This is Taiwan Only a few concrete structures with little aesthetic and historical values. Interesting Japanese cultures such as Shugendo and Hossō-shu can never be found in Taiwan. The general Taiwanese understanding of Japanese culture is extremely limited - even an average Shanghaiese has a deeper look inside Japan than average Taiwanese. Most Taiwanese fondness of Japan is floating on surface.

Taiwan's high speed rail was actually shinkansen made for Taiwan and made in Japan. It's original is Shinkansen 700 series which runs in maximum of 285 km/h then Taiwan's 700T series runs in maximum of 300 km/h. These are my favorite Shinkansen models. It's also the reason why the high speed rail is near same to Japanese shinkansen.

Taiwan's high-speed railway adopts Japan's Shinkansen system as the overall basis. This is the first time that the Shinkansen system has been exported overseas, so its engineering business has been registered as the "Taiwan Shinkansen" and has become a nickname for the railway by some people. However, in some detail design and log, electromechanical systems, the use of European specifications.

Since Taiwan (R.O.C) is a small country, not so well known to the world. Not surprised poeple don't think it as a travel destination. But taiwan is beautiful and most Taiwanese are friendly and polite. Probably Taiwan is the most westernised country in Asain concerning democracy and Human Right and the like. You don't have to worry about local food bcz you can always find cushine from all over the world in Taiwan. Taiwan is a place of mixed culture. 🚘 But let me remind you the way Taiwanese drive is horrible. It's crowded everywhere except in the countryside.
