So my mind is completely blown. I have only LISTENED to Kinda Funny on Spotify for the last year, listened to all their content and for the first time I said screw it, I'm going on KZbin to watch this finally. This is my analysis: Tim's voice does not match how he looks, it should be illegal to have a voice that deep Greg looks like my high school graphic design teacher or Andy Serkis (Sorry Nick, sore subject for you) Kevin looks exactly how I pictured him Andy has a lot cooler hair than I would have expected Thought Colin Farrell was a guest on this show, but then I heard the voice and said," Nope, that is just Nick Scarpino" Love you guys and everything you do!

It is funny, most of their criticism about the show has more to do with the baggage and expectations they come in with than the show itself being good or bad. Most other shows don't have to worry about and I wish they would watch these for what they are and not what they think they should be. Also weird they keep bringing up the budget for these shows, they have to be comparing them to the MCU movies and not other shows on TV. Most of the Marvel shows look far better than 90% of the crap that is being released right now. And you are getting some top tier actors for these shows which is great too. Once again this is a problem with their expectations and not necessarily the shows themselves.

My sentiments EXACTLY!! They constantly get hung up on what the shows “didn’t do” in comparison to what they “want to happen” as well as harping on the budget. I have never understood what Nick is talking about when he claims the shows look cheap, no other TV shows minus things like Mandalorian or Game of Thrones have this scope or scale! I want him to watch 1 season of the terrible Titans show or the CW DC shows and then say these MCU shows look cheap!?

I loved how goofy Tony Dalton was as Swordsman! Swordsman is a 4th tier villain turned Avenger and would probably never see the light of day in live action unless it was like this! I actually hope he’s recruited for Vals bootleg Dark Avengers/Thunderbolts team, hes a perfect analog for Hawkeye, only crappier, especially since we don’t currently have a Bullseye in the MCU proper yet.

I could not disagree with some people’s assessment of KingPin. I think Marvel was respectful of what Netflix built and they made him scary and brutal. I think a lot of people remember kingpin as the guy smashing heads in doors but having rewatched season 1-3 of Daredevil. Kingpin does get involved when need be. I think Nick hit the nail on the head, he had a personal stake which is why he got involved.

Exactly! I think Ben Urich can attest to the idea that Kingpin likes to get his hands dirty when he is personally slighted! I loved it, this is more like the comic book Kingpin too: the cane, the insane physical invincibility, it was great!

Wait I'm confused. How does the timeline not line up? The tree was down I think a day or so before Christmas. Doesn't Hawkeye take place after Spiderman NWH?

In NWH its “around” the Christmas/NYE holidays where Hawkeye ends directly on Christmas Eve. The exact order is muddled because in Hawkeye the tree is torn down but the shield on the Statue of Liberty is still up, while in Spiderman NWH the tree is intact while the Statue of Libertys shield is ripped down! lol So what ever order they occur in either the tree or the shield had to be repaired and put back up for it all to work. lol

@@langleymneely to my knowledge Spider-Man no way home takes place right after far from home all the way up to before Hawkeye series. For me there is nothing in the NWH swing scene that implies it's after Christmas it could have easily taken place before the Hawkeye series. Which is pretty much a 1 day 1 episode pace. To explain the status of Liberty. Well it happens maybe more than a month before the end of the movie. When he decides to go to doctor strange to the statue of Liberty its close to a 48+ hour event based on Eddie's visit and other character dialogue. Doctor Strange could have easily rebuilt it back up between the events of Spider-Man to Hawkeye. Who knows. Japan filled a sink hole in a major populated center in 48 hours. It's just a shield on the statue of Liberty. I don't know, for me it's within reason. I could be wrong though. Wait till it comes to streaming.

Actually the Hawkeye Kingpin contradicts where Netflix Kingpin left off at the end of season 3. He should be in prison and if he somehow escaped he should really be in hiding. Im thinking they are going to try to leave it as vague as possible for as long as they can until they are forced to really commit one way or another concerning Marvel TV continuity.

Loved the show and the finale way more than you guys it seems BUT I am in agreement with Greg I wanted a shot of Yelena sitting in the audience reacting with a confused look saying “Ugh, such posers!” Or the exact opposite where she’s totally into it because she is genuinely enjoying her first time in NYC! The only other place I wanted to see her was stepping out of the car with Clint & Kate at the farm to spend Christmas with the Hawkeyes.

Not many people have noticed but the Kingpin in Hawkeye contradicts where he left off in Daredevil season 3. Netflix Kingpin should be in prison still or at least on the run as a fugitive from the law, at no point do you get that feeling. Until confirmed otherwise I am assuming that this Kingpin is NOT the same as his Netflix counterpart, though I expect they will try to keep it as vague as possible going forward. For people freaking out or confused about Kingpin being shot another possible place to see him next besides the Echo series is She-Hulk. I can totally see Kingpin being defended or prosecuted by Jen Walters as well as seeing Matt Murdock getting involved as a fellow defense attorney! I think people are sleeping on all the possibilities of who could cameo in She-Hulk!

It echoes his origins in the comics as Swordsman too. Swordsman started as a villain that trained Hawkeye as a kid in the circus and later became an Avenger for a short time ending with him marrying Mantis (from GotG)! I just love the audacity of using him in this show at all! I hope he gets recruited by Val to join her bootleg Dark Avengers team as a Hawkeye analog! lol

To Agents of SHIELDs credit the last season of that show purposely separated itself from the MCU through their own crazy time travel plot that altered the history of the show as a whole. Matt Murdock and Kingpin aside I think it’s apparent that Marvel TV is at best head canon for whoever needs it to be.

I think all the disconnect you have about Kingpin speaks to the idea that he is NOT the same Netflix character. Netflix Kingpin was put away in prison for a long time at the end of Netflix season 3. This was a far more comic book Kingpin from the cane to his weight and his crazy invincibility! I honestly think we need to brace ourselves for the fact that the Netflix continuity isnt relevant anymore, at best I think they will make vague allusions to things but this show alone contradicts so much of Marvel TV from Daredevil to Clints wife being Mockingbird.

Glad to hear we’re moving back to once a week. Seems like there was a show for every fan of marvel. Wether light hearted and cheesy lines, or grounded and real world issues extending to the full cosmic wider implications for the wider mcu. I’m glad each show exists and fills that checkbox for whatever kind of marvel fan you are. Definitely preferred wandavision and Loki for my favourite shows. I’m worried that TFAWS is so low on peoples lists as we now have a new captain America in the mcu and I’m worried people have forgotten that.
