Very nice conversation. I really appreciated the honesty and avoiding politicaly-motivated statements. This is a really fascinating new area of health and medicine.

“You cannot separate the effects of fibers and polyphenols, because if you eat plant food, you eat both.” And here am I supplementing with Resveratrol, Fisitin and Quercetin and the world expert on these molecules does not think you can study the effect without fiber intake. 😅

We can’t get around it. The western diet kills. It’s obvious us Americans are unhealthy as a whole. Need to change our diet.

What is a “regular American diet”? What do you guys eat? I’m from the Netherlands and we eat way too much cheese, beef and dairy. I suspect it’s the growth hormones from the milk that make us the tallest people in the world. We also have a lot of cancer, just like you guys. I looked it up and The Netherlands is on 4th place in terms of cancer rates, behind Ireland, the US and Denmark. Cutting down on milk is ok, but Dutch cheese is just too good ;).

wow, did not expect such mindless misinformation on meat and fats from such a educated person

He is a research-focused expert on polyphenols, so he speaks from the perspective of what has been found to be conclusive based on studies. He's not a dietician or nutritionist, or a chef. Those people can tell you how to more practically apply the knowledge that scientists such as Dr. Del Rio are expanding via research.
