Now that CarX Street has been launched on both iOS and Android, we need to talk about CarX Street PC version. What happened to the PC version that was supposed to release 3 years ago? Well sometimes profit and monetization can get in the way of game development.

In the past, games were on discs, so if it wasn't finished, it couldn't be sold, because then the game disc would be returned to the store and the game developers would have a lot of trouble solving this issue. It would be very expensive to remake the game again and burn it to discs. Even now, console games that have discs are meant to authorize the game and then download it from the store. If there are any problems, they try to fix them with DLC or updates. All games on PC are digital, so it's easy to release a game that isn't finished. The publisher gets the money, can pay the shareholders and keep promising that everything will be fine. I think the last big hit was Cyberpunk 2077

It’s a good update and it’s sad because CARX drift racing is such a good game and it’s sad a good game company can’t literally just make a game finished when they say so. Either don’t lie and don’t put a date if it’s not ready. OR lie for hype and realize everyone feels betrayed and no one cares anymore about the game which is most games now days and they just release unfinished games that don’t even work and have to get many updates to even work like they were supposed to.

Was talking with friends a while back before Street was released and a friend of mine told me he was 100% confident there would be a mobile release first just like the original CarX. So I'm not really surprised, I'm sure we will see a PC release at some point. Hype may be gone but guaranteed as soon as it comes out all us CarX players will hop on it in a heart beat.

It sucks it didnt release yet, but they also are making an open-world game for the first time & are struggling to release it on android as well it not being optimized on IOS either. It runs good but is glitchy & needs constant fixes which delays updates further. This is probably a good lesson to carx for future games to release as they would have a broader thought of releasing games & such. This is just my opinion towards what I have been hearing about the game, I practically finished the game on IOS but it still needs to receive a lot of bug fixes.

I actually dug through the files of car x street on android and it had alot of mention of ps 4/5 and xbox series x/one x which leads me to believe that a console version would come sooner than the pc version and also seems like the console version would be just a better textured and upscaled mobile version while the pc may be sharing the assets with the mobile game but probably and hopefully also make it more suitable for pc with better particle effects, shaders and ui(that ui would be god awful on pc) and if that is the case then I'm willing to wait some more for the pc release

Maybe I'm pretty naive about what's going on, but I strongly assume that the developers still hope for financial opportunities for the development of the pc/console version through ingame purchases in order to at least finish the basic game and finally publish it

Probably they wanted to focus on the mobile market first and release it in a still WIP state. When there are game devs out there that want to make a game for MULTIPLE platforms, they would usually go for the one that is more easier to build it for or the platform they started off first with, and work their way up to other platforms later on from there. GTA SA back in the day was originally built on PS2. Which btw shares similar files to the previous games so it was easier for them to build with the assets at hand. They focused first on the PS2 platform so they can get the engine/world of the game going. THEN they got the files from the original build to make them available on other platforms like OG Xbox and PC. Hell, they even re-released the game later on for PS3/X360/PS4/X1. However, their biggest mistake was to destroy the game's graphics and release it extremely buggy. People weren't happy with the releases of PS3/X360/PS4/X1. Vadim M has a video about it, recommend checking out the details if you haven't yet known of it. Now CarX is doing a similar thing most likely, just like how they started off on the CarX journey back on the first version of the game for the phone. They knew that phone was profitable so they went there first with CarX Drift and the other CarX games they released over the years. Now, as mentioned earlier, they're doing it again most likely by getting profits from the mobile market first so that they can focus on PC and Console after. Game was already in the works when they announced the next game back when they announced it. Also, due to the 2020 delay, the team may have very well been affected by development hell because of you know what happened in the year of 2020; so the only choice they had at hand was delay delay delay. This feels like Bungie back in 2000s when they were working on Halo still, with the exception of covid. Please do mind that this is strictly my opinion and theory and any way to try and degrade me and my opinion/theory will just result in me not replying at all if you hope to trigger me with the "copium, hopium" bs. Problem is hyping it out as a PC game showing and only talking about it being a PC game, then suddenly telling us "lulz, mobile game", also set a longer release date, they specifically wait till the release date is about to happen and then delay, this makes everyone talk about how the game is gonna launch soon, hyping it up for nothing. I think what happend is. They are doing a _"Dumb move"_ what i mean is .their skill on making game on PC is still kinda limited. They were originaly a mobile game studio but for what ever reason they decided to make a big project on PC first which is kinda unfamiliar to them. *(know they released CarXdrift on PC but thats a diffrent case. They already had the finnished version of the game. Which is the Mobile version of itm all they need to care is how to smoothly porting it to PC. While CarXstreet in other hand were a pure brand new re-work/project)* And because of that they were start running out of budget. after developing such a big project in the _"Unknown teritory"_ Of PC and Console. For 3 years. And seem to not find the issue about what is actually going on with their game and faced with 2 very hard choise. *"Its just my theory on what i though possibly happend on their studio and they dont say about whats is actually happening"* 1.continue canceling the game or straught up canned the game until they got enough budget to continue the game. 2.Released a rushed version on their _"Well know teritory"_ so they can get extra budget

Well, It's understandable there are some issues and the hype is probably dead for now but hype is easy to build with today's social media. Just have to pay some influencers to relive the moment. What is important is to be patient because understanding expectations and delivering on it is quite difficult for any project. Even if its delayed by another year, I would still come back to it because no one has made the concept so far close to what CarX street is doing. Thanks for the awareness.

I have the privilage to play the mobile version, and it's not the most polished, I'll give that. But man oh man, it is still great! It gave me the fun I had with Underground 2, and the graphics is something else. It definitely needs some major overhauls, tweaking and content addition, but I just love it!

to be completely honest as a software developer myself I kind of understand what is happening right now with CarX Street release. it is hard to launch a game of this magnitude when it’s a pioneering act like this, where they are delivering such gameplay quality to smartphones; that are tiny (makes cooling difficult), not that powerful devices. as for now with the game launched they need to focus their small team on the core of the game first, that as you said is still buggy and laggy. we’ll have to wait for a lot of weeks and release cycles to see the game fully developed and experience proper gameplay. but to be honest and based on the 30+ hours I’ve played of the game I have to say thats one of the greatest work I’ve seen in mobile gaming for sure. the thing is that it is from a small development studio, we have to understand that masterpieces are difficult to accomplish when your resources are limited

The main reason why games get released unfinished is that you can update the games but 15 years ago the developers couldn’t update a game that easy because the internet connection of a game back then was very poor

Good to know I'm not the only person thinking about how games use to be made Goose! I don't know what or why every game company does this now but it's Infuriating😡. Explain to me how we have better tech now but nothing works? Some games look so good they're almost hard to tell if it's real or not but developers can't make a game anymore that works! This type of game is very hard to make. Even huge developers have trouble finishing on time and releasing a non buggy game of this scale. Just don’t pay attention and wait till it’s released and even then it’s going to be a while before it’s going to be polished with updates and such.

I remember playing this game on my ipad 6 months ago and it had only 30 fps locked , so I uninstalled it hoping 60fps would be enabled after the update. I installed it yesterday and man o man, the game looks beautiful and plays lag free and smooth. I have never rooted for a game this long except for The Elder Scrolls 6 😢.

I have iPhone and was super excited to play it. When I downloaded it i had fun for a week or 2 but then stopped cause I just really don’t like playing with mobile controls, I just really wanted it to release on pc and especially switch cause I like playing car x on the go while having actual controls but after all these delays I’ve just been disappointed . Alright,so I've played the game on mobile. I uninstalled it after trying to beat the first boss because of the insane rubberbanding, i had like 2 perfomance rating lower than recommended and when racing her she would crash on traffic, I'd gain a huge distance and she would rocket through that same distance at a huge speed. Corners didn't affect that speed at all.

I think what happened here was that they realized they didnt have enough budget to develop (perfecting) the pc version, so they choose to go with the mobile version first since its more profitable so they prob can make money quicker (which is why even on mobile release, it seems like they 'rushing'), so maybe pc/console version won't come out until they can get all things perfect and microtransaction running as they expect on mobile version, but eh I'm just speculating here

well this game is like a mobile banking app on mobike version. mine have installed before the release date yet (i haven't played the game) n when it being released global, it can't run on my phone cuz "there's another similar data on the same devices" yea sumthin' like that.

i was lucky with the game bc i have an ipad, but yeah it's half polished for me sometimes the game wouldnt render objects when you drive fast, so its often to see missing or very blurry textures from time to time, even with rendering distance set to max
