expulsions shouldnt be the vatican competence, that is an internal matter of the community. The Vatican should let the superiors of the community know about their concerns, but they are the ones who may know better what to do and how to proceed in each case. And the vatican is failing in doing this in many other cases, like fr. martin heresies, sor forcades, sor caran and some heresies in many members that should probably be either silenced or excomunicated.

I think it's a bit disingenuous to suggest that "Western concerns" are simply isolated to the west. The reality is that the grave errors emanating from the West MUST be addressed by the entire Church because they will inevitably leech into other areas of the world. Like it or not, the wealth of the west does, to some degree at least, mean that their influence will also infiltrate other cultures. Sometimes the influence may be for good as in using power to protect weaker and vulnerable nations, sometimes for great harm as in the gender ideology wars. These pressing issues must be addressed by the entire Church not because the 'west is best' but because this is a pernicious ideology that, like communism or socialism, will not remain contained to a single country or culture. I believe many of the clergy who are bringing these issues to the forefront of conversation aren't doing so simply because they arrogantly or ignorantly believe their issues are more important, but because they realize the importance, and catastrophic results, if they are not addressed.

Does Ukraine President Zelensky think that the Vatican is "a unique voice of conscience on the global stage," as you say? Not so sure here. The Pope has come down in favor of religious freedom, including for the Russian Orthodox Church in Ukraine. But the Russian Orthodox Church officially supports Putin's invasion of Ukraine. It seems the Pope has to deal with a conflict of interest here, not just to be "a voice of conscience" but also whether to be supportive of a church who favors invasion of Ukraine by Russia.

It is very good that the Pope Francis has told some of the Jews, like for example the Netanyahu, that what they have done to the tens of thousands of innocent civilian Arabs (that is killing them), amounts to work of the devil. We all should condemn the horrible atticities committed by the IDF, just like we should condemn the atrocities committed by the Hamaz. The leaders of both, as well as all individual perpetrators should be tried as war criminals by the International Court of Justice in Hague. Pointing out the atrocious actions of the State of Israel, and its leader who wants the Izrael esentially "from the river to the sea", is not antisemitism. It is commenting in the historical reality.

Zelenskyy knows the real authority of the Roman Catholic Church globally because our Church shapes billions of our human lives through birth and baptism, First Communion, Confirmation, Marriage and eventually Anointing the Sick bringing family, community and faith together yearly, weekly and daily. Often missing the mark we are still talking, sharing and celebrating our faith while seeking better mutual understanding and living our faith in the 21st century. One issue that is global is the position of half of the human population in our faith. The claim by the bishops that the role of women is “western” insults all women living in the non-western world. The truth is that the all male clergy is using this position of division to take time from forward looking conversations, wait out the women seeking a greater position and visibility, and perpetuate the status quo. Tha passge Ch 8: 44, form St John's Gospel you quote is also very problematic for relations with Islam. Quran 3:54 states that Allah is the best deceiver. Surley, the bast deciver is the Father of Lies, which logically means Allah is Satan. In this passage Jesus gave us a means of identifying who Satan is and who belongs to Satn by their actions. What does this mean for fruitful ecumanism ? Since Allah is the Father of Lies how can there be constructive dialoge with Islam. One wonders, what would be the point of any discussian? Since seeking conversions to Christ is off the menu, what would be the desired outcome of such discussions? It sounds like the one who drafted the document you referd to mentioning 7th October last, is not aware of the date of the Battle of Lepanto that took place on 7th October 1571, and the reason the battle was fought, which was to prevent the Ottoman Turks conquering Europe in the name of Islam. I would love to know your thoughts on my questions above, because I am at a loss as to what to think about what the Vatican is up to?

The Church has clarified in Nostra Aetate that the Jews are “Abraham’s sons according to faith” and the proper interpretation of John 8:44 is not that the Jews are sons of Satan generally but rather that it is possible to reject our patrimony and live with Satan as our father. When Israel and other countries wage indiscriminate war, they are living that out, just as Christians have done in so many instances across the centuries.

Isn't it obvious CHRIST was speaking in spiritual terms when HE was sitting there in HIS real presence with HIS real blood and real body and referring to the bread and cup as HIS body and blood??? It is obvious the bread and cup were not physically HIS body and blood like you make them to be. You would have no CHROIST in the RCC unless you can physically see and eat HIM. You greatly err since: John 4:23 KJV "But the hour comes, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the FATHER in spirit and in truth: for the FATHER seeks such to worship HIM. 24 GOD is a SPIRIT: and they that worship HIM must worship HIM in spirit and in truth."
