What happened to Wii and why people did not develop games for it? The reason is simply: Nintendo being Nintendo. The Wii was my very first consol. I may not play it much anymore, but I always think of it as the family consol, it had a lot more charming and fun games than our had action packed games. Nintendo,I tip my hat to you.

Nice video but I think graphics are at least relatively close to gameplay in terms of importance. The gameplay is obviously more important, but I can't stand to look at some the really old games. They're fun, but they're also murky and they just have no suspension. Your video makes sense, but I don't think that developers should completely disregard graphics.

Sony PS3's main selling point was it being a multimedia player and it's story driven exclusives. It was advertized as the best Blu-ray player(something that none of the other 7th gen consoles had), backward compatibility and it had a fully working internet browser that even allowed you to play flash games with a keyboard and mouse.

For me gameplay, story (if used), and a level of enjoyment/fun is all that is needed for a game to work. You know there are people saying Batman Arkham Asylum sucks on the PS3 because the Xbox 360's graphics are "better". THEY'RE THE SAME EXACT GAME!!

Well I agree, I think basically what happened was Nintendo left their core gamer demographic to focus only on the "casual gamer". The wii came out and the mainstream even people who just wouldnt ever play games (like nans and grandads), lapped it up. But, the novelty eventually ran out. Now Ninty have realized that they never focused on sophisticated games, they just never researched their "motion gameplay" Idea enough. But I agree the Metroids, Zeldas and MH3 were my only real fav games on wii.

Reminds me of that idiotic story where moral guardians tried to take Nintendo to task for releasing MadWorld due to how violent it was. This is total fail already because Nintendo had nothing to do with the game (SEGA published it), and apparently the console's games can ONLY tailor to its target audience? Hoo boy. Nintendo responded by saying that the Wii is meant "for the family, and we mean the entire family". Lol I guess no one associated hardcore gamers with family oh noes. One thing I feel like mentioning: ironically enough in the neighborhood I grew up in I heard people talk a lot more about their GameCubes and Xboxes than their PS2s, so imagine my surprise when I found out that the PS2 outsold both those consoles by a crap ton.

The wii great idea but it didn't have the big name games everyone knew about us wii gamers were playing 007goldeneye and conduit 1 and 2 instead of the uber popular black opps or battlefield games. Nintendo sacrificed graphices for a working motion controller system

Like you said gamplay is definitely above graphics but graphics do play a role you cant play bf4 on a 16 but game but the wii made it to the good enough mark and gameplay was actually really fun but like ya saud just to little to late wii was on the point of no return declining into the dead console realm and they tried to save it but to little to late

I still think Wii was the best console of it's generation. All the decent exclusives were not just endless clones of FPSes and TPSes like that was on X360 and PS3. I don't care about Assassins Creeds, Call of Duties, Killzones, Halos and whatnot, they're all just the same game over and over again every fucking year until you fucking puke (well, I enjoyed most of them the first time I got to play an installation of a series, like Halo 3 or AssCreed 2, but I don't need more of that shit without any substantional changes). Wii had bitchin' PLATFORMERS, the best of them, fucking best platformers ever made (SMG1-2), ZELDAS, METROIDS, JRPGs that are not just dumbed down Final Fantasies, it had Monster Hunter. Also, I still think Wiimote is the best console controller my hands ever held, sooo damn orgonomic and satisfying to use. The best choice of gaming platforms of previous generation was in my opinion the following: PC + Wii + DS. I had X360 and still have PS3, played all those exclusive stuff, literally NON of which really impressed me. MGS4? The worst in the series. Halo? There is a lot of them, I 'spose, decent FPS games. Killzone? Are you trying to impress me with a straight-face CoD-clone in sci-fi decorations? Really? Oh, well, I guess I said enough. Such a shame that Wii U threw away Wiimote and came with that ridiculous tablet thing. Good thing is it still has great games that are non-available anywhere else.

Personally, I think a better point would be "What happend to Nintendo" and how they got such a massive hard on for gimmicks that I can't enjoy my favorite franchises (Zelda, Mario, Pikmin, etc) without wanting to bash someones head in with the incredibly unresponsive white vibrator that they gave me. I agree on the topic of graphics, but when your entire company now puts all it's chips on cheap gimmicks that aren't even fully developed, it means an entire generation of games for it suffer.
