Exactly. Marriages aren't always 50/50 (aka "fair"), either. If one partner gets sick or injured, the other partner needs to be willing to pick up the slack including care taking without resentment. Throughout history marriage has been an institution that has benefitted men more than women. There are studies showing how married men live longer than unmarried men as well as studies showing women who outlive their husbands report being happier. Women handle most of the domestic work for free while also working. Men are also more likely to leave their partners if they get sick. Which supports my arguement about how women provide unpaid domestic labor thereby enriching men's lives more. Women today get married mainly for social and interpersonal reasons. These supposed "high value" males who claim women benefit more from marriage are just raging sexists.
@kj230008 ай бұрын
Absolutely! Women go into marriages expecting teamwork, but that doesn't happen. I look at my own parents and think about how when my dad was diagnosed with diabetes, my mother was the one who controlled everything he did to reduce his blood sugar levels so quickly, that the doctors were amazed with my mom. Whereas he couldn't even be bothered to quit smoking (something he has promised to quit over 20 years ago), or look after his health. My mother is worried sick about him, and he cant even be bothered to ease her tensions. It's not just my dad, so many men in my family have this behaviour. It's put me off marriage tbh, and my mother (surprisingly) supports it.

So these men would get hot meals, full breakfasts, never touch a dish, never have to bathe or put their kids to bed, never vacuum or sweep, and get to control the finances so he could have his side money for whatever hobbies he wants (and also get plenty of time for after work each day), and make sure his wife gets a strict budget. He can then claim to be a family man, but never meet his kids' teachers, attends his kids' extracurricular activities only if he wants to (and gets praises for showing up), and can plan events at the house for his friends and family but not contribute any effort into prepping. He can also be stereotypical and call his wife a nag if she ever dares to ask for help with the children. I can go on 🤣🤣🤣. But yea... These men would absolutely benefit more.

AFAB raised catholic, mind was drenched with the idea of being *that* girl for men. Now im transmasc, genderfluid and queer and happpier than ever
@jynxiebaby51378 ай бұрын
Also AFAB, raised Baptist and Presbyterian, my grandma started asking when I finally planned to start having children when I was 14, my Nana once said "how will you ever get a man if you can't properly dust- start over" Got married, got sterilized. Living fully out as agender, transmasc, on the acespec, and poly with a lean towards AFABs. Finally hate myself a little less and I'm so much happier Fuck the cheap little boxes they try to put us in. Create your own standards. The first part to being a man is being a human, so be one that's kind and empathetic and generous. People take this stuff too seriously.

I think being queer is just a way to make it easier to be who you truly are... you can be AMAB or AFAB and not conform to masculinity or femininity at all... When I came out as queer... which was just an excuse to be myself... my whole life changed. Met my best friend for life, got rid of so much masculine toxicity from my soul, had kids (something I always wanted to do), lived a more productive life working in NGOs instead of a bank, lost all that muscle and weight and became more comfortable just being my tin self... Life truly is better now. Now I actually have a social life, a romantic partner, a family of my own, a better overall family relationship, a workplace not filled with wannabe clones of Patrick Bateman, no need for sleeping meds anymore...

@@QWERTY-gp8fd In your metaphor, you’re making yourself out to be a predator and women out to be prey for you to catch and consume. It’s a red flag. Your metaphor also doesn’t make sense: fish can’t communicate and tell you how best to get them, women can. Also, why do you have such a cynical view of why women might hype you up? Women hype each other up too. The intention is not to lie to the other person and certainly not to laugh behind their back like some cartoon villain. Traditional marriage benefits men wayyyy more than it "benefits" women
@deltaxcd8 ай бұрын
How? maybe it benefits traditional workaholic puritan men but if you love easy fun life it is literal hell
@mrtophat127 ай бұрын
Literally both of you are wrong. It benefits both partners if you treat the partnership equal on both sides. What the fuck are you guys smoking?
@deltaxcd7 ай бұрын
@@mrtophat12 How it benefits them? Even by the same, statistic married men make more money which means they work more surfer more and have less fun. How that benefits a man? Very likely man doesn't even see his children because he is working all the time while his wife gets free money her bills are paid and she gets to spend all the time with children to satisfy her maternal instincts at the expense of a man whom she rarely see. I myself know men who barely spend any time at home because they are traveling all the time or even when they come back everyday they don't have any energy left to interact with anyone because their job already took it all from them. Yes it is possible when marriage marginally benefits both or even when it benefits a man but in those situations woman will most likely refuse to marry. She will marry only when it benefits her. But most likely marriage will benefit only woman or it will make everyone suffer because now nobody will have any fun it will be eternal torture until death.

Living a happy fulfilling life with someone you get to call your wife and share a last name with? Solidifying the fact that you are a package deal? Or you know, tax benefits :)

Benefits men get in a marriage: forming an immediate family bond with a life partner; having the sanctity of your relationship recognized by the law and insurance companies; expressing the terms of your commitment in front of family and friends (or your god, if you are religious); tax benefits; becoming a new figure, socially (as in participating in society as a married person rather than a single person); and more, but these are just off the top of my head. Also, why would women get more out of a marriage than men? Maybe because many social systems surrounding marriage come from when "responsibility" over women was passed from father to husband. It's one thing to not choose marriage for yourself; it's another thing to say no man benefits from any marriage. Some guys actually like their wives, lol

unrelated kinda, but something i think is funny about what "a man" or "A women" is, its always whats between your legs, but my question is then, dosent that mean that a trans person who has cut off there penis or a trans person who has gotten one, would automatically be there preferred gender? using the argument "its whats between your legs" is a loosing argument, cause it contradicts itself when ppl say "trans isent real"
