Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy, or REBT for short, belongs to the behavioural School of therapy and is closely related to CBT. REBT is an active-directive therapy based on challenging faulty beliefs to resolve emotional and behavioural problems.
REBT is a theory devised by Albert Ellis, an American psychologist, who in the 1950’s founded the ABCD technique. Ellis believed that we can think our way out of distress.

Hey guys just found your videos and can't wait to go through more. Hearing that you're dixlexic really hit me as through my years I've always hidden my struggle with the English language. Never been digangnosed but have had plenty of tutors try and I've never been able to hack it. Thank you guys for helping me believe I can make a career out of this! 6.40 pm from the UK studying Council skills. At level two. I'm really unsure when ken said. It's not the cat bring run over that causes the distress? It's the hearing the cat has been run over. I'm confident that any pet owner who's pet was run over would one, be devasted by the news. 2 be devasted they had lost their pet. I watch these podcast daily and find them so helpful. That particular comment. Your not devasted the cat has been run over, you wasn't devasted all day although the cat was ran over earlier that day. I really struggle with this theory

I was thinking something similar: How can one be devastated by something one has no knowledge of? Yep, I struggle with this pet example.
