That's why we share the Book of Mormon, another testament of Jesus Christ! Here is a snippet from the Book of Mormon when Christ appears after His resurrection to the people in America. 7 Behold my Beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased, in whom I have glorified my name-hear ye him. 8 And it came to pass, as they understood they cast their eyes up again towards heaven; and behold, they saw a Man descending out of heaven; and he was clothed in a white robe; and he came down and stood in the midst of them; and the eyes of the whole multitude were turned upon him, and they durst not open their mouths, even one to another, and wist not what it meant, for they thought it was an angel that had appeared unto them. 9 And it came to pass that he stretched forth his hand and spake unto the people, saying: 10 Behold, I am Jesus Christ, whom the prophets testified shall come into the world. 11 And behold, I am the light and the life of the world; and I have drunk out of that bitter cup which the Father hath given me, and have glorified the Father in taking upon me the sins of the world, in the which I have suffered the will of the Father in all things from the beginning. 12 And it came to pass that when Jesus had spoken these words the whole multitude fell to the earth; for they remembered that it had been prophesied among them that Christ should show himself unto them after his ascension into heaven. 13 And it came to pass that the Lord spake unto them saying: 14 Arise and come forth unto me, that ye may thrust your hands into my side, and also that ye may feel the prints of the nails in my hands and in my feet, that ye may know that I am the God of Israel, and the God of the whole dearth, and have been slain for the sins of the world. 15 And it came to pass that the multitude went forth, and thrust their hands into his side, and did feel the prints of the nails in his hands and in his feet; and this they did do, going forth one by one until they had all gone forth, and did see with their eyes and did feel with their hands, and did know of a surety and did bear record, that it was he, of whom it was written by the prophets, that should come. What missionaries need to understand is that not everyone who turns them away hates them. I turn missionaries away because I’ve heard out many missionaries already and am familiar with the usual questions they try to answer, and pitch they give. I’m still not swayed and am comfortable with where I’m at. What many missionaries don’t do is take “no” for an answer which understandably is the same thing many D2D sales people do. And missionary work is sales at its core. So if you’re a missionary, don’t assume everyone turns you away out of hate for you, understand you’re going onto peoples property and selling them your religion, you’re being intrusive and that’s what people don’t like is the intrusive nature of it.

Hmmm you must be running into an entirely different type of recruters. I just tell them no thanks I already have a church I go to and they are fine with it. They not trying force any info onto anyone. They just trying to spread the word that they have a Sunday service at whatever church they go to, hoping you'll decide to join them at their church. Dunno why people act like they try to force gods word onto anyone. Never seen that in my life until recently when all these people started having debates with them to put on social media. That's the only time ive seen them even try to talk more than inviting people to their church.

[Joseph Smith-History 1:17, "Pearl of Great Price"] How could Joseph Smith have seen God the Father in his first vision, if the Bible says that God the Father cannot be seen? (1 Tim. 6:15-16). (Journal of Discourses, vol. 1, p. 50, Young, Brigham, 1801-1877) If Jesus was conceived as a result of a physical union between God and Mary, how was Jesus born of a virgin? (1 Kings 5:13-18 and 2 Nephi 5:15-17 in the second book of the Book of Mormon). How did Nephi with a few men on a new continent build a temple like Solomon’s while Solomon needed 163,300 workmen and seven years to build his temple? (2 Nephi 30:6, prior to the 1981 revision) If the Book of Mormon is true, why do Indians fail to turn white when they become Mormons? The Bible says in Galatians 1:8-9..If any man preach any other gospel…let him be accursed.” Apostle Paul he was even being sarcastic saying…even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel…let him be accursed.” THERES NO OTHER GOSPEL. Jesus says in Matthew 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. Revelation 22:18-19 God will add plagues to those who add to the words of the book of this prophecy, and take away those who take away from it. Ecclesiastes 1:9…there’s no new things under the sun. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bZjXhKaHnrR2pdk John 6:44 [44] No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. Revelation 18:4 [4] And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. Jesus said unto Philip in John 14:9 [9]…he that hath seen me hath seen the Father… But He said unto the world in John 1:18 [18] No man hath seen God at any time… Because the God, Jesus says "I am in the Father and the Father is in Me” So no man has seen God at any time

Joseph Smith's first vision clears up the understanding of who God is. You can go back to the Bible and filter through verses but it is literally irrelevant to the discussion. Joseph Smith saw God. The Holy Bible is one example of scripture. It is an account of God's interactions and teachings with the people in and around the Eastern Mediterranean region before during and after the ministry of Jesus Christ. It is a collection of writings both spiritual and historical written by prophets. In the Holy Bible there are miraculous stories of faith sacrifice trial and love. What about the people that lived beyond the geographical setting of the Bible outside the Mediterranean area? What kind of interaction did God have with them? Well, in the Bible from the Book of John, Jesus revealed to his disciples in Jerusalem “And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring and they shall hear my voice and there shall be one fold and one shepherd.” Some of these other sheep to which Jesus refers are the inhabitants of the ancient Americas who lived at that time. The Book of Mormon is a compilation of the sacred writings of many generations of the people that lived there and received instruction and teachings from God. They had prophets who, just like the Bible, recorded spiritual and historical events over thousands of years and, similarly to the Bible, these stories and events were written down collected and shared from generation to generation. They too were eventually compiled into a book. It is called the Book of Mormon: Another testament of Jesus Christ, and like the Bible, the Book of Mormon is a collection of writings both spiritual and historical written by God's prophets. The crowning event in the Book of Mormon is the account of Jesus Christ ministering to the other sheep as he said he would shortly after his death. The BOM mentions “steel” in 1 Nephi 4:9. The BOM contains the English word “Bible” in 2 Nephi 29:3-6. It speaks of “glass” in Ether 3:1. There are many more that can be cited. So, since the BOM is a supposed record of the people in the American continent from 600 BC to AD 421 how were these things possibly around? Even more puzzling is the BOM prophet Lehi who is said to have found something like a “mariner’s compass” (see 1 Nephi 16:10, 16; 18:12, 21; Alma 37:38). @CalledtoShare .. How so? You redefine the Trinity as tritheism..in your theology. So that means you're not monotheistic, you're polytheistic by definition. When I ask a mormon, how can I come to know the mormon Bible is true? He tells me to pray to the Holy Spirit. And if the spirit says yes, then the mormon Bible is true but if no, then no. Which means for all the door-to-door that you guys do. And I appreciate that kind of zeal for all that. You guys really aren't evangelistic at the very root of things. .. If we hear a voice, where does that voice come from?... Does mormonism offer any sort discernment at all? I asked him. How do you know you're not talking to a demon?... The problem with praying to the Holy Spirit to ask something like this is..... If it's already in his word, then there's no point in asking. Since his will is already written... That would be like if your parents said you couldn't take the car, but you wanted to take the car and go for a joyride. Anyway you would simply ask the other parent... And you wouldn't do that, right? Of course, you wouldn't. So he declined to answer that question... I waited. Some mormons do believe that jesus Is divine and some don't.. Regardless your church....doesnt Acknowledge what's of first importance according to paul's writing in first corinthians fifteen.. And avoids the warning twice posed in Galatians. Chapter 1 verse 8 and 9. If that warning is given twice consecutively within the same letter, then it's important. In your theology, you say that Jesus has a divine mother. Can you explain to me how that's not consistent with polytheism? Furthermore, saying that there is some sort of divine mother is in direct contradiction with with the Bible. "You shall not make gods of silver to be with me. Nor shall you make gods of gold for yourselves" - Exodus 20:23 The silver and the gold are in reference to importance and rank. What the israelites used to do and what this verse is referencing Here is a prohibition against marrying god with other gods. Kind of like action figures and the polytheistic cultures around Israel in biblical times made a habit of this and thought it was fine. The surrounding cultures mentality was "God needs to have sex because we need to have sex and God made us. God needs to be married because we need to be married."... This is completely contrary to what the God of Israel in the Bible describes himself as... "non contingent, having no peers above and beyond creation upon beyond human conception. Not needing to dwell in temples" .. The Bible actually says that we are condemned if we follow the law referring to the Old Testament law. But I brought up the verse that I brought up because you guys play with the priesthoods. And believe that there's no consequence to that.... So specifically, because upon entry to the faith of mormonism, someone starts off in the ironic priesthood. I brought the verse up that I referenced above.... Some verses to Support that there's one god.. "Here o Israel, the Lord, our God is one lord."- deuteronomy 6:4 "For the Lord, your God is the God of gods and lord of lords. The great the mighty and the awesome God who is not partial and takes no bribe" - deuteronomy 10:17 "Thus says the Lord, the king of Israel and his redeemer, the Lord of host. I am the first and I am the last besides me, there is no God."- Isaiah 44:6 Now you may see these 3 verses. I put up and notice the word God and try to weasel out of this. So let me explain something here.. The Hebrew word for God ( elohim) is plural in formation of the word But is used for both singular and plural depending on the context clues in which the sentence is used.. Furthermore if Jesus has a divine mother according to your theology. And he's spiritual brothers with the devil. According to your theology, then how does that not make him devious?.. How can god be good in your theology when god in your theology is linked with evil? Did you know that's in direct contradiction to what the Bible says?... "Woe unto those who call evil good and good evil who put darkness for light and light for darkness who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter"- Isaiah 5:20 "This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you. That God is light and in him is no darkness at all" - First John chapter 1 verse 5. Furthermore, by saying Jesus has a divine mother. You're saying something else as well. By saying God has a mother and that every baby born is another potential God and all of this. What you're effectively saying is the word God means nothing. You're not monotheistic. And you believe that God can have such a thing as peers... That would be logically what you would be effectively saying.... So someone who comes into your church that's new. That's starting to ask questions. Can effectively ask while who made God. Because in your theology, God has peers. And he can keep on asking that in an infinite matter of times You see the logical problem you're running into.? Now the last thing I want you to do. After reading, this is walk away. Thinking that "this guy is just being combative. He's not even going to listen to me." " He already has his mind made up about me." I don't want you to walk away thinking that... I'll tell you what if you want to continue this as a conversation, we can speak about just one. So we don't go all over the place. Just one of the examples that I mentioned. We can cover much more ground that way. It's important that we get this question of who Jesus is right? Because it has eternal consequences... We can't but afford to believe that all religions are the same because they're not... Because in order to make all religions distilled down to the same idea. What you're gonna have to do is erase a lot of cultural context. A lot of cultures wrote religious texts. But but those people who wrote those texts think in different ways and come from different places of the world and have different philosophies and view things differently. So in the question of the many religions, one question to ask is why do the similarities matter more than the differences? Another question that you eventually have to run into yourself with and ask yourself is, "Do I believe what I believe because it's comfortable or because it's true?" Jesus says something very interesting to address this " What does it profit a man to gain the world but lose his soul"

Or send them to josephsmithspolygamy.org/ so they can learn the truth, like the facts that: Joseph Smith was likely sealed to between 30 and 40 women during his lifetime. Of these, it appears the Prophet experienced sexual relations with some, but not all. There are no credible evidence that Joseph had sex with three subgroups of his plural wives: (1) fourteen-year-old wives, (2) non-wives (or women to whom he was not married), and (3) legally married women who were experiencing conjugal relations with their civil husbands.

I think it's pretty clear he hid somethings from Emma. In the Doctrine and Covenants he gets rebuked and Emma is charged to forgive him for his mistakes. I don't think anyone claims Joseph made every correct choice. Jesus was the only one to live a perfect life.

You look like decent people. Some constructive criticism, don't lead with anything that sounds like 'Have you heard about Jesus?' Whenever missionaries start with that it shows they haven't really thought about their pitch. The areas I have lived in, and seen missionaries at, have had multiple churches within walking distance. I have heard about Jesus, most people in the US grow up as Christian. I know Mormon is different but there is a lot of overlap. If I am not going to a church it isn't because of a lack of knowledge, opportunity, or exposure.
