It was a tale of legend... an entire land covered in colourful tiles and railings, an endless plane- a shrine to patience, I suspect. Today it lies in ruin. The tiles are cracked, the railings rusted, billions upon billions of televisions with blank screens, a few here and there showing static where their wires barely connect to the grid. The bones of thousands lay, passing in wait. Were they at peace? Was it a life fulfilled, to live waiting for something so grand that thousands of others would too? I know it not...

@@theuncalledfor Also, after watching maybe two thousand different adds they start repeating as you probably already forgot how this all started. I use a similar trick when dancing salsa: I don't know that many figures, only like 20, so what I do is make a sequence of 10 figures and repeat that until the music stops, at which point I use one of the 5 or 6 finish moves I know how to properly execute. No random lady every figures out I'm running on repeat as it takes a lot of dancing and knowing your dance partner to figure that out.

This is actually a slight under-estimate. Something I just discovered - the shape of the queue has an effect. Straight queue line sections hold more guests than corner pieces. I built two 15-tile queues, one totally straight and one zig-zag. The zig-zag can hold 75 guests while the straight one can hold 80. Therefore, more than 5.3 guests would fit on average if the straight runs were longer than Marcel's test patch. The spiral design at 3:50 is probably still optimised, but for the estimates on larger parks, we could probably raise the estimate slightly.

Since RCT2 guests are immortal (cannot die of old age, hunger, or thirst) and have no outside responsibilities, the only thing that could motivate them to leave the queue is boredom. The TV's keep them entertained forever, so they have no motivation to leave, regardless of how long they wait. No matter how long they wait, they have exactly as much time outside the park to look forward to as they would have if they left right now. They have no concept of "wasting" their time, beyond simply not enjoying the current moment. They could stand still, not feeling or thinking anything, for TREE(3) years, and be perfectly content. They are so human, yet so alien, simply by having our mortal limitations removed.
