*Afterthoughts & Addenda* *The Alien Character is my side of the conversation.* The part that I read in my unaltered voice is the scammer's side. I appreciate this is weird, but I wanted a break from the 'I said.../The scammer replied...' format (which does not work well in fast paced dialogue *The Alien Voice* - a few people asked how I did the effect - it's just my own voice, recorded speaking in a deliberate monotone - I then made two copies of it, one copy got pitch shifted down about 3 semitones; to the other, I applied a high pass filter (this isolates the S sounds) and added tremolo to that - then recombined them. In the clip where the aliens reveal their intended purpose, there are an additional two copies of these two audio elements, slowed down about 10% and time shifted so they only syncrhonise momentarily in the middle of the clip.

You know the scams that start with a lawyer wanting to put you as next of kin to someone who died with their entire family in some horrific accident? You should totally try claiming you are the person they say died and a) act upset that someone says you died horrifically, or b) act confused about being dead because in reality you survived the accident

Scambait suggestion (been doing this myself and it can at times produce fun results): Send scammers each other's info. So hook two scammers at once. Tell Scammer 1 that your name is Scammer 2's name, that your phone number is Scammer 2's phone number, etc. and tell Scammer 2 that your name is Scammer 1's name, that your phone number is Scammer 1's phone number, and so on. Sending their fake IDs can sometimes cause them to shut down, but sometimes they continue. And if they end up calling each other... Well, it has to be a delightfully confusing conversation.

YES! YEESSS!!! FINALLY someone understands the concept of an extradimensional alien's experiences! They don't perceive the world the way we do, and cannot search for the elements themselves, but they CAN perform operations on our physical world, hence needing someone to gather the materials and tell them where the materials are gathered. The consistency is perfect. There could be more detail added (like specifying what the safe distance is, or giving detailed instructions for how to specify the precise location and dimensions of the procured metallic elements to minimize damage to surrounding areas and maximize elemental purity), but overall this was SIGNIFICANTLY better than how such things are usually portrayed. I will say, however, that 'OUR LOCATION CANNOT BE EXPRESSED IN TWO DIMENSIONAL SYMBOLS' is factually incorrect. You must simply make use of some form of subspace, which is a the mapping of an n-dimensional figure using fewer than n dimensions. For example, saved on a storage drive of some sort, this video is a 1-dimensional mapping of a three dimensional construct (2D images, plus time to make them move, 3D total). It's 1-dimensional because it is a string of bits; 1s and 0s. A computer file containing 3D model data, bone and armature rigging data for that 3D model, and animation data for the rig, is a 1D representation of 4D data. It would have been more accurate to say that ALANHUMID lacked the necessary knowledge and vocabulary to express this information. In later videos using this method, you could still say that it was believed that English lacked the vocabulary necessary, and it was likely that human languages in general lacked the ability. Of course, the way you portrayed the alien mind (or minds? The concept doesn't necessarily map well) is still perfectly consistent, you just had that one piece of information incorrect, and honestly it's not something that most people think about enough to get into this sort of detail.

One thing to bear in mind is that we have no idea whether the alien entity was being completely straightforward and honest.
@AtomicShrimp
@AtomicShrimp 3 жыл бұрын
Also, have you considered a scenario where, to the alien entities, the concepts of discrette, countable dimensions, divided only into just 'spacelike' and 'timelike' varieties might be so puny and incomplete that it is nearly impossible to use
@Tynach
@Tynach 3 жыл бұрын
@@AtomicShrimp In mathematics, there are countable infinities, and uncountable infinities. Things like fractions are countably infinite, while real numbers in general are uncountably infinite. When speaking of multiple dimensions, the specification of a specific dimension can be - and in some cases Must be - made using uncountably infinite combinations, but the number of dimensions being discussed will always be a subset of a countably infinite set of dimensions. If they were capable of controlling the mind of a human and studying our existence through that host, then they already have a specification for at least our spatial and time dimensions. While to them these may seem like arbitrary dimensions (as arbitrary as 'up', 'left', or 'down' are to us, as they depend on our orientation relative to each other ('your left, my right', for a simple example)), they will have enough information to extrapolate more concrete meanings such as 'north' and 'east' if we were to use such terms. That is, they can use their knowledge to extract a concrete meaning from our less concrete terms. I have spent way too much time thinking about these things.
@Tynach
@Tynach 3 жыл бұрын
Of course, you might also run into a situation where an infinite set of dimensions is used. These are still countably infinite though, and probably do not apply to us humans directly. It might apply to their machinations with which they communicate with us, but that should be handled entirely on their end.
@Tynach
@Tynach 3 жыл бұрын
And... Honestly, I can totally see the alien trying to just get us humans to accept the free perpetual motion machines being offered to us (payment via angular momentum and so on). Honestly, anyone who actually understands what's being offered would jump on such an opportunity immediately (assuming it was real).

I'm always impressed by the level of complacency people inhabit while watching these videos and of the never ever learning state they end up in after too much exposure to the web. Take me for example, I used to drink whatever while watching videos. Well after 2 keyboards and having to take them both apart many times for complete emergency maintenance due to fluids force projected by nose triggered by uncontrollable laughter at perfect storm moment, I still drink like there is no tomorrow... We never learn. Heck, at least I don't run with scissors :) The web is formidable, wast and infinite and dangerous.

Not to answer on his behalf. But I have watched a good chunk of Atomic Shrimps other Scambaiting videos. From what I can tell No... it would have probably made a part at some point if that was the case. However in "The Surprising Return of John Barosa" the only slight plausibility of a connection was that Mr. Kerem typing Warosa and Barosa. Though this did arise as Atomic did it first. Hahaha imagine that consistency in a scam.

This is much better than nonsense generation imo. I rewatch the scambaiting series all the time, but skip all the hacker stuff because nonsense gets old pretty fast, and I just lose the thread of conversation. It may work to annoy scammers, but I get affected by that too. This video, however, is really fun, because it is ridiculous but fully comprehensible. The "S" sound being longer at the end of words really adds to the probably malevolent nature of the alien.
