So does dead press or rack press off the bottom increase your max for bench press and squat 15% as well? Does squatting off of rack pins work just as well as box squats?
@WestsideBarbellOfficial

Good question. If thats is where your sticking point is it can help hugely, it is up to you to figure out if the lift is a builder [helps generate a bigger standard lift] or tester [gives you a KPI if you are on track]

At 39:45 this guy is wrong. It is not the stretch reflex that limits muscle tension but it's correctly called the Golgi Tendon Organ and what it does is monitors muscle tension and in the event that it perceives imminent injury, the Golgi Tendon Organ will literally prevent the muscle from firing, thereby preventing injury.

Hang on. Muscle injury may only happen when the weight is beyond the load-bearing capacity of the tissues. But joint/cartilage injury is nearly guaranteed when you place uneven stresses on the spine (front/rear) by rounding. It's fucking bad news, and I really hope anyone listening to this doesn't take this as an excuse to utilize bad form. Learn solid form. Strengthen along and along, but realize you can easily herniate a disc or two when attempting even a sub max 2-3 rep lift, if you round your back. It might be best to only allow yourself a few degrees of variation, maybe 5, and if you feel your form going beyond that, set it down and drop the weight back down for a final set and come back the next week with 10 lbs total increase on all your sets leading up to the heavy one. Do that a couple of weeks instead of just trying to push up the max set.

Even if that's the case, which I know is false, these so called genetically gifted atheletes didn't wake up with 900 lb deadlift. They needed a program to allow them to reach their potential. This program can let a "normal" person reach their potential too, the potential might be way higher than you might think.
