any other way and they don't want to pay or communicate. It's very unfortunate, sadly. I'm sure there are cultural differences, but business is business.

Also, we did try with other companies, including trucking/warehousing and some car wash places, supermarkets, stores, etc. Not specifically cleaning though, but we can try! Thanks again, we hope to find some success as well 🙂

@@AvriSimas I guess these companies do not think about your company as about something seriuos. That is why they act like that. You need a success story to change that. Or maybe an investor so you could take some costs on yourself till your company will get a name. Maybe some friends or relatives have some small business and would hire one or two people from the countries you're searching workers in? You need to show some result that have already been achieved to the potential clients. It's like I'm comming to you and saying that I am producing the tyres by the brand "Geriausios padangos pasaulyje" and I'm saying that these are the best in the world. But you haven't heard about such brand. Would you buy these? But if a friend would recomend those or you would get a test drive and would see yourself that these are actually great tyres... that could change a lot. I don't know if you're interested I could spend my 10-15 minutes to talk about what potential challanges I see for your company and what solutions could be for your company.

Hi Avri and Simas, this idea is a brilliant idea. Like you both said, Lithuania hasn't warmed up very much to this spectacular idea and it will be huge in a few years. Stick with it no matter how challenging so that in the forseabke future when you have paved the way, you wont only see how others are reaping from what you could have been reaping from. You can pursue other ideas as well but this is a great one to ride with as well. Goodluck in all you do ❤

All you have to do is ask the future employees to pay for your service. You can set up payment plans or have it deducted from their paychecks. Have them sign a contract that they, the employee, will pay you.

Hey, great video and appreciate the update. May I suggest getting a mentor. Are there any social clubs you can attend or join? Maybe start shopping at mom & pop stores. They get their supplies somewhere. That maybe a way in to get business. Start small. You need to network. Networking is big in the U.S. It’s who you know that can get your foot in the door. Also you may see different people working, but are they legally working? Another issue here in U.S. the illegal workers problem will never be solved, it is a source of cheap labor that businesses use, particularly in agricultural, factory work. Jobs where they don’t need to speak English.

Hi A&S, I like your business concept but I agree that what you may be missing is the local business person to act as an conduit or liason advocate between you and your target companies. Does Lithuania have professional organizations like Chambers of Commerce that you can partner with? Or perhaps the Dept. of Tourism or the Minister/Dept. of the Interior? Don't give up because I think that you have a solid business concept. You are just probably the first to do it.

By the way, does Lithuanian Consulate in Jamaica has a requirement to take biometric info (fingerprints)? That complicates things even further, because a potential worker needs to arrive to the consulate in person. Nearly all EU/Schengen countries require this.

I think you guys have big dreams, but things don’t happen overnight. The idea is good, however , Simas has not lived in the country for a long time and you grew up in Jamaica and New York where things run different. May I suggest you get someone locally to help. You perhaps should have done the ground work with finding interested companies before putting out something to people interested in working in Lithuania. Please don’t take this in a bad way, but watching you guys for sometime, you tend to start things, stay a short time and move on. Take time to find out exactly what you want to do and spend the time working on it. Good luck!

Hello, lovely couple. I was following you for awhile and after this video I decided to drop you a line. While your project sounds like a thorough business idea, I don't hear you mentioning the most important part-obtaining a Schengen visa -anywhere in your videos. Is it something your mention in the contract how you're planning to go about it? These days, especially post Covid time, to obtain a Schengen visa is very lengthy, costly and time consuming process. We are talking fees reaching into hundreds and more. A potential worker would need to provide their resent police report, their bank statements, etc., proof where they're going to stay. Most likely an employer from more professional industries, such as IT & Computing or specialist fields would be prepared to go through such hassle. But, I doubt, a hospitality sector, transport or building sectors would go through such, frankly, nightmare when it comes to visas. An employer would ask himself - Is it worth it? I am speaking from the professional experience, here, in the UK, issuing/ arranging visas for various passport holders to enter Europe for work, study or residency. That's my insight from the information that you provide on your channel.

Possible but unlikely, we had more of an issue when it comes to language barriers with these workers (as older Lithuanians rarely speak english) and simply communicating terms.
