Dairy and gluten were killing me! I was so sick. I was bloated, constipated, had break outs on my back and they started spreading to my chest, my period was so heavy that I avoided going anywhere during that time of the month due to so many blood clots and feeling extremely exhausted and aching bones and muscles. I stopped eating gluten when I was tested for for allergies and my results were positive. I stopped eating dairy when I was researching what caused body acne and I came across an article that explained the hormones in dairy. Since I’ve cut these foods from my diet I can say that I feel 150% better. No more heavy periods and no body acne! No medication was necessary.

Hey Dr. Mona ! You give off such a good energy. I'm on the other side of the world and I can still feel it. Amazing content and super helpful! When you've mentioned your cortisol spikes at around 5 am, its actually because of the Circadian cycle. Waking up from the sleep state is probably one of the most stressful situations that a body has to go through whence the cortisol levels remain high from around 5 am to 9 am if I'm not wrong. Just thought of sharing this information! Hope it helps

Hello Mona- Thanks for the video and for discussing the importance of hormone imbalance. As a female, hormones are extremely important for us considering they balance our whole system and can affect not only our reproductive system, but also have a huge impact in our digestion and even mental health. Fats are super important (thanks for pointing that out) but please DO NOT tell people to cut off ANY food group. PCOS is a very specific hormone imbalance issue, however, there’s other disorders such as Hypothalamic Amenorrhea which is completely the opposite as PCOS and under which restriction as well as overtraining causes your reproductive system to shut down and for which the best treatment is to incorporate all foods and consume as much calories as your body needs to function properly. The term “swapping” is very counter productive to many females that struggle with disorders like this. I can totally see you have the best intentions by sharing what you know, but you’re NOT an endocrinologist nor a dietician and can’t be telling people to cut carbs, dairy or gluten. This restrictions are reasons why we live amongst a society where at least 30mill people suffer from an eating disorder.

Look into iodine. I have poly fibrocystic breast disease and iodine totally rids my symptoms. I found a good deal on lugols on piping rock and ive been doing 2 drops in water 1x/day. If your currently experiencing symptoms youll notice after about a week of supplementing theyll be gone! Everyone is different and it def depends on how deficient you are but it will take a couple of days to build up in your system to feel results. If i could pick one supplement to take it would be iodine bc it really has made such an impact on my body. Its so exciting to find things that actually work! I hope this might help you! Oh and theres a book called "the iodine crisis" that ive been hearing a lot about so that might be worth checking out! :) www.star2.com/living/viewpoints/2017/02/26/the-iodine-in-womens-health/ UPDATE! I've been using lugols for the last couple of weeks and Idk if my body's not absorbing it or what but woke up yesterday to sore boobies. So I'm on day 2 of taking what I originally took for iodine which is "Mike's Choice Kelp with Iodine" the back says "Iodine (from kelp, potassium iodide) 225mcg" and I take 6 pills/day. I'm not sure why my body is acting depleted when the dose with lugols is much higher. Maybe I just absorb it from kelp better since it's a natural source?

I appreciate your info, but what do I do if I have no gallbladder? I feel best on a plant-based diet. But I guess I haven't figured out yet what my body wants me to be eating. I'm always bloated. Almost always gassy. Almost always feeling tired. I know I can't eat onions unless they are cooked to death. No coffee either because that gives me stomach cramps and a stomach ache. If I eat too much at a time (which I don't do anymore. I now eat small meals more times a day), I get a headache. I am not supposed to eat eggs or dairy or beef or Pork or greasy foods, which is completely fine by me. The dr's said that the reason they had to take my gallbladder out is because of hormones. I had just given birth at 43 for the first time and before that they thought I couldn't have children.

I used to get extreme cravings before my period. I followed my best friend's advice to load up on kale salads a few days before my cycle and it worked for the last 2 months! She said her mom told her who's grandmother told her but we don't know why it works🤦🏽♀️ Do you know why that might work for us?
