( sugar flour ect) and 1 year ago we got precancerous polyp news for my hubby. TERRIFIED ME. So we found forks over night and you and WFPB way of eating. But i am struggling to lose the last 10 lbs. or more. I don't know WHAT I should TRULY weigh. But what you said about eating the same way to maintain as you did to lose.. Not eating fruit as a snack because ...well I can eat lots of bananas and rasins too.. so I'm right there with you.. but I GET IT NOW... I'M SO HAPPY TO ACTUALLY get it.. I haven't used artifical sweeteners for many yrs., but, i did taste a stevia leaf once, in the early 2000;s, yes, it was very sweet.. I finally gave up alcohol, at age 66, even tho for many yrs i had only 1 drink at night, mixed with OJ, i am lucky i wasn't addicted to sodas. sorry to comment so much, well, i guess i did watch this b4, my memory has been injured by breathing in chemicals. take care I been batch cooking all day, back & forth, in & out to the screen room, did some spinning out there while hubby sat in there, after work. 🥔🥦🍠💪👍

I saw your interview about IBS. I also have IBS and have been following Heather Van Vorous. She has helped me tremendously. I want to go Vegan but according to her book, we should be eating white rice and more soluble fiber. How do you manage your IBS with the insoluble fiber foods (beans) on a Vegan diet?
@ArtyAntics4 жыл бұрын
I used to have chronic IBS I found that it was because I wasn’t able to break down fats well so the extra fibre and cutting out oil actually cleared mine up. Beans I had to introduce slowly, I only eat whole grains not white rice. If you struggle with rice you could try quinoa, it’s much lighter on the stomach. Reducing anxiety/stress was also a big factor for me. I really hope you find something that works for you.

Thanks, Chef AJ, for all of the information you share. Have you done an episode on how you prepare healthy meals when you are traveling? I've accepted a new position that requires travel about 50% of the time and my most recent assignment has me away from home for two months. I try to get rooms with a kitchenette, but sometimes all I can get is a small fridge and microwave. If I'm traveling by car I carry my microwave steamer (Tupperware!) and potato baker, some seasonings, knife and cutting board and utensils with me. When I arrive I buy potatoes, veggies, greens, tortillas or wraps and try to carry some home made oil-free hummus when I can. I'd love to hear any additional tips you have, particularly when it involves air travel. I feel like I am carrying so much with me and the small fridge can be a challenge.

Yes you can eat some on sweet potatoes and broccoli but not 3 lb or 1 lb of broccoli and two 3 lb of potatoes you just eat till you're full and if that means you're going to eat a 15 oz bowl of broccoli and potatoes mixed that's all you're going to eat you'll be full after that you don't want to stuff yourself everybody's got a different size stomach see that's what people don't remember they forget about that stuff everybody's stomach is a different size everybody requires different amounts of food just eat the healthy food people eat healthy food and eat to your full constantly be eating vegetables vegetables is going to be in every meal you eat because that's what you eat now you eat vegetables and you're going to put rice and you're going to put potato and you're going to put other grains with it you're going to be fine don't forget your B12

@@CHEFAJ thanks. I heard about this vinegar before. What’s so good about this companies? Really less acidity? I’m at true north now AJ! Doing a 14 day fast. I live in oakland - only one hour away. I went to OHI 5 years ago and heard from people there about True Notth. Back then I thought why would I do a water fast when I’m loving this raw foods / juice fast. Now I get the huge benefit of the water fast. Tomorrow will be day day 9 for me. I can’t believe it! I’m enjoying your videos alot. Everyone knows about you here too.

@@katek3680 It just tastes better to people who don't like our vinegar as it's thick and syrupy. You should come to our monthly meetups you are close enough www.meetup.com/healthy-living-in-lincoln-with-chef-aj/

I really enjoy your programs. I'm eating a plant base whole food diet, I'm into my 6th month, but I haven't lost any weight. I'm also doing the 50 50 plate. is there something I'm not doing right?

What about dishes that call for coconut milk. Particularly curry or butter (not animal) sauces made with coconut milk in the can.
