The two differing charlotte recordings. Think about it. That is a big clue, and goes against everything that's being said and shown. The charlotte who's watching that recording is a host. Hosts aren't supposed to be 'in the system'. So how are we seeing two versions of that?

7:26 Bernard may be the key because Delores-Wyatt’s plan may involve deaths of all the Delorii, including herself (starting with the suicide of Martin-Delores). This would explain why Martin-Delores tells Bernard, “you’re the only one we can’t replace”, because her plan requires her death and if she dies, then she can’t bring him back, because... ...as Delores keeps reminding him, 'You live as long as the last person who remembers you' and their unique bond allows them to bring the other back by passing the fidelity test. As Bernard is the only one who truly remembers her, then he's the only one who can bring her back....and crucially without Wyatt (who was Ford's creation). If Delores-Wyatt's plan works i.e. hosts win a safe place in the real world, then Bernard could bring her back at the end as her untainted original self without Wyatt, free of the memory and guilt of what was needed to be done (by Wyatt) to secure her freedom and that of the other hosts.

@Sensei Shredder I know, it's just crazy and tragic that Caleb is doing so much for Dolores out of this sense of purpose and realness she provides him, but ultimately I think she hates him because he's still a human and she knows his past. This whole episode I thought Dolores was "freeing people from their cages" as a kindness, until Martin was like "yeah isn't it dope how we can just make humanity destroy themselves with these profiles?" Really imo it just happens that her grand scheme necessitates breaking these cages, and she really just hates cages - as it's a dirty human concept- and could care about the people.

@Tyler-qk1xn4 жыл бұрын
I think the agitator turns out to be Caleb rather than Delores since he is supposedly human and a part of the system. By breaking the loop initially and becoming part of Delores master plan, he no longer has his life planned out for him. I think that was why there was such a strong reaction by Dempsey and why it could be part of him saying he’s worse than all of them and the “you did it” part. Now I do believe however it could also be that Caleb was in fact the one that killed his own friend. But too many times was something similar mentioned and it portrays Caleb to be some kind of monster we have yet to actually see.

Especially since Maeve can control other host and didnt need to fight him in the first place. I know some may say " but Maeve even said she lost her power you idiot" when in all actuality Maeve said that when she was in a a computer simulator not surrounded by host. Plus went on to show that she can indeed control electronics in the real world by turning the Yakuza guns against them. @maplenerd224 жыл бұрын
@@kanesn0633 - I don't think there's enough information to say those are continuity errors. We know that Hosts are just machines with consciousness. How they react to bodily harm are just programs triggered by senors. We also know that Delores has the ability to create host bodies at will. So who's to say she couldn't have planned and created a body with infused blood in the first episode so that she can appear "human" to Caleb, but then in the fifth episode be in a brand new body where there's no blood infusion. As for Maeve, we really don't know if her powers in the park would work on other hosts, particularly Delores in the real world. She hasn't shown it yet this season. Also keep in mind, Maeve doesn't have control over hosts that are sentient, for example Ghost Nation. She couldn't control them in Season 2 even though she spoke to them in their language. What we do know is Maeve's body and code is under some sort of control of Serac. Afterall we have seen that he implemented a kill switch in her, so it's safe to assumed Serac didn't give her unfettered abilities like she had in the park.

No simulation in a simulation, I guess, but that Rehoboam has outgrown his creators, as Dolores did with hers. Albeit like in case of Ford, Serac is actually not the creator of Rehoboam and thus has only control, but no real understanding of "him", as did Ford with Arnold's creation. And the killing of Dampsey(?) against the simulation was not a choice, a white space, but simply being as problematic as his brother just to a lower degree, but one that will get him later nonetheless. Maybe Rehoboam has already identified him as problem and Dolores is already a part to correct this problem. What if Rehoboam comes to the conclusion that humanity is not worth being saved, or that Dolores's kind is superior and the future? I'm a bit of all the people who are on this Matrix-trip, unable to fathom something else. But if it is really simpl a simulation in a simulation...what a bummer. That would be even worse as Galactica or Lost. I'd love to see that Serac has to face the fact that he is the agitator who is about to destroy the world.

I just wanted to mention that Serac's work here follows pretty much the same concept of Psychohistory described in Asimov's Foundation series. As such, I believe that the title "Foundational Cognitive History" seen on the tablet Dolores is holding is a reference to this.
@SteveKasputis4 жыл бұрын
I thought the same thing. Here's what I commented ... It strikes me there are a lot of similarities between this season of WW and Asimov's Foundation series (including the trilogy written after his death). Maybe the writers were fans and are drawing on that as inspiration. 1) an individual (Seldon in the books) attempts to create a way to predict events by understanding human behavior. 2) Chaos causes problems with the predictions and must be eliminated (in the books the Chaos worlds are quarantined) 3) There are robots that the system can't account for It's not an exact parallel but there are definite similarities

Maybe someone would appreciate knowing that the Shining theme at the beach contains the four notes from the Dies Irae (it's a 800 years old Gregorian chant on funerals and the day of reckoning, it's used in music and cinema because it can subconsciously convey a sense of dread.); so its use here merely predicts Liam's death or is it something more? The day of reckoning between Dolores and Serac, maybe?

Depending on how the technological advancement of Rehoboam lines up with the timeline of events occurring within Westworld (the actual park), Arnold could have been deemed an outlier but Ford certainly must have been. Its predictive powers should have suggested that Ford's actions within Season 1 would lead to host consciousness and thus lead to Serac's present threat- should he not have intervened before Ford enacted his plan? Because, with the ability to predict decades into the future, it would logically detect a major disruption at that point. Ford likely would be an outlier and therefore unpredictable and not controllable, but I wonder whether Serac investigated him at all.

My level of frustration with this show has far surpassed my enjoyment of it. - The Genre drug could have been executed so much better, instead of overwhelming music, he should have had visual hallucinations too. Literally people trip out more smoking a joint then they do on this drug - I don't get whenever they put the glasses on Liam he instantly knew everything about the persons life in 5 seconds, like could recite a specific moment that he knew was impacting them at that moment? - How did Rehoboam completely take over the world in less than one generation. Serac was like 20ish when his brother first created it and in less than 40 years, it controls everyone and everything? And how old is Caleb, if it was already modifying his life as a child and he's approx 35-40 now, the timelines don't line up unless Serac is actually 100 and he somehow has given himself immortality. - How did releasing Rehoboam cause all of society to fall apart in 15 minutes? They literally got an email and within the first page their entire life has turned to chaos. I'm not trying to be a complainer but I have committed 3 years to this show and it seems like they are just dropping the ball executing a lot of the ideas.

The fifth pearl is teddy. At the end of season 2 Delores saves Teddy's mind in one of the pearls. Who better else does she trust in her missions. Teddy has been loyal to Delores up-to season 2 which is similar, to Caleb's loyalty. She trusts these two men more than the other hosts or humans. It could be Ford (Anthony Hopkins) as his character was mentioned that he might return to the show this season. He could be the guy in China and come to think of it, ford spent most of his time with delores. Hence she could use his help to take down Serac as he is the most experienced tech in Westorld together with Bernand. It also explains why she saved Anorld as well.

Does anyone else find the sound mix of this show less than optimal? I've got a decent sound system, but I find the dialogue track is often overpowered by the music and sound fx and the dialogues itself is somewhat dark and muddy in terms of EQ. This has been happening for several of this season's episodes. Might just be my old ears, but the earlier seasons of the show sound much better to me.

i viewed this episode as pure exposition - it helped fill in many gaps and allowed many of us an opp to "catch up" and understand wtf is going on. While I appreciated that, it was a bit of a drag on the action (like that CHiPs-style car chase) - hope it's just an anomaly and next week the show will get back to being awesome... and more Maeve.

That and the fight scenes and the stunning sets, it's all filler for a boring slow season. Dolores is a step ahead of everyone and wants anarchy, that's pretty clear from the beginning, so there's really no excitement. I hope there's really some interesting twist, because the whole almighty robo femme assassin thing is getting tired and they are WASTING Aaron Paul's brilliance unless he ends up having something important to do with the whole plot, hopefully

Glad someone also saw the flaw in this episode. It a shame because episode 4 was bloody amazing. Dolores and Caleb are pretty bland characters even from the first episode despite their motives. Everything they do so far is predictable and filled with cliches. I know the twist on next 3 episode would changes things but still these 2 characters doesn't give Westworld the charms as it used to be.
