I've been asking myself this for most of my life. I came to the conclusion that it's 50/50. some are naturally awesome like her, and others become awesome because being sick teaches you gratitude and appreciation. makes me hate my healthy lazy selfish bratty self.

I believe only awesome people get the cool diseases. I used to pray for death and for getting a serious disease etc *a lot* and here I am only having a cold or a flu or depression now and then and that's it. But cool disease where you stay in hospital, get all the cool drugs and almost die? Unfortunately no. I believe only the cool people die young :(

My school does a fundraiser called super-dance every year. We dance for 12 hours to raise money for cystic fibrosis. We raise over 100,000 every year all donated to the CFF. Good luck to you :) and we WILL find the cure one day.

It can be really tough sometimes but we fight this battle together & it feels good to have the people you love around you that can relate to how you feel, ya know? Wow Claire, you really are an inspiration. As a father of two girls, it is a parents worst nightmare to be told your child has a life threatening or shortening illness. It is inconceivably difficult as a parent to understand what a child would be going through under these circumstances. You are a smart, beautiful grounded young lady who exudes joy and happiness. I just discovered your channel and I gasped when I saw the title of this video. My dad's cousin had cystic fibrosis and after he passed away (I sadly never got to meet him since he and my dad were only twelve) his father created a charity called the Joey Fund. I haven't heard of many other people who have cystic fibrosis but I like what videos I've seen of yours so you've earned a new sub. :)

I've heard of cystic fibrosis at school but I never met anyone who actually had the illness. It's nice to have videos about what it's like to live with it, your videos are very interesting, informative and I love how you seem very positive about it. Sorry to hear about your condition. Wish you well. Just fyi to those interested: CFTR is basically caused by chloride ion channels being defective in cells. These cells then have a defective secretion capability. Therefore, it causes dysfunction of various organs.

I have CF and so does my brother, and we are actually really lucky to be healthy and everything, but right now I have a lung infection and stuff. I'm pretty young now but I've always had a lot of anxiety about getting older and having too much on my plate. I've always wanted to be a KZbinr because it's an easy schedule to work around so that I can have time to do everything else, and I just like to make people laugh and I just think it would be a really fun thing to do, but I've never really had the money or equipment to do it yet. I want to do so many things in my life, but I've always been afraid that I would die before I got to do those, so I'm the kind of person that wants to do everything at once and just cram it all into one day. I really love how even people with CF or something make these videos because even though we have limitations, doesn't mean we can't do things that normal people can, like make videos or make yourself known to others. I don't know why I'm talking about this, but I just wanted to say that I think it's really awesome that you're making videos...
