For brief breakdown of “Ted” his full name is Dr. Theodore "Ted" Sallis. He became the creature know as man thing when he drank a recreation of the super solider serum and drove straight into a swamp that was the Nexus of all realities. Which he in now the guardian of. Jack Russel aka Werewolf by night is a descendant of cursed bloodline put on by Dracula himself. Elsa bloodstone is part of a family of monster hunters(think the Belmonts from castlevania). That’s super simplistic summary of their origins and I know I skipped a lot of stuff but I’m just a KZbin commenter.

Gimme Blade, Black Knight, Moon Knight, Werewolf by Night, Agatha Harkness, Man-Thing, & Elsa Bloodstone in a Midnight Sons movie. When someone gets killed off, you can add Ghost Rider, Nightcrawler, or Magik to the team down the line. Have them go up against someone powerful like the Scarlet Witch, Nightmare, or Mephisto. Wong or Strange could be a guiding figurehead like in the comics. It’d be dope if they could make it an R-rated horror flick. A mature section of supernatural anti-heroes would be money.

Do you think the very good reception of Werewolf By Night is a good part of the reason for Marvel's pushing out some of their future movies, including Blade? They announced Blade 3 years ago? and they still don't have a director for it, but now they could very well have found the perfect match, and the movie may actually need to be re-written to fit Giacchino's vision. This obviously pushes out related projects out--notice how not all projects were pushed out. Possibly only those where Blade, or any character in Blade may be a part of?

I think it’s the best thing Marvel has put out in 2022 and might be my second favorite Phase 4 project next to Shang-Chi. I wanted this to be a 2 hour movie. I love that this had no connection to the wider MCU outside of that shot of the OG Avengers at the beginning. I loved the chemistry between Jack & Elsa and Jack & Ted. I love Ted. I love that Jack just went in there to save his buddy. And I love that this isn't the first time he's had to do this for Ted. I think he is my new favorite MCU character. It didn't really scare me though but I don't know if it was supposed to. My only gripe really is Jack's face paint didn't contrast enough. It was hard to see in black and white. Blade, Moon Knight, Black Knight, Werewolf by Night, Elsa Bloodstone, Man-Thing, & Agatha Harkness would make the perfect beginning roster. Ghost Rider, Nightcrawler, or Magik can fill in later when someone leaves or gets killed off. Wong or Strange could be the guiding figurehead & Scarlet Witch, Nightmare, or Mephisto would make a great horror villain. It’d be nice if they’d give it an R rating because Jake Lockley, Blade, Werewolf, & Man-Thing could all benefit from the gore.

This is one of the coolest monster movies I’ve ever seen! I thought it would be at most kind of good but this special is honestly a 10/10 for me. Michael Giachinno should direct the next Blade movie. I loved the use of film grain, black and white, and the very old school style soundtrack. And the makeup and visual effects for both The Werewolf and Ted/Man-Thing were amazing. I don’t think we’ll see them in an Avengers movie but I would love to see more of them as well as Elsa Bloodstone in future MCU projects. Also I loved the very subtle jokes of Jack being a wolf because before he sits down to talk with Elsa he turns around in place like a dog and in the cage he scratches his ear really fast like a dog.😂

It's almost a joke at this point how many super fans are dismissive of the idea that there's any good characters left to use in the MCU since all the "a-tier" characters were used in Phase 1. But back in the land of Marvel fans omg yes so many great possibilities with so many great characters.
@ignisinfernal1843
@ignisinfernal1843 Жыл бұрын
@@cupguin I mean even that idea that all the A-tier characters were used in Phase 1 isn't even correct. Iron Man, Thor, the Guardians, and the most of the characters already in the MCU weren't even super popular until they were given a chance to have a movie and were well-written. You can take pretty much any comic character and make it work as long as it's written well.

YES, Underworld reactions would be great. The series drops off in quality eventually, but is enjoyable for a few entries. Underworld desaturates the colors and ups the blues.

I remember thinking that not all characters deserve a theatrical movie or 6 episode show, but maybe doing a straight to streaming short or movie would be kind of "degrading", like they aren't worthy enough of a full spotlight. This was so, so, SO GOOD!!! Easily one of my favorite things that Marvel has done!! Both Jack and Elsa were fantastic, and I can't wait to see more. A few other things: 1) They nailed Man-Thing!! He's my favorite Marvel monster, and I am so very happy with his introduction! He was a scientist named Ted Sallis, and as Man-Thing he is drawn to people's emotions, especially fear. His tag line in the comics was "Whatever knows fear burns at the Man-Thing's touch!" He and DC's Swamp Thing are definitely similar, and Man-Thing debuted just a couple months before Swamp Thing did. 2) I haven't heard any reactors mention this yet, but there was a fun little easter egg in the opening narration when he said the phrase "where monsters dwell," which was the title of a long-running Marvel horror comic. 3) I strongly recommend that you watch the Disney+ documentary "Director by Night," which is about Michael Giacchino and his brother, and how they grew up making movies with their friends. It's extremely good! Keep it up Wave runners!! You guys are awesome!

Might have missed it, but I didn't see anyone in the comments answer the flaming tuba guy question... David Silverman is one of the key animators and directors of The Simpsons, and has been with them since the very beginning. Yes, he plays the tuba, and yes, that is actually his flaming sousaphone. He took it on Leno and Letterman in the early 2000s, and he's played in different groups over the years, including a couple times at Burning Man. Considering Michael Giacchino's connections to music, animation, and Burning Man, I'm going to assume he already knew Silverman and thought the flaming tuba would just be really cool to stick in the right movie.
