Mommas, its gonna be just fine( if you want to go natural) . I urge y'all to watch relaxation videos...the ones that are labor/delivery specific. Watch them over and over until you feel confident with yourself. During the progression of labor, stay in a comfy position. Listen to music, concentrate on your breathing, and close your eyes. When it time to push, set you mind on your contraction, listen to your body and push when the pressure comes. Relax between contractions. You can keep your eyes close if it makes you feel more relaxed. If you feel, at any time, like your falling into panic mode try to think about the result. Its only for a time and with a few more pushed baby will be in your arms. What also helped me was watching home births. I watch how these women worked through the pain and discomfort with the help of their midwives. I used their technique to help me through my delivery. I kind of blocked out my husband and the room filled with nurses and two doctors. It helped me to relax and concentrate on my body and my baby. 😌😌🙂

Why the heck did the algorithm recommend this to me?! I have cervical cancer and I need a total hysterectomy. I’m so sad. I don’t have kids, and I guess I never will have natural kids now. To all the moms out there that have been through labor, Gd bless you. I wish I could count myself amongst your ranks, but unfortunately, it seems that Gd has dealt me other cards. Bless you all. To all pregnant ladies out there who are afraid of the pain, just think of people like me who would give anything to be in your place. Safe deliveries to you all 🙏❤️

Perhaps you could support her in a different manner, such as wishing her the best of luck beating the cancer & suggesting that she consider going the foster-to-adoption route if she's healthy. God can't give her a child. Let's have some respect for OP & SCIENCE. I know you meant well -- and I'm not trying to be rude -- but using God in an attempt to provide (false) hope is a bit cruel.

I was in utter agony when I was 2cm. The pain didn't get worse I just had shorter breaks between contractions until there were none at all. They tried to send me home. It was agony and more agony. My pain was not believed. It went on for many many hours. I have never felt so helpless, I just couldn't make anyone believe me. I was told to be quiet repeatedly because I was screaming after 4 hours of this... I thought we were both going to die. Then I started bleeding large clots. I was emergency transferred for a c-section. I ended up giving birth vaginally in theatre. I no longer had a sense of being in my own body by this time. My mind just couldn't cope anymore and I wasn't present anymore. Like an observer. I pushed and tore and felt nothing but a slippery sensation when she came out. I thought my baby was dead and I was to follow, and I had accepted that because at least it was over... I have never recovered from the PTSD that followed. Now I'm having a baby 6 years later. If a midwife tells me my pain scale is wrong, she's fucking fired immediately. Believe women.

I think using the words “pain” and “hurt” is what actually hurts pregnant women. I’m a dentist and even in dentistry we are taught the power of our words. Told not to use “hurt”, “pain”,”needles”, “blood”, “you may hear breaking” etc- instead you say “pressure”,”intense”, “uncomfortable”, “injection”, “feel a little pinch”, “heme”.”you may hear sounds” and tell them all is ok and normal to experience. If a patient comes in freaking out about the needle or work, I promise you we will have a difficult time numbing them. The brain literally overrides the physiological numbing because they are in heightened awareness, fight or flight. Their brain is saying “pay attention!!!! Protect us!!!”. The same happened in birth. If you’re panicking and saying this is going to “hurt” on a scale of 1-10? You’ll be anticipating that 10. Our minds are as important if not more so in the perception of experiences. I had a non epidural, pitocin induced birth and I cannot lie that was crazy intense- because we forced the baby out. In comparison, i didn’t even realize I was in labor until 2 hours before my son was born. I barely made it to the hospital and walked myself from the car to the third floor and pushed my son out all within 27 minutes of pulling into hospital parking lot. I was not screaming, I was not freaking out. I shuffled quietly in just worried we weren’t even going to make it. They wanted me to fill paperwork out I was so calm 🤣🤣🤣 because they had no idea how close to delivery I was until I dropped the pad to the floor to deal with a contraction. They wheeled me into closest room and I told them I’m pushing and That was that. Birth is not scary. Get your mind around the fact this is the most intuitive and natural thing you’ll ever do and get out of your body’s way. Don’t worry about the pain scale. Time your contractions and once you can’t talk through them anymore and you have to get focused and quiet- head to the hospital
@stephanieturner68843 жыл бұрын
I should mention I did a ton of mental prepping and de-brainwashing myself of birth fear before my second. Read Ina May Gaskins’ guide to childbirth and listen to hundreds of real birth stories on the podcast “the birth hour” to learn as much as you can.

I don’t mean to say anything negative, but the way women talk about labor is so nice. They use words like “intense” and “uncomfortable”.... labor is severely painful. Also, dilation doesn’t equate to how much pain you’re in. You can be in extreme pain and only be only 3cm. So I’m glad she straight up said that labor is painful. It is. And I’m glad she talked about control, because you can very easily start to feel out of control. I found myself holding my breath and also hyperventilating because the pain was so extreme. You need a plan for that. I’m glad she was so real about this.

His shoulders did become stuck and I majorly hemorrhaged after he was born. Honestly epidural and all I FELT so much pain in that birth. My next two births were wonderful and easy. But to this day I do not regret having an epidural for my first born. I think I would have gone into shock or fainted from that birth if I hadn't had one.

I've had five kids. Four natural and one emergency c section. With all five, the afterbirth (placenta) was the most painful and uncomfortable. I think in my mind, I am always thinking after the baby is out it's going to be less painful and then my body almost goes into a painful shock and remember that the pain part is not really over and still need to pass the placenta. Luckily all of mine came out within seconds of the baby. It was actually in me the longest with the c section. lol.

When nurse ran in and I got to push it was 3 pushed and baby was out. I was in a tub and immediately got up with the baby on my chest and walked to bed. The pain stoped as soon as baby was out. I felt so energetic. My labour over all lasted 3 and half hours and the nurse had no idea how the baby came out so fast. What hurts the most is trying to hold back a push because your doctor isnt in the room yet.

Yep, holding back made me vomit, or at least dry heave

I’m currently 16 weeks. I’m 27 pregnant with my first and I really really really want to give birth naturally. Any encouragement? If I think about it though I get sooooo excited! I once heard my sister in law said “yes it hurts but once it’s over it’s over and you have your baby. It’s all worth it.”
@slumberzombie5 жыл бұрын
Jessica Michelle labor itself hurts yes but the delivery of the baby (like where the baby comes outta you and slide out) not! I personally prefer natural birth than the epidural one, cause the epidurals after effects isn’t great.
@slumberzombie5 жыл бұрын
Jessica Michelle to explain exactly how epidural feels, after they administer to you on the back of your spine the anesthesia, your whole abdomen is numbed out to your thighs, there’s just little effort of pushing out and you don’t actually feel the “birthing pain” you would feel the baby coming out but you won’t feel any intensity at all.. but once the anesthesia fades away, that’s when the post-labor/delivery pains occurs, as if the epidural only covers the pains during the delivery time but eventually gets you after. It hurts like hell. This is based on my experience though so I’m sharing it. But yeah, it’s still up to you how you prefer your childbirth 😊😊😊

I didn't decide unmedicated. I arrived at the hospital 8 cm dilated. Labor was super quick, no time to think. Painful, oh yes, but your body does actually know what its doing.

I want to know how different it’s going to be from last time. I gave birth to my baby when we were 21 weeks and 2 days. A stillbirth. I was induced and it took around 2 days. It only hurt in the last like 4 hours and the last half an hour was the worst and morphine and a bunch of other stuff didn’t help. I was signing for an epidural right as it changed to back labor pain and had to push. There was only like 15 second breaks where I would pass out from all the medications and come back to for a couple minutes straight of contractions.

Seriously breathing deep and slow really helps it’s weird.

What happens when you're GBS Positive? When you have to go to the hospital as soon as your water breaks to recieve antibiotics? Will you recieve Pitocin to induce your contractions to go into labor?

I had neck labor for like 40 hours with my first kid. It was the worse pain I have ever felt and I only dilated 2 cm. After I got my epidural my water broke and my baby went into distress and I had to have an emergency c-section.

Labour wasn’t anything I imagined wow it’s intense lol I just had gas and air it was kinda hard worth it but I had to have a cut which was tough seeing as I wasn’t numb but gas and air did help
@izabelladobaczewska2515 жыл бұрын
I'm hoping to do my labour with gas and air! That's weird they didn't give you local anesthesia when they cut you, I thought they always did unless you've already had an epidural.

I'm currently 1 month pregnant. I already have my mind set that I want the epidural, but I really would like to know does it really work? Will you still feel the pain of giving birth? Or does it just depend on the person and their pain tolerance?

@allisonslush8134 жыл бұрын
I was going to get an epidural but apparently I waited too long to go to the baby hospital to deliver it wasn't painful that much to me. All it was was a lot a pressure but no pain really. Yes they did have to put oxygen on me because I did hyperventilate.
