OMG, please go back and watch the final episode again. They keep saying "shouldn't Ultron just snap his fingers and destroy the galaxy/universe...?". This happens twice, once when he destroys everything because he is being attached by Zombie Scarlett Witch, the team has already taken a portal out of there, and then the second time, Strange Supreme literally consumes the explosion, I thought this was obvious and a badass scene. I think people are underestimating how powerful Strange Supreme is, he can't do it all on his own but clearly he is the main stopping point for Ultron. He makes the armor for the team, can counteract to a degree Ultron using the stones, and has his own time stone. So them acting like Ultron wasn't using the stones to their potential is kind of dumb, he is, but Strange is super powerful too.

For me, my biggest problem with What If is that it it’s connected to the MCU. I’ve been trying to say this since the first season ended but I think if What If wasn’t connected to the MCU, and it was a crossover between Marvel’s Animation’s History and Legacy, it could’ve been a better show. Hell, this could’ve been the reason why we’re getting X-Men 97, and this could’ve allowed us to have an Earth’s Mightiest Heroes Season 2, an actual Season 5 to Avengers Assemble, a Season 3 to Iron Man Armored Adventures, and maybe a Season 3 to Spectacular Spider-Man. It could’ve also encouraged new Marvel fans to watch old Marvel shows including the less popular ones like the Disk Wars Anime, and most of the 90s MAU shows. I originally wanted to keep this a secret, as I was working on a Season 1 rewrite. But I lost my initial script, and I’m planning to rerewrite the script for my Season 1 Rewrite video that I wanted to make for 2 years.

The Absolute Point does not break the time travel rules already set in the MCU. I think KF really gets bogged down with the current stuff and how things connect to the current stuff without letting anything new be added. An Absolute Point is something new they've introduced. I think they explained it perfectly fine in the Doctor Strange episode. It's something that has to 100% happen in that universe. Every universe has one. That universe it was her dying. I hope we get to learn what the one in our MCU timeline is. Is it the snap? Is it Tony dying? Is it something we haven't even seen yet? Like a character going bad and that cannot be changed despite the other characters trying over and over.
@bigchris1453 жыл бұрын
I'm with Nick on what if... I thoroughly enjoyed watching the show and all the possibilities it had going with it and the storytelling it did. It's probably my favorite of the MCU's new TV shows. The one thing I want to say is that Kevin missed a lot of this show for some reason when watching it. For one Doctor Strange in his own episode basically becomes a Supreme Being as he continuously merges with all those Multiverse/ galactic Creatures. That's the reason why he's able to see The Watcher because he's become that strong and that is something that happens to Ultron as well. The only difference is that the Evil doctor strange only has one infinity stone to go along with all the new power, while Ultron has all five to go along with him being merged with the Vision. Also, Ultra Vision does try to snap his finger and destroy the universe but Doctor Strange uses his powers to eat that power and nullify it. That's when Vision realizes he has to take out Doctor Strange to defeat the rest of the people. For me, this show does a really good job of telling a lot of that stuff but you have to pay attention.

Nick was so convinced at how unnecessary these series are to the movies, and now we have Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness where they definitely expect the audience to have seen WandaVision.

I semi see where Kevin is coming from about characters not acting like themselves. I understand the butterfly effect exists but if someone is acting totally out of character then I want to know exactly why. Like party Thor makes sense because his entire life was different but why is Thanos a goon just because Black Panther is Star Lord? I just prefer when it’s clear why someone is different (like Strange and Hank Pym)
@realrobrose3 жыл бұрын
I assumed in the Doctor Strange episode that it was the Ancient One who is making sure that she died, not the universe, because she's the one who refuses to let Strange not become Strange. I thought we were supposed to know as the fans that she's not telling the truth or misinformed about fixed points in time, since we know that there is no "destiny" in the MCU outside of someone existing somewhere being the one forcing that destiny.

What If is a 5/10 for me honestly. I love the concept and think the space they are working in is really cool, but the execution did not hit for me. The voice acting is great (for the most part), but the dialogue and pacing of the spoken dialogue is abysmal. They give 0 time for lines to breathe and the entire show suffers for it. This awkward pacing also appears in the story lines as well, episode 1 was a great example of this, and although it got better with other episodes, it was still an issue. I wish they would slow down, make a compelling story and hang their hats on that rather than trying to hit a quota of X amount of battles each episode, X amount of easter eggs, X amount of call backs, etc. They have endless possibilities with What If, but they felt super limited with what they delivered in S1.

Overall, I would say What if is ok. The art style grew on me, but apart from the penultimate episode, Doctor Strange episode, and the T’Challa Star Lord episode, the show was pretty mid for me. The voice acting varies from rough to pretty good. The show has interesting ideas, but the execution was never that great. I would say it’s my least favorite of the MCU Disney+ shows. I like a lot of the action and the maturity for much of the episodes though. The show can be a fun time, but I don’t think it becomes anything truly great. Hopefully that changes. Marvel has had some truly fantastic animated series with the 90s X-Men and Spider-Man, Spectacular Spidey, and Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. I miss the 2D animation and wish they’d go back to that, but hopefully the show just gets to a level that compares to what came before.

I found the Dr. Strange episode to be a great interpretation of time travel. It's basically Steins;Gate, and that has one of the best concepts of time travel, and I find it to be extremely interesting. The theory of worldlines should be pushed more because it does lead to incredible stories where characters are not able to mess around with time, because it comes with major consequences. In the What If worldline, Strange will always lose Christine because they believe it's the only way for him to become Sorcerer Supreme, and it's because of his arrogance that he doesn't create a better worldline that follows the movies and saves Christine. I'm glad they told it that way because it makes the characters more prone to stakes, of changes or the fear that things won't be able to.

To Tim’s point of people tuning out of the shows and falling off because they don’t care or like them. I’m truly sorry if this sounds gate keep-ish but I don’t care, we were told by fiege himself that these shows are shaping and linking a lot more closely to future movies and honestly that will wheat out the people that are just jumping on it because it’s “trendy” and the ones that have a legitimate love and interest for this universe. I in no way would say I’m a marvel fanboy, but I do think that there cannot be two forms of fans for one property through its lifecycle, things change and people need to realise that this universe, these characters are not solely for them, they are for everyone and reflect the diverse audience that watches them.
