And Jacen wasn't even forbidden to love but still fell anyway. luke lost his love and he went on a rampage. Tahili Veila went to the dark over someone who died 15 years old. Vestera Khai murdered a jedi to protect her love. This proven that love is dangerous something the jedi know from experience. Being love means your selfish to one person. You can't be a self sacrificing jedi if you hesitate because the love you have for one person.

@Martian Engineer I'm talking about the lost of that kind of love or the fear of losing that kind of love. the force amplifies all emotions to heighten degree. so true compassionate love is amplified greatly, but so is losing said love one. That breeds despair, anguish, anger to a heighten degree. And in a jedi's very dangerous line work, this a very common. Look at the expanded universe and look at every jedi's reaction to them either being in love losing they truly love, or feared losing some one. It never turn out well.

The thing is they acted as if attachment led to the dark side, which it can but it can also bring you to the light too. It was because of Vader's love for Luke that he rose against the Emperor. Luke's love allowed Vader to become Anakin again. Luke even got married and had kids later on in the expanded universe but didn't succumb to the dark side. The old order was too overly cautious and rigid.

Maybe. However, it's more likely more Jedi would have given into their inhibitions. This in turn would've led to more of them turning towards a more passion driven path. Eventually, with enough Jedi following that passionate path and willing to go to any lengths to protect what they cared about, you end up getting political or philosophical infighting within the order and a fracture will eventually occur. Thus, the order eventually turns into two or more differing factions, either from a rising number of outcasted Jedi and/or Jedi Masters disagreeing too much about where the Order should go. (I'm sure you know where I'm going with this). Then you'll have a bunch of Jedi turning towards a more darker path (as is if they haven't already). And voila, the Dark Jedi/Sith Order are reborn anew, but this time as an entirely new sect without the rule of two nonsense.

We have seen that Jedi are weak because they block out their emotions. Sith give themselves into their emotions too much, their anger turning them evil. New age Jedi are allowed to express their emotions, to feel love and anger, but taught to control themselves, and that is why they are so strong. Anakin and Obi-Wan were more open-minded than most Jedi, and that is why they were stronger than most, on the level of the strongest masters Anakin was meant to be the perfect balance of the Force, both light and dark, and would likely be able to do anything. Had his fear and arrogance not consumed him, he would have foreseen that his own darkness would be responsible for padmes death, defeated sidious, and become the ultimate peacekeeper

I can see a scenario where the twins were already born when they were discovered. The Jedi cone to take them while Anakin is off on a mission and Padme refuses to surrender them. By accident or intent, she is struck down and the Jedi scramble to cover this up. Obi-wan cannot be part of this and goes into exile with the twins. Anakin returns home to discover Padme as the ever-militant Mace Windu chooses this moment to confront him. Anakin, believing his wife and children are dead, taps into his anger and manages to kill Windu. He goes to Palpatine, who reveals himself as the Sith Lord, luring him to the dark side with sincere promises of revenge. This way, Vader would have much more reason to be genuinely loyal to the Emperor and genuinely hateful of the Jedi.

However, to continue your analogy, my one complaint about this theory is that the 'side bitch' has evolved beyond going back. Maul built his own criminal empire and was trying to recruit Ahsoka to defeat Sidious. Yoda was aware of their relationship and feelings for each other. Padme tried to visit Anakin at the temple after the first fight with dooku. Yoda found out and confronted her about her feelings. Padme had told yoda that she was going to break up with anakin. But instead they got married in secret.

Even if the Jedi Masters disliked the idea of their Jedi marrying and having a family, the smartest course of action would be to keep Anakin as close as possible. This way the Jedi could watch him closely and do whatever they could to prevent problems before their arise. Likewise, any punitive action based on his relationship with Padme would be seen as a betrayal and a reason for him to seek guidance/help/power elsewhere, which is essentially what happened in Episode III. The whole "do not form emotional attachments" thing sounds somewhat logical on paper, but when put into practice, it's a huge mess than simply can't work. People form attachments, end of story. We even do it to fictional properties (such as Star Wars) and inanimate objects, like stuffed animals or cars. Asking living, breathing creatures with a functional sex drive and an emotional need to form attachments to remain detached is effectively impossible. At best, there would be romantic entanglements within the Jedi Order (I find it hard to believe that no Jedi ever became a couple, even if in secret) which still defeats the entire idea.

Agreed. It is a proven fact that humans need attachments. There are serious psychological conditions that involve people not having any empathy, emotion and being completely detached from others or their actions. None of them are particularly pleasant. The problem as I see it is the Jedi themselves were acting on fear. They came to believe that emotions and attachments, or acting on emotions and being attached to others led people to the dark side and just prohibited them. Instead of working out a more reasonable way of doing things.

My ending: an assassination on Amidala is made to look successful. She is supposedly killed by a crazed random loon from the lower levels. (Palpatine just takes this as good fortune.) Anakin is sent away on a mission at a godforsaken outpost..or at least that is what Palpatine is lead to believe and when he reaches out in the Force, he feels a deeply pained Anakin. (Does not realize that it is just Skywalker being hit in the legs with a gimer stick to make him seem in pain.) However, the real truth is that after Obi Wan finally loses it and handles Windu at saberpoint for voting to kick out Anakin. Obi Wan finally wins, gets the Order to realize multiple assassination attempts have been put on Amidala and this one may not be as far fetched as Anakin thinks...and the pregnancy might have something to do with it. Hence, to her chagrin, Padme is put on 24/7 surveillance deep within the Temple guarded by armies of Jedi, led by Kenobi by day, and Master Yoda at night as the last line of defense. Anakin is frustrated that he is not allowed to do it himself, but is made to realize that if he does, Palpatine will realize he never left Coruscant since his signature plus Padme glow together like a blinding beacon when they are united, even more so with the babies. Yoda begins to understand Skywalker a bit better...and that the order really does have to change. Padme starts singing like a canary about things Anakin has told her. Things that came before the Order. Things about how they treated his mother. Why his mother's death was so devastating. Things he never thought happened still in the galaxy, least of all to slaves. Yoda is one of the few beings in the temple that did not arrive as a baby...and remembers bits of his old life as a young man. He also gets acquainted with the little Skywalkers growing inside...after gingerly placing his hand on Padme's belly. "Powerful both shall be. Much like her father, the girl is. Fiery, she shall be. Lots of mischief. The boy, looks like his father in the eyes, he does. The boy child shall he be calmer, a Naberrie shall he be...Hmmm....much shall they do to heal their father's heart. An apology, Senator. Wrong was I to believe this sort of attachment was wrong. Needed, it is, for Anakin. Needed it is, for these two younglings to have their father. Never did I realize fear and hate must they be healed. Or how begin they in the first place." They have to collect what was left of the Sith in a matchbox. Most people don't blame Anakin for what he did after holos emerge of some sick Sith rituals Palaptine tried to pull on Leia. (The majority of Coruscant sided with Anakin on that one-"I woulda squashed him like a bug, I tell ya!" "Sick bastard-doing that to an infant!!" "THAT GUY was Chancellor?" ) Anakin was there when his babies were born, deliriously happy-even Mace Windu cheered when he came out of the little anteroom carrying a rather nude newborn boy, squalling strong and healthy. (It took another whack of the gimer stick to get him to go BACK IN to embrace the second baby, a girl.) Yoda began to realize how Anakin meditated best was by fixing things mixed in with the real thing...and how one day, in unison, they figured out WHY Padme was calling for Anakin in his dreams...they saw what was HUNTING HER. What had been hunting her for years. And Anakin saw who had been lying to him for so long. The dreams began to change for both of them after that..it became clear to Yoda and other council members they made the right choice of "putting Anakin Skywalker on remote assignment for a bad case of shellshock" at a godforsaken outpost beyond the Outer Rim. (He was really in the bowels of the Temple with his wife or directing battles remotely on a headpiece, voice disguised of course. Ahsoka was restored to the Temple and was his main com link. ) The plans for the New Order start to come in, allowing marriage, but requiring a set of trials to be passed in themselves to ensure readiness for marriage. Children are not automatically taken from parents to be trained as Jedi and instead they may stay as boarders; true orphans must truly be orphaned. Parents with kids in the order may train them as younglings, but not as full padawans save for the last piece-the trials. One can have possessions so long as they are reasonable and modest, and speeders must be bought second hand or as fixer uppers. Gently Anakin is rocking his little Leia thinking about how tiny she is. Smaller than Luke, who also eats like a Krayt Dragon with a tapeworm. I think that the council would've expelled Anakin from the Jedi order. They were very strict during that time period. All of the council members (at least most of them) would say that he should leave. Although compassion and love are encouraged in the order, passion and attachment are forbidden. Meaning, Anakin broke the Code. To be a Jedi, you must follow the Code. Ki Adi Mundi was an exception to this rule because he had two hearts. It's kind of confusing, but the idea is that he can be aligned with both his family, and the Jedi. Anyway, that's just my opinion.

Actually, Ki Adi Mundi was given an exception because his species has a VERY low birth rate and a VERY low population. Anyway, while I don't think it would be unanimous, I do believe that a good portion of the council, particularly Mace's disciples, would have voted to have Anakin removed, and in the case of Mace's cronies they'd vote for that regardless of what they personally felt about it because Mace wanted it. And what Samuel Jackson wants, motherfucking Samuel Jackson gets, and that extends to any character he plays including Mace Windu.

In the clone wars tv show maul wanted to join Palpatine even calling him master but Palpatine saw him as a threat because he became the ruler of mandalor so he killed his brother and imprisiond maul making him hate the with this would take place before that im guessing

No. Maul was scared of Palpatine. He only called him master to survive even being near him! Palpatine wasn't having it though. He knows Maul abandoned his old way and sought out a new. Maul was different. "No longer Darth..just Maul"

As season 4 of Rebels is coming and it most certainly means the end of the series and Kanan and Ezra, since they are not heard from again later on in episode IV since Luke is the last jedi, an idea came into my mind. What if, in the final episode of season 4 Kanan and Ezra (and maybe even Ahsoka) fight Vader till the bitter end and that is why we see Vader in the healing tank in Rogue One and Ezra and Kanan or the entire ghost crew are not mentioned later on in the movies. Maybe fanfick about this?? ;)

Well S3 has yet to end so who knows. However Luke was never the last Jedi, many Jedi lived past Episode IV and even past Episode VI. The problem then lies in that by Rogue One and Episode IV they can't be doing anything with the rebellion, they would have to be off doing something else, perhaps going on some spiritual journey so Disney can push their whole "Gray Force" agenda.

I see one wrong thing with this theory: Jedi council was restricting anakin and was trying to control him because they were scared, scared of his power and potential. Imo they wouldn't consider expelling him because that way they would have no control over him and even if he didn't turn to the dark side because of hate, resentment and grief he would eventually become too powerful, someone close to star wars god.

It's sad that Mace Windu wasn't in Anakin's corner. It's sad that he was so afraid of what Anakin could become that he allowed it to happen, when he could have been the biggest teacher in helping Anakin deal with his issues that pushed him into the darkside, allowing him to both control and understand that power better than any other Jedi that's not named Qui Gon Jinn could have ever shown him.

I feel like we should get a tv show or set of movies on what if’s for the whole triple saga. It would be amazing and it could start with episode one where instead Anakin was found as a young child, episode two would be if the clone army was never around for the assault on Geonosis, third would be if Anakin never fell to the dark side, four would be if Luke and Leia we’re together or swapped homes, 5 would be if Vader never told Luke he was his father, 6 would be if Vader never took Luke back to Palpatine, 7 would be if Rey never met bb8, 8 would be if Rey never trained under Luke, and nine would be if Kylo Ren never went back to the light side.

i would have loved to see Palpatine manipulate windu since windu does hate anakin. i just dont think that maul would have joined Palpatine after killing savage. but i really like everything else👌👏

Bryan De Oro I think the fact that the council had turned on windu would make him question his power in the order. seeing that maul would never join the sith after seeing his brother murdered sideous would be forced to slowly but surely convert windu into a sith

Mmmm. Most of this is accurate. I personally feel that the restricted section is unlikely, for a multitude of reasons, such as most of the Jedi's unwillingness to even glance at the dark side. Especially if it was Yoda, Yoda tends to avoid it, as he wishes to not mess with the Force.

I don't see Maul joining Palpatine. Maul wanted to be number one and is understandably angry with Palpatine. I also think that Yoda would dismiss the Jedi council so that he could think it over either in private or with Mace Windu.

Wrong about maul. Palpatine would tell him he is in need of his services and will make him a full fledged sith apprentice and they will finish what darth plagius started and I think maul would agree knowing that if he could bring savage, mother talzin and the night sisters back from the dead they could pose a serious threat to palpatine. If maul refuses palpatine would just tourture him with force lightning until he either agreed or died.
