To date, this is the best "What is Crossfit" I've come across. No bullshit. No fancy soundtrack. Just the facts. HQ ought to have this front and center for people curious about the program.

Yes, you're right. You can learn how to squat, deadlift, clean and jerk, etc., elsewhere. CrossFit gyms are a space where you can do all of that stuff, with instruction and guidance. And FYI, if you actually do some research, rhabdo is extremely rare, and is typically the result of someone doing something dumb, like doing a high volume workout while being deconditioned. Also, I've done CF for 2.5 years and NEVER puked after or during a workout. Nor have the vast majority of people I train with.

I have a question about the intensity side of it.. I love Crossfit been doing for almost 3 yrs now. I have sickle cell trait and I am desperate to find out about how I continue to get the intense workout without being close to death when I'm done.

8:18 actually all 3 of those examples would be equal to each other in their ability to reach your overall goal.

I have looked on the main website but there is like one post regarding sickle cell but no information, I know there are some pretty good athletes who manage to perform and manage the condition I'm just wanting to know how... Any advise would be welcome... Just don't say "don't do Crossfit" it works for me on many levels and I don't think a person should stop something just because there is an obstacle

John is one of those cross-fit nerds that are always talking about burpees and when the wod is coming out. Oh and also comments because you think cross-fit is crap

but what if you are doing 'crossfit' concepts at a regular gym?

so whats the difference between 'crossfit' and 'walking into gym and try everything in it without any plan'
@spencergsmith3 жыл бұрын
Just because CF is constantly varied doesn’t mean it’s random. A good CF gym/trainer should have a plan for their clients and coach them through the movements and stimulus of each workout.

I agree. The belittling of other types of exercise kind of ruined this video for me.

i more than positive I've seen crossfit"ers" doing barbell squats while on an exercise ball. So how is that functional and bicep curls are not.

Right, so if I guess cross-fit is a special type of magic that "normal" forms of exercise don't have. Got it.

Cant tell if your getting better in a covential gym? Wtf if your adding weight you can definatly tell
@george740411 жыл бұрын
so people that go to a normal gym just do bicep curls? thats as dumb as saying crossfit guys just do kipping pull ups and 50 rep sets of terrible form olympic lifts.

This was cool until he started talking shit about other lifting sports. He didn't need to go there. We're all family in the iron game. Talkin' shit about other lifting is for the KZbin and Facebook trolls; not an elite athlete like him.

Crossfit is like bottled water.....not at all necessary but good at making money. It's a blanket term for exercise. Wow. So revolutionary because you have bad tattoos, a beard, and bring your dog to the gym. Hippies can't be bigger, stronger or more athletic than others so they invent their own "sport"
@blinderGBS11 жыл бұрын
Wow - you couldn't be more wrong. Are you scared of trying it?? I'm 50, been doing CF for a year - I am more physically fit/prepared for the "real world" than ever, and I did a lot of traditional gym stuff - which was boring and non-functional.
@reallyrandom22210 жыл бұрын
So this guy starts off saying that going to a regular gym will not help you with daily lifting? Clearly you're doing the wrong exercises then or just skipping over whole muscle groups... And crossfit is "High intensity" but the gym isn't? Sounds more like a motivation problem. Ridiculous..
@esteban011 жыл бұрын
So basically I can achieve the same results by doing cardio and weights and not spend money on this crap. Got it.
