What Does Thrawn Have in those Coffins? I Think I Know...

Ahsoka episode 6 really opened many new doors for us to theorize...and one of those things are the coffins the night troopers were carrying and loading onto Thrawn's ship...

I always thought the Bendu's prophecy was regarding the purrgil and the many arms were their tentacle like appendages. I would not put it past Dave to have a far reaching plan with that scene or to even change the meaning for a better story, but in the scope of Rebels he was defeated when many arms grabbed him and brought him to the cold of space

Not the ones we already know about, but people like Talon, Revan & more of the OG Sith that are considered legendary. It seems like they’ve set it up so that all of Thrawn’s crew/troopers were killed (one way or another-their destroyed trooper armor shows this). The witches used magic to transfer their dead sisters into these “Magick-repaired trooper shells” and the “coffin cargo” are the sacred bodies of these dead sisters. The Night Troopers are all “spirit gas” like Marrok, and they’re loyal to Thrawn because he cut a deal with the witches to get them out of there. I really hope we get to see Ahsoka/Sabine/Baylan/Shin mow through a gas-filled unit of Night Troopers.

Also pragmatic. Peridea has clearly been laid waste to by *something* and the Great Mothers want to leave. The Chimera is badly damaged. In particular the three main engines are visibly ruined. So it is doubtful that Thrawn has been able to explore this other galaxy. He would have needed to make a deal in order to get essential support from the Great Mothers. They also seem less megalomaniacal than Palpatine and Vader, and are respectful towards Thrawn. He likely sees them as more useful than the Sith.

@@LukiKruki - Obviously. But for the decade before the Eye of Sion was built, Thrawn was stuck in a distant galaxy with an ISD that was in *very* bad shape. Without the main engines, he wouldn't have been able to make any hyperspace jumps. So the Chimera would have been stuck at Peridea. The idea for a massive hyperspace ring was doubtless sent to Morgan by the Great Mothers in visions because the Chimera would need one to get back to the SW galaxy. Even if it's main engines were working, the intergalactic jump would be too far for it to make on it's own.

@@LukiKruki - Thrawn wants to reestablish the Empire back in the SW galaxy. He has no desire to stay in this new galaxy and he clearly doesn't want to remain on Peridea. Given his age, he would likely never come back during his lifetime, although perhaps some future Imperial ruler would seek to expand the Empire to make it intergalactic.

Thrawn said that they were loading the caskets as per his agreement with the Great Mothers. So that implies that whatever they contain belongs to the Dathomiri and not to Thrawn. Peridea is a desolate world and that citidel seems to be all that is left (semi-)intact of the Dathomiri civilization. Whatever ruined the place, the Great Mothers would clearly rather relocate to the SW galaxy. So what if those caskets contain witches in stasis? The actual Nightsisters of Dathomir were largely wiped out at the command of Count Dooku. Could these caskets contain replacements?

I have a theory that morgan probably called the spirit of Maul to use as Marrok. I could be wrong but during his fight with ahsoka the way Marrok set into his fighting stance and the way he fought mimicked Mauls. Thus, the green smoke that poured out of his wound was the essence/spirit of Maul. Just something to ponder on.

Definitely feels like the Great Mother containers are going to be used to tie Nightsister magick to Sheev's resurrection. At the end of Mando s3, Pellaeon refers to Hux's Project Necromancer. If there has ever been a way to describe SW magick it would be necromancy. As much as we all want to call 7-9 fan fiction, the shows of late have been tying the universe back to the sequels in an attempt to forge a phantom chain from 6-7-8-9

The tv has introduced ,into live action a lot of likable characters new and old , especially on the good guy side like Cobb Vanth, Greef etc . I felt like we needed some respectable bad guys . Now we got Thrawn, Elsbeth, Baylan and Shin ( for now 🤷‍♂️) Enoch , Nightsister mothers .. this is great. Wasn't Darth Maul suppose to be in George's version of the sequel trilogies? It'd be cool if he was somehow brought back but i feel like he's been brought back enough already. Like survives being cut in half via dark side, brought back to full strength with new legs from night sisters, takes over mandalore, gets stranded in that sith temple, survives that, gets stranded on Tatooine, survives that long enough to find Kenobi, then finally dies via Kenobi. Like I love his arc but I feel bringing him back might be beating a dead horse. IDK. I'd still love it if they found a way to bring in a version of starkiller. The similarities and differences between him and Ashoka would be a cool contrast.

What caught my attention was Thrawn admonishing Sabine for bringing the Doom of her Galaxy just to find her friend Ezra. I would think that Thrawn would feel his return would be positive for their Galaxy. I'm wondering if the nightsisters are really the greater threat and will bring destruction with them. I’m surprise a lot of people didn’t pick up on this. There’s hints that the ancient nightsister kingdom probably ruled the Star Wars galaxy in the past. (They have temples in the Star Wars galaxy) Possible the early Jedi’s beat them back to their galaxy. I believe Thrawn is bringing an ancient back to the Star Wars galaxy.

This is a fascinating theory that I would love to see played out onscreen. My only concern is that we have only 2 episodes left in the season. Will there be enough TIME for Dave to include what would be the closest thing we’ve had to a “side plot” in the whole series? There are still so many other stories that need to be resolved, or at least set up for another season. I really hope these final episodes both have long running times. And while I know Disney/Lucasfilm has held off on announcing whether they’ll order a Season 2 of Ahsoka until they see the audience reaction and viewership of this season…well, they would be fools not to, as the show has already proven to be a huge success.

It somewhat reminds me of the books. However, in this case thrawn has allied with not a force user like Ccboath, but rather magic users in the form of these grand witches. I think thrawn will cause a lot of chaos and won't snuff out quickly. It'll be reminiscent of the books, and his fate will end with the witches betraying him potentially.

I think thrawns deal with the grandmothers was to link his soul to a deity. More specifically something like the son and daughter. I think it could very well be linked to an ancient witch. I don’t think thrawns troops are resurrected. And I don’t think his troops are like savage oppress. I think they are probably a combination of the two. Maybe like a husk or some form of hive mind. When Sabine received her dog thingy there was that one trooper standing oddly in front of it. That scene is hiding something that reveals their origin.

To resurrect them would be awesome! But in the case of resurrecting Maul, would he still be completely on board with all they're doing? I mean his last words in Obi-Wan's arms somehow makes me think if he returned, he wouldn't be the same, specially seeing the confirmation of what Obi-Wan told him. ok, this will sound silly, but it piggy backs off the resurrection of a dark Jedi, Sith, potentially Darth maul. However, what if its not maul...what if it's The Emperor himself. Now hear me out, he did speculatively use a "magic" to access the world between worlds. Who's to say he knew more about night sister magic than was let on? Who's to say the emperor was already dead and that's why he feared the night mother so much. And Thrawn is incredibly devoted to the empire, so much so to make a deal with the night mothers and form the night troopers. And all part of his "experiments". What if we are about to witness the first clone resurrection of Palps? That would be a left hook and open a whole can of worms.
