I'm taking pictures of your video and putting it through to my google translate, so take this translation with a slight grain of salt. Other than that, thanks for showing what comes inside the box. Nice thanks to you I found the company that makes the stones. Looks to be mostly known for their grinding wheels. I don’t see 400 grit in their catalog so maybe it’s specialty ordered.

You forgot to mention the down side about what comes with these stones...regret about all the money you put into so many other sharpening items that are now somewhat obsolete 😩

Nah while they're the cream of the cream of the crop when it comes to regular sharpening, normal waterstones are still the better choice for traditional single bevel knives haha

The diamond plates were obsolete so long ago and now I haven't used my venevs, neo, or shapton pro in so long with these babies.

Could you sharpen with the little stone? If it’s strong enough to flatten the big stone wouldn’t it cut steel also

@@anthonycapo1998 depends on use of course but I end up having to clean my Venevs with a nagura every 4-6 sharpenings. Based on the original thickness and how long it took me to get to the current thickness I estimate 5 yrs of life on the Venevs with my usage. Compare that to the super vitrified 400. Had it for a year with at least a hundred sharpenings on it. Isn’t loaded up and still flat. Probably could use a refresh though but it still cuts faster than my Venev 240F. I’m guessing the super vit will last at least a decade if not 2.

TripleB has sent a set to a professional sharpening company for testing, Portland Knife House, which probably go through dozens of knives a day(10,000 knives a year according to TripleB's video) and from the last update they've had the same stone for over a year and it's still going strong. Keep in mind the context that for those guys, a regular synthetic water stone that's an inch thick lasts them around 3 months before it gets too thin for practical use and is also slower and needs regular flattening, and diamond plates don't even last a day before becoming either too slow or worn down to properly keep up to demands. In that setting I'd wager their stones would probably last them at least 5 years where they'd probably go through 20 normal waterstones in the same timeframe And while longevity is important, especially with how pricey these stones are, the biggest appeals to them is that they are diamond abrasive so it can sharpen any steel, minimal loading, excellent feedback, a pretty good finish, splash and go, not to mention being super fast cutting. Compared to Venevs which have decent speed, okay feedback, very nice finish, but load up fairly quick. So all things considered it's SS tier as a sharpening stone and imo a must have for professionals that go through so many stones and work with different knife steels. For most regular folks Venevs are a more practical option since you're looking at 350-ish(phoenix) or 750-ish(dragon) for a full set from coarse to extra-fine compared to 1500 for the full set of SVDS. Of course unless you're a huge sharpening and knife nerd that the other factors are a big priority for you

@@EngineersPerspective701 I actually asked the Portland Knife House about the super vitrified stones they got from TripleB, they said that they're still using the SAME ones that he gave to them for testing! So your estimation that they're gonna last a decade or two, maybe even three, for personal sharpening is quite likely

Go to triplebhandmade.com he has to make a special order and import them from Japan so he only does one or two batches per year. They sell out in minutes so you really have to follow him on insta to get the heads up.

The only place you can get them is www.triplebhandmade.com He orders them in batches so if you really want one it’s best to watch his KZbin channel “Big Brown Bear” or better yet his Instagram “TripleBHandmade”
