How is Fisker not commenting on this at all?? I guess our small country here doesn't matter to them. Basically telling Canada, we don't care about you, unless maybe you want to buy an Extreme. Cdn res holder since Jan.2020. I wouldn't drop the extra for the One, too much money for little extra benefit in my opinion. Now, what do I do? Hold onto to my Bolt EUV that can't make it 300km in the winter? Hope that Canoo makes it, and eventually starts selling cars to individuals and not just Corporations, and actaully cares CDN? I really don't like Telsa, and not crazy about supporting the gas makers......feel like I am in no mans land!

This wait is getting on my nerves. Not only are they announcing this price cut, but I'm hearing word that some Extreme trims are almost about to be delivered. Part of getting the One was the chance to get this car sooner, but with them having my car in production for almost a month now and getting no updates about it it's harder to hear news like this. It's the lack of clear communication that's really getting at me. I went with the One because I was willing to go through some growing pains with Fisker, and really believe in what they're trying to do. I wouldn't mind the delays or price cuts for other models as much if they'd trust me with a clearer picture of what's going on. I'm concerned that this communications strategy of theirs is designed to mask any bad news from short sellers and to help protect against volatility with their stock price. Given that that's a major source of capital for them and can hamper or hurt their ability to raise more funds I can understand wanting to protect that. I'm worried though that in the long term a lack of clear communication and good customer service has the potential to both hurt the very thing they're likely trying to protect here as well as annoying/driving away their best customers.

For the record, I played Cyberpunk 2077 at launch and never had any trouble, it ran flawlessly for me. This actually reinforces your point though! Many One owners have never had a single problem. But MANY have, and often get crickets from Fisker. But while the problems are expected to some extent, the crickets are horrifying.

Pity most those Canadians living in Quebec who wanted and Ultra, because now with the price increase and the inability to order it at the old price, they miss out on I believe a $7000 cad provincial ev rebate. The price bump in the Ultra pushes It over the threshold, so poof Fisker can pretty much kiss goodbye any potential Ultra buyer in Quebec. And inexplicably in Canada we are unable to buy anything but an Extreme. Not sure why this is the case unless it has something to do with the Sport and Ultra not yet receiving clearance to sell in Canada? But what Fisker should do is honour those of us with a long standing reservation. We've been patient...

It’s disappointing for certain. The North American allocations of the sport and ultra were likely spoken for back in August of 2022 when the US tax credit was announced to be changing, and US customers could convert their reservations to deposits. The sport and Ultra sold out in less than 2 days. It’s not fair at all for those in Canada not to have an opportunity to take advantage of original pricing, and in some cases, additional incentives. Exactly my situation. The slight price increase pushes the ultra just above the Quebec tax incentive threshold (65000$). I am now considering a cancellation and I am looking at buying the « corolla » of EV (the model Y)….

Thank you for another substantive video. In a way, pricing strategy works to attain sales objectives, but it's a bit of a joke to adjust pricing when the cars are not even readily available. It would be nice if Fisker established their inventory first before playing around with their pricing. It could be that they have attained their initial sales targets and that is why introductory pricing has ended. Time will tell if their strategy pays off, but in the grand scheme of things, they are facing a strong headwind.

Also Canadian with 7-DEC-2021 reserve. I have an Ultra w/ trailer hitch and winter package built out I will wait till Nov 6th to see if I can lock in my order. If not I'll process a cancellation. We went ahead with a Tesla Y RWD in the summer because my Audi -bless her heart- was not going to make it to meet the new baby Fisker. I was planning to follow your recommended hold both for 30 days, sell one tactic as it is pretty hard to justify the gas savings on your 2nd electric vehicle. This is just disappointing execution all round; I shouldn't be finding this out from you good sir this should be upfront, from the company.

Always a great view. Thanks for your video. I find it Supremely amusing that the price cuts come two weeks after I canceled my Fisker Ocean One order. Not that they're related, but I'd love to hear the number of cancelations in the 5k pool. Also find it amusing to see Facebook posts with people whose cars are in the 3k-4k sequence number range where as my early 500s was never delivered or given a date for delivery. Finally, I'm incredibly ticked that Fisker was fine to take my $5k order fee with out pause. I'm now on a mission to ensure nobody I know ever buys the snake oil that this firm is selling. As I told the Fisker not-so-radgivers in my cancelation note, shopping for another brand's EV.

Tesla Y long range price is much lower than the Fisker Ocean One or Extreme and about the same size. With all the issues the Ocean One is having with the promised features only someone that does not care about the much higher cost of the Fisker One would buy one. A Fisker One is just a novelty now. I suspect a large number of Fisker One preorders are not being purchased and they are forfeiting their $5000 deposit. This is why Fisker is releasing them as “Fisker Extreme.”

I am okay with the range. I think the estimate is probably closer to the real world range. Model Y RWD will be a great vehicle, I recommend driving the Tesla to see if there’s anything about the minimal design choices that break the deal for you, and also, the charging network is certainly worth considering. If you plan to travel a lot, look to see what the charging looks like for electrify America, EVGO, etc. before you lock in the Fisker. Both cars will be fun and great to own. The Ocean will get lots of attention, the Y RWD will be more inconspicuous. Both have the LFP battery, so no difference there. Hope this helps. Cheers!

The subscription model is such a rip off. These guys think that you need to pay for a second house in a car format. The argument is that subscriptions are needed so you the consumer have get the "right" to use equipment. However you outright purchased that equipment. #SCAM. If I have to pay to energize that equipment and I pay to maintain that as well then I own it. No subscription fee's are required.

I'm also getting the message to confirm payment method but with the EPA range at 230 for the Sport I'm no longer sure I'm going to stay with Fisker (I was originally expecting around 280 and was willing to come down to 250). Can you talk about the price drop from the perspective of a sport\ultra reservation holder. Fisker won't let me upgrade my reservation to Ultra but they might still upgrade me to Extreme, does that make more sense now after the price cut if we still get federal tax credit along with it? Edit: looks like my Fisker sport is confirmed and I can't upgrade to the Extreme either. I guess I'm going to start looking at the Tesla Y again.

At the moment i'm driving the Lynk & Co 01 and was really looking forward to owning the Ocean. with all the troubling new the last few weeks i've decided to hold off on the Ocean and wait to see what else happens in the market. Lynk & Co are supposedly coming with an full electric version next year so i'm going to see what happens there.

I am not certain of this, but as I understand it, USA Fisker Ocean One orders are eligible for the $7500 Federal Tax Credit that was available at the time the order was placed. I have an Extreme in production, that I ordered in July 2023, and I am not eligible for the Federal tax credit. I believe that the Ocean One is more heavily optioned, than the Extreme that I ordered. The Extreme that I ordered, also cost more than the Ocean One, and I had wished that I would have been able to order in Ocean One. My opinion is, that the $7500 price reduction is equal to the tax credit available to US manufactured EVs to overcome the buyer's purchase apprehension, because of the Tax Credit ineligibility. And rather than price it that way at the beginning, this price reduction midstream, makes the change obvious to buyer's interested in the tax credit. Also retain buyers that have Extremes on order, to continue with the purchase process. I believe Fisker will more that make up for the loss of revenue, when the start selling the lower trim Oceans. I contrast this approach to Tesla's historic dramatic price reduction, and the buyer's remorse all must have felt, that purchased just prior to the Tesla's announcement. I think Fisker has a superior strategy, alienating fewer, while increasing their future revenue. I appreciate your content and objective commentary.

This is 100% accurate. Every Ocean one in the US was eligible for a $7500 tax credit, as the contracts were all completed before August 16th 2022. This will effectively make the extreme the same price as the One for those who had the tax liability to claim the credit. Thanks for your feedback, Cheers!

I ordered my FOO with the understanding i would be able to claim on my taxes and get the $7500. Since I bought another EV in 2022 and used up my Fed tax rebate, I am no longer able to claim this. I didn't pay in enough to claim twice. This was another factor, albeit that it was not Fiskers fault, I decided to donate my $5000.

I am pretty sure that you will get the discount. otherwise you should cancel the order (and probably loose the reservation fee) and make another one with the lower price. Therefore I think they will grant you the lower price. In Austria, they definately do.

Another terrific, honest video. When I heard about the price drop on the extreme, I started to regret my decision a couple weeks ago to buy a 2024 ioniq five. After listening to this video, I’m fine with my decision. Perhaps monthly prescriptions to drive a vehicle will be the wave of the future. I am not a fan. FYI, after I bought the Hyundai , I received an email from the Fisker Los Angeles customer service with my Vin number. However, even though I upgraded to an extreme a couple months ago, the Vin number and the confirmation was for an ultra. My gut feeling tells me not to regret giving up --for now-on Fisker.

I ordered a Volvo EX30 top of the range in June at launch and it has been built and now resides on a slow boat from China. It might arrive before Christmas. Will it still have teething issues, yes, but there are four Volvo dealerships within 40 miles, Fisker, well they are 300 miles away

The big issue is going to be service! Fisker will never be able to build service centers fast enough to handle problems country/world wide. If you have an issue, which you eventually will, your 80K brick will sit and sit and sit. Uber? That does not make it feel better or get you going again in YOUR 80K purchase.

Didn't the Ocean One's get a few options for free and a free/discounted delivery? I think there was some value there, though maybe not $7500 worth. Not sure how you handle this as a company, if there's other outside factors at play (tax rebates, etc.). Maybe just work a deal to give One buyers charging credits with Fiskers local charging partners.

Adam, I understand that all the existing ONE owners or even Extreme owners in the que will be getting a check back in the mail to compensate for the price drop. As part of this conversation I'm at a quandary and commented yesterday on your short video for same. I'm currently committed to an Ultra and received the notice to proceed and pay. Yup, In my province (Quebec) in the great White North we have incentives from both provincial ($7k) and federal ($5k) government but the provincial one is only for vehicules < C$65k .. so the Ultra looked really good until yesterday. Price hike to 68k so that 7K is gone... So price out the door had jumped at least 11K which makes the Ultra not a interesting purchase at this price point. I've had a reservation since Sept '22. I can't convert it right now and Fisker hasn't responded to my inquiries about doing it before Nov 6th. Tough decisions coming soon...

similar situation for me, reserved may 2022, but I believe in BC we go up to $70K for SUV's so the $4000 provincial rebate should still be in play here.

Someone at Fisker has not researched Canada provincial rebate price limits. They also have not researched what Rivian has gone through with their price increases and not honoring pre-increase reservation holders. Or they calculated that the increase is a positive offset vs pissed off reservation holders. I truly hope that Fisker will succeed. Great car with many great thoughts and ideas. They have a small window before more models are landing on our shores and once Chinese EVs come with their value proposition it may be a tougher market for the new manufacturers. Better for the consumer though.

I canceled my ultra deposit in the spring as I still have range anxiety and due to the evolution of battery technology at lower prices and new models with lower prices than the Fisker coming out on a regular basis. I kept my reservation for the long range Aptera (1000 miles) as it won’t be delivered until likely end of next year and will have the opportunity to take advantage of newer and safer battery technology.

I think that fisker also wants to reduce models. As there is less difference between extreme and ultra, people either would choose soprt or extreme.

I agree. I have no idea why they would offer 3 (4 with the One) models. 1 model with variations would have been wiser I think. Perhaps 2. I also think that diluting their resources across 3 other new lines of vehicles so early was not smart. Concentrate on building one solid model and the support infrastructure and then introduce new lines.

Also a Canadian that is probably saying good bye to the initial fee and not buying. With the way things are moving with rates and limited liquidity available for companies like Fisker, I think their days may be numbered. I would be worried about them lasting through 2024.

The subscription topic is new to me in the context of this brand. Is that an inevitability and are your cost numbers simply examples or rather data supported fee models for Fisker users? If fees will be required to access features offered in the on-line build then that is a total 100 % guarantee that I will not proceed to close and I imagine many others will also not.

Great Question: The screen shot I showed in the video is straight from the manual. I assume there will be subscriptions for the cellular service in the vehicle, just like Tesla does. tesla did same bait and switch early ramp of M3 alluding people into the LR/high-margin model. there was no and still there isn't any $35k model! i guess Ocean Sport trim isn't a much money maker vehicle also with it's price tag, but companies like to put out "starting at" claims. on another note, speculating more than necessary might bring more harm to the One owners than the actual $7.5k price cut, if you know what I mean...

As a ONE buyer, who hasn't received the car yet after putting a 5000$ deposit almost 15 months ago, I will more likely drop my reservation and lose 5250$ (will try to fight to get it back). The fact they haven't announced service center in my area, together with the numerous bugs, missing functionalities up to day, not to mention the downgraded hardware versus what it was "suggested" all those months before the delivery, makes me think the car doesn't worth the initial price anymore, specially with the latest price adjustments. For those who want to fight the deposits, submit your claims to BBB, the Federal Trade Commission and your State General Attorney; I guess the more people is involved on this, the more noise will raise somewhere and it might end up in reaching some kind of agreement... I hope.

I'm wondering if one idea of the price change is due to them wanting to get in the Chinese market Q1 2024. They would have to lower cost due to Chinese ev's are really good for lower cost than the Ocean. Also Tesla in the Chinese market is lower as well. Just my take on it.

A good take but the prices they sell for in China would not need to be the same as in North America, Europe etc. They could sell for cheaper there and be higher in the US (vice versa). Oceans (excuse the pun) make markets very different in pricing as do the governments/politics in those markets.

Yes, when in a contract one must honour it legally and morally but when the terms change and the good will is lost, one is inclined to walk away from the contract. In this case, leaving small to large deposits behind. That is part of the contract accepted terms. The emotions and outcry associated with this is part of human nature and part of the goodwill businesses rely on to build a brand. Contracts aside, goodwill and trust are far more valuable to a company, especially at such a crucial time in its growth.

Am i critical towards him in having too much rsponsiblity? Yes. But @ Tesla he has taken the appropraite steps to broaden the base of responsibility. And frankly i admire Elon for his goals and how he religiously follows them. I fully endorse his positon that the kids are the most important part. All our kids. I do not know why he is painted the enemy of the people for this position towards life and mankind. I do not know how he is being immoral, but then i do not follow his person or most of his shenanigans. Sometimes i hear or see him in the Cybertruck or speaking to heads of state, but thats mostly all. Is he sometimes silly or even stupid? Of course - He is a MAN.
