Yes! So many people go with GoDaddy because they appear very attractive and friendly on the surface. You will have a much better experience at Namecheap, Dynadot, or Porkbun.

Yes - as long as it's not a proprietary platform like Squarespace or Wix. As long as you have access and control over the code, you can switch web hosts whenever you'd like.

Thank you for the video! I chose Wordpress because I'm trying to create a social media website for artists! (I don't think a drag and drop is ideal for that ahah!) I'm still learning all the hoops and ladders that come with wordpress because there are indeed a LOT of options but I worry about the complexities of self hosting with the options like Amazon Webservice. Do you think that's something that someone completely new should mess with or would you recommend slowly stepping up the ladder and going to self hosting when you actually "need" it. Thanks once again!

There's no harm in messing around with Amazon Web Services if you want to for fun, but it is pretty complex. I had an Amazon EC2 instance with cPanel installed that I had my websites hosted on, but it started to cost me way too much money and effort to keep it maintained. I now have a 1GB Digital Ocean droplet through Cloudways. I am absolutely loving my experience so far! I'm making a review on Cloudways soon :)

I fucking hate WordPress. It needs to go the way of Netscape. As weird an app as it is, I use Everweb to build my basic sites, then drop under the hood and tweak it. I know some coding and it's seriously easy to do.
