The new shop has a new level floor that is where the drag rail needed to be weighed
@k1e1v1i1n3 жыл бұрын
Might be the battery causing the issue.
@backcountryme3 жыл бұрын
@@k1e1v1i1n naw. Either the chassis is twisted, or the axles are not level and parallel. If it was the battery you would only see increased weight on one side, and it would effect the weight on the same side tires. But when the left fron and right rear are both higher then you have a cross weight issue. My family races midgets and sprint cars and one way we adjust our setup is with cross weight. We adjust the right front sprint so that it puts more weight on the ground then the left front. This makes the left rear also put more weight down. This helps with getting a good drive out of a turn because the left rear is now biting into the ground a bit more. It is actually much more complex, but that is the quick version.

John, if you can make a brake rotor, why not just make your own sprockets to change gearing on the spot? You could make em split sprockets to make em faster to swap.

store bought sprockets probably go though a hardening process.
@4thGloryMonday3 жыл бұрын
bake em in the oven and cool em down 100 times and still wouldnt hold up
@terryfromsouthcarolina46013 жыл бұрын
The only common sprockets that I ever ran into that were hardened were the small ones on the output of a motorcycle. I have modified many sprockets and even in a pinch made them by drilling holes and doing a shit ton of filing. But most sprockets are just tough because you don't want to wear the chain prematurely. I don't see why it wouldn't be worth a try. I have had them laser cut before. The big thing is the precision and repeatability of the tooth pattern. If it doesn't work carve Cars and Cameras in it and sell it as a souvenir.........LOL! I say it's worth a try if you want to work out the program.
@Lucas12v3 жыл бұрын
Most sprockets aren't hard but they're likely not mild steel either. Something with more wear resistance. The shape and precision of the tooth pattern is also more complicated than it seems. This Old Tony has a video about making a sprocket on a cnc router if you're interested.

It's great to see in the dirt too, with tires made for throwing monster rooster tails. The added weight might have come from the new rims and tires, maybe? If you could just get it down to no more than 400#.... And move the motor forward for a little better weight distribution, and BAM! It would rock Bosco Beach!
