Seven years of personal training under my belt. These guys have revolutionised the way I communicate with my clients. Educating them in terms they understand will yield much more credibility then sounding like you are reading directly from a medical journal

I love when faith was brought up, because there are actually a lot of crossovers between working out and fitness and practicing your religion . I definitely found faith again through fitness because a lot of the same principles apply. Not a lot of people make that connection. Such a great episode

I love how simple you guys make it. It's so hard sifting through all the bullshit that's out there. I love how real and transparent you guys are too. It's honestly so refreshing. And as someone who was formerly very influenced by the "woman" focused workouts and advertising, my mindset has very much shifted because of you guys, so thank you!

Really interesting conversation! Speaking about money and kids, it reminds me of the lesson I took my son through when he was 6. We had been out for a 'Boys day' and I'd already spent a fair amount on movies, lunch, etc. My son saw a toy for $40 he really wanted and started to give me grief over. So I took out my phone and asked him, "If Mommy makes $20/hr, how many hours does she work to get $40? He answered 2, and I replied, that it's more than 2 as there's also tax you need to account for (13% here). So simplified, it's more like 2.5-3 hrs. I told him, "When Mommy gets home, if you ask her to turn around and go work 3 more hours for free and she says yes, I'll buy that toy for you." to which, he backed up, eyes wide and said "No way!" Ever since then, I've really worked with him to understand that every $1 represents effort + time investment to earn it. He's 11 now and saves for almost everything, and really seems to be able to control his impulse buying.

As a mom of two boys, I am very deliberate in how I talk about exercise and nutrition. They've unfortunately witnessed my hubby's mom lose both of her legs above the knee a few years back because of blood clots due to smoking, poor diet, and a sedentary lifestyle. My hubby's mom is the same age as my mom (only 63) but because of her poor habits, if you saw the two of them side by side, you'd think MIL was 20 years older. My mom has her own health problems (type 2, obesity, arthritis, degenerative disc disease), so my hubby and I tell our kids that the choices we make (eating well and lifting weights) will not only affect how long we live but our quality of life when we get to our 60s-70s-80s (Lord willing).

What a great video! The conversation around faith was interesting to listen to. I grew up in a strict religious family and currently am disinterested in organized religion. Too much preaching wrapped in guilt, shame and the wrath of god has made me want the distance. With that being said I do feel I am spiritual and feel that works for me in this season of my life. I think whatever works for you works for you and I think that is what they are saying too. For a while I felt working out WAS my religion as I feel it was getting me through a rough time in my life. There is definitely a connection. 😊

Usually I keep my opinions to myself but I need to voice it today. I would love for you to go to a different state and look at public schools. Some of your comments where you throw all schooling together as failing society is disheartening. I am a public school teacher. I work very hard to help each child that walks through my door. I look for their gifts and try to develop them. But I also look for their struggles, and I help them with those as well. Am I perfect, heavens, no. Do I try to teach responsibility, yes. You, as a parent, may work on that at home too. That is fantastic! But the sad truth, many parents don’t. They want their children’s life to be easy and stress free. That causes them to become very lazy, complacent, and lack work ethic. Without our school system. We would have more struggles than we do now. Just a different point of view from someone that’s in the school trenches day after day.

Our food system needs an overhaul sure I’m biased. However, I did work as an inspector and knowing what I do however anecdotal I’d say to anyone to invest time looking into what’s fed to animals including antibiotics, drugs and take a look at pathogens aka “food poisoning”. Look at how many contract them and you can get a good picture on what’s really the driver of chronic disease and illness.

01:06:16 glycemic index is a myth, has already been proven invalid, differs from person to person, differs in the same person depending on current bodyweight, health status, and loads of other confounding factors. Still, good for you Jordan, it is your personal decision, just please don't tell people to do the same, because it's not a good thing. Any sugar spike above a VERY small personal threshold result in intermittent high blood glucose that is damaging for the human body. See previous comment. It's NOT JUST about bodyweight!

01:01:30 the problem with that Adam is, that yeah you can stay fit now, what you don't know or disregard is that you don't yet see how those foods chip away from the end ofyour lifespan and also from your healthspan, and the by the time people realize that it is too late. Then they are there at older age with a chronic disease caused in most cases by chronic systemic inflammation that is caused by "eating processed food and staying fit when they were young"... and then they are even told by MDs & society that their illness is "normal and part of aging". That's total BS. But that's how they can't teach the next generation NOT to do that, even if they can stay fit... It's time we break that cycle and start making people aware of the truth NOW. Teach them about the long term effects of their daily nutritional decisions. Show the coming generations that you can age without disease and can stay fit well into old age. But in order to do that, you have to be conscious about each meal you choose. Sorry for the rant.😅
