I learned on one of those cheap EUCs, I found it needs much more skill to stay on than a larger, heavier wheel. Soon as I got a Ninebot One, it seemed like a breeze to ride in comparison. Still very agile, if a bit slow. Handy to keep in the car in case you want to go anywhere at a slightly-faster-than-walking pace :) I should add that even at 300w they're pretty strong, it managed to carry my 200lb brother over grass without cutting out.

One thing i noticed is that having the back of your foot or heel lined up with the back of the pedal really makes a big difference. You'll have more and better control of the Euc. It kind of feels weird at first having the front of your foot hanging off the pedal but you get used to it.

I've got the almost identical euc from China 8 or 9 years ago. The only difference seems to be mine has only 3 lights on top. It still works with about 8km of range and 17kmh maximum speed. Mine beeps at top speed or when the battery is low. It cost me about $400 CAD new. I am amazed that it still works. Good for basic training.

@@ranjithhk6217 It is good to learn how to keep balance and see if this type of vehicle is for you at all. It is slow, can accelerate to 10-12 km / h, has a 14-inch wheel and a battery that lasts maybe 15 minutes of driving. Anyway, I'm happy with it because it's enough for learning, and it's make you hurt less if you make a few scratches on it (compared to something more expensive).

Well yes and no. It's a good idea if you are on the fence about if you want to/can ride an EUC. Because if you cant do it you only spent $200. But, if you get hooked the $200 wheel will become useless very quickly.

I have a $230 generic EUC also. I like hopping on it from time to time. It's weird how slow 8 mph feels. Although I usually go 7 to avoid tilt back. I'm not good at making a u-turn on my street. This one is helpful for that. It's the one my son and I put through hell to learn on. He stepped right off that to an InMotion V8 and was an expert. He gets irritated with me because I keep fiddling with the cheap one. Lol

This video was fun and funny in so many ways. Did you buy it for the matching color of your Ninebot, and classic shot of your Roomba in background as you're profiling the wheel :-) I ended up freeform bending the mirror arm so it's a little more off to the side and not in my primary field-of-view. Still love the mirror and use it all the time. Except for colors and body shaping my $200 wheel is the same. Identical pedals and LEDs and power button. I think all the $200-$300 wheels use the same common components. I (170 pounds) can get ~6 miles out of it. But given what it is, these things really do work surprisingly well, and can be useful within city pedestrian traffic, etc. Anywhere that speed isn't important. Also, they're very manoeuvrable. Minus the speed and power it handles somewhat like my KS14C. That was brave taking over the grass - I've avoided any offroad riding since it has zero power. So you left off the best part - what does CIndy think? Is she game?

I have a very bot filled household, Neato, Roombas, Straava, Scooba, and a Braava. (hopefully not leaving anything out) I also have an Amazon Echo, two Echo Dots and a bunch of other wi-fi controlled devices. It's a bit nuts. If EMF is truly bad for you, I'm a goner. I have not gotten Cindy on the wheel yet, we are still in the midst of negotiation. :)

Hey Duf, When you ride, are you leaning on your calves? I have the Step & Roll and I'm only ~5'5"; when I ride (4 times now) I actually bruise my inner calves from leaning on the machine. Are you purely balancing, or are you using the unit to hold yourself up with your calves, as I do? D

Thanks for the review. I weigh 210lbs and I'm looking for a small EUC that will fit into the trunk of my car. Real 5 mile range per day would be plenty. Mostly to get me across parking lots and strip malls (all outdoors, 1 mile or so each way) quickly. I need to do this 3-4 times a day. Small size and inexpensive out way speed and range. I don't like getting hot and sweaty (suit and tie), and need to carry it inside to attend a meeting so it needs to store neatly while not in use. Charging using a 12v car outlet would be a plus. Seems like this UNC would work. You have any other suggestions?

Was wondering about your Monster. I've heard you mention it a few times. Whats the max weight it can carry and not break? I found out about euc's about a year or two ago. I seen an ad for a Ninebot 1 and it sounded awesome. I searched and found several YT videos showing them off. I liked and subbed to your other channel, EUC Army, or something like that, a while back. But through my research it seemed the Ninebot 1 has a limit of about 250lbs. At the time I weighed 252lbs. So I quit thinking about it. most of the information on euc's seems to be about speed and battery life, which is real good to know. But I dont want to order something that costs $500-2,000 only to find out I cant use it. I've lost some weight since then, down to 240 now. One of the reasons I was interested in a euc was the idea it'd make me more active. So do you know what the max weight is for your monster? Also if you know what it is for the newer Ninebots I'd appreciate knowing that as well.

fun fact: the parts for these are commodity parts, interchangeable and made by a few Chinese companies. The difference between $200 and $2000 is batteries and a Bluetooth connection. Some main boards have a more limited top speed, but that can be fixed for 50 bucks.

Well I don't think the board off the $200 generic is capable of running my 1600 WH Monster?
@ernststravoblofeld
@ernststravoblofeld 7 жыл бұрын
Dufisthenics You might be surprised. I would hope that the monster's board would have larger mosfets, but the ones on the smaller wheels are probably strong enough. What matters is less the size of the motor and more the amount of energy it takes to move a person against friction. If you compare the boards, they will look identical. The main difference will be firmware, and maybe a Bluetooth chip.
