I liked and subbed just before the request. Anyone who leaves their bloopers in is my kind of guy!

I'll always leave bloopers in somewhere :D - nobody is recording videos without mucking it up at least once! haha

have a like and sub. I have many, many brushes, most of them useless synths for amazon. Best brushes are my W&N which still are great nearly 5 years later. The other secret weapon are natural hair drybrushes, picked up a cheap goat hair one and compared to my makeup brushes produces smooth transitions, no chalky finish,. Keep up the great vids, and thanks for linking Cryptic Cabin in another video, will be trying them out for brushes
@alexpaintstinythingsКүн бұрын
Awesome thank you - yeah Cryptic Cabin are grand for drybrushes and they do ethically sourced natural hair brushes too - another recommendation is Hawk - very affordable for such good brushes. Cheers!

I got that w&n s7 miniature brush a while ago, and I can confirm your assessment about its lack in belly size. I thought tip dry was an airbrush thing... but that brush corrected that assumption for me. :)

Gutted! Yeah it was devastating when I realised. It's good for eyes, but if you're using something with that small a tip and belly, then you want to get some good paint retarder to keep it wet for longer.

I need to learn how to clean my brushes properly. Also I was still listening 😉🤣

Ahaha, trooper! Thanks for sticking to the end :D - I'll do a vid on cleaning brushes. Lord knows I've got enough of them needing cleaned!!

Artis Opus brushes are made for them by Rosemary and Co
@alexpaintstinythingsАй бұрын
Oh really?? I'd love a source for that info if you have it - super useful to know!
@andrewhemsley4323Ай бұрын
Source was Spanish mini painter Juan Hidalgo, who exclusively uses Rosemary, but it’s pretty widely known. Rosemary also make the dry brushes that Artis Opus offer. You can buy these individually but they don’t of course come with the wooden box, dampening pad and cleaner.

Good to know! Gonna dig into this - super sleuth mode…

you mention 'duds' in regards to the Windsor Newton brushes, how ocmmon is this? I have a size 0 series 7 and the tip splits in 2 constantly which is new to me, I thought I did something wrong but I have another series 7 size 00 that is fine, so maybe its a dud?
@alexpaintstinythings17 күн бұрын
It used to be maybe 1 in 10 but it’s more like 1 in 5 these days sadly. YMMV though.

Have you tried any Kingart brushes? I would like to know how they compare.
@alexpaintstinythings2 ай бұрын
I have not, but it looks like they're all either synthetic or synthetic blended from what I can see online, so I suspect they'll be OK, but probably find competing with the fully natural hair brushes quite difficult, certainly after a reasonable amount of usage. If I come accross the brand in the UK, and have the opportunity, I'll pick one or two up and see if they're up to scratch!

Feldherr is awesome for the buck.

I’m not familiar with the brand but I’ll check them out for sure, thank you!!

holy u pay for a synt 4£ and for a natural hair 28£? i get mine for 2€ and 4€, both from the same hobby store. its a noname brand, but qualitywise they are absolutly fine. i ones got myself one for around 25€, never again i will buy one for that price, quality was horrendously bad. i rather get 5 for 4€ and if one turns out a bad one i dont care, it can serve as a basecoating brush or something
@alexpaintstinythingsАй бұрын
Yep both quality and price can be highly variable! Any will be better than the “starter brush” though for sure!
