tow haul mode is screwed up if you use cruise control... if you encounter a downhill grade the engine races (correction, screams!) like it's ready to fly out from under the hood. ford says that's normal and I would agree if the intent was to throw a rod through the side of the block. just keepin' real. let's also discuss error code P2005 and P2007 the intake manifold runner controls, a $2000 repair on a 2016 F150 5.0L SC. the problem can be traced back to the year 2004 from what I've found and yet it's not a recall item. extend that warranty!!!

timers.shop/FORD-F-150-Drive-Mode-Memory-Module-Column-Shifter-5-modes_p_41.html This memorizes the LAST used mode you were in. NOT FOR AUTO START vehicles. If you auto start your truck, it bypasses this and it doesn't remember your last setting. I know, it sucks, but I didn't invent it.

That's a good point. I guess it's better for your truck to switch back to normal as opposed to keeping it in Tow/Haul and burning unnecessary fuel if you forgot about it. That's just my guess.

I don't think so :( I think the reason behind this is Normal will work in all situations, whereas the others are more specific. You wouldn't want to accidentally leave it in Tow/Haul if you are driving 16 hours across Canada, or Eco if you were hauling a trailer behind you.

Yeah, I was wanting that 4A in my XLT, but then I learned 4H is all I needed for a spinless launch off the line. If you just want it for everyday driving in constantly changing weather, then you gotta upgrade.

I had no idea putting it inot snow/wet mode automatically put it in 4wd auto. That's a nice feature.

Hey Troy! What level of trim do you have on your truck? Is it a Lariat or an XLT package? The answer is different depending on the trim you have on your truck

@@barbertroy6145 Only Lariats and up have the ability to show a boost gauge in the gauge cluster. You can always get the Torque app and a bluetooth OBDII scanner if you wanna see all the infos.

Any undesirable results come from changing driving modes back and forth while on the road? I like to keep it in Eco mode while cruising then switch to sport to pass someone then back to Eco. May go back and forth 2-4 times while driving to work.

I've never heard or saw any negative side effects from switching between them. This doesn't make your transmission or engine work more or less, it just optimizes the performance to what you're doing. I could see there being an issue if you switched between them every 10 seconds, but not 2-4 times during a ride into work.

No. It's all electronic, it just changes the throttle input sensitivity and transmission shift points. There's no mechanical anything happening.

I'm sure by now you figured out what snow mode does on a 2 wheel drive? It slows down you shifts. Specially when you stop and start. It will keep you from spinning your wheels but it's really an upsell on a 2 wheel drive. Unless you get the best snow/ ice tire and that's the blizzak DMV 1 or 2 and put weight on the rear axles Than you will see the difference. Stay safe.

Anyone know if a 2015 XLT has Eco mode? I know it has sport mode, but I never bothered to check for any other modes, I just push the button on the column shifter to turn sport on and off.

It does not. Only modes 15-17’s have are normal, tow haul and sport. You aren’t missing out on anything by not having eco mode though lol.

If you have the Ford F150 with Ecoboost, Normal Drive Mode will actually get better gas mileage than the Eco Drive Mode setting.

Similar kind of idea, but a little different. TMS is specifically for what kind of terrain you're driving on, whereas the Driving Modes are for what you're using your truck for. Both use the CPUs to change your vehicle's performance to get the most out of your driving experience.

All those modes and none of them shift right! On my 2017 the normal mode should be eco because that’s what it is, sport mode is fine but you can’t use it for daily driving because it holds gears way too long from 40-60 mph it hangs in 6 th up to 2500 rpm just barely on the throttle,it won’t shift to 7 th til almost 60 than its in 10 th by 70. The regular mode has the truck chugging along in 9th by 42 mph and in 10 th at46 mph and it’s laboring alone at less than 1100rpm There needs to be a normal mode that splits the difference between sport mode and the regular mode.

Sport mode should only be used going uphill. And I don't mean on your neighborhood hill. I use it going over mountain passes here in Washington state when I go over to eastern Washington. I go around 70 mph and the truck drives like it was on a straight flat road rather than going uphill struggling to shift and that's the reason the shifts are longer. They should of called it uphill mode on the f-150 trucks because on my mustang it does make a difference from eco to sport but on my f-150 is meant for uphills.
