Great subject Jason. I’ve just got my self a 2019 Yaris. 399000 Baht. Why? Well, it’s a Toyota, a brand I can trust. It has 50000 k’s. It’s well looked after. The dealer speaks English and I felt relatively safe in their hands. When I picked it up it had gone through a complete inspection and all fluids etc were replaced. 4 brand new tyres were fitted. I’m happy and it goes well. Apart from the cvt, which works. I found the Facebook market place a gem for cheap cars, mainly from Ferangs going home. Keep going Jason
@goodvibespattaya Жыл бұрын
Thanks mate, Yaris is great and you did well plus having all the fluids & tyres changed, it will go forever. Yes I said I don’t like CVT but I drove a Yaris and it was the best out of all of them and I may end up with one myself after Maxine 👍

Silver sure is the color of choice in Thailand. I can honestly say I am so glad I never have to blend another Toyota or Honda silver again 555. Hilux diesel would be my choice, I wouldn't have to think twice about it. I like the lower profile of the DMAX for getting in and out of the truck, that's a bonus for me. Your timing on these videos is great, I was hoping to see some more used cars or trucks to get an idea for transportation in the future. Thanks Jason.
@goodvibespattaya Жыл бұрын
Lol 😂 blending silver would be a pain, I see many two tone silver cars here that have had a hit & been painted. Hilux or DMax diesel is definitely the go, wish Maxine was diesel but it would have been much more expensive. Thanks mate 👍

Interesting side segment. Nice to know you can buy a used Pick-up in Thailand for a reasonable price. In America a used pickup will go for $20k+. Been here permenantly since 2006/7. DO NOT. buy cars from car yards/dealers or Thais. Buy privately from foreigners. (preferably not Russians) Clocking here is a sport, caught out a few dealers from checking in the Service Manual. One particular car had lost 100,000kms somewhere !!! Average Thai Joe only waxes and polishes their cars, Servicing is a bit like Red traffic lights, its only an option 😂😂😂. I think the prices on used cars in Thailand has come way down over the last 20 years....probably mainly due to the advent of the online age.....previously we were all at the hands of the dealer!!!! And not so much private sales. As for the CVT, I bought in 2006 a honda Jazz CVT new and she was a dream machine but at around 100K she would disengage at idle and become clunky.......after tooling around on various forums I found that a few recommended not following the Honda CTV fluid change interval of 40K.......I changed mine immediately at the which was 20K past the 80k and problem went away.....I'm now on 255K and she's doing fine.....om two occasions she had a bit of a clunk before the 20K interval so I replaced the fluid a few thousand k's early. Also got a 26 year old hilux ute which I bought around 2008/9 and still goes okay :)

The excise tax structure for automobiles in Thailand is determined by several variables, including body style, carbon dioxide output, engine displacement, ethanol fuel compatibility and the inclusion of eco-friendly technology.
