Hachi aka hachiko is the most heartbreaking story. It's about a dog who waited 9 years for his owner at a train station. The regular people would say hi to him but there were many who weren't good to him. Cursing at him and throwing garbage at him. But he was a loyal dog and had no idea his owner had passed away. One day when hachi didn't come it turns out he died because he had cancer. So the government made a statue in his honour. He was a good boy and there's even a movie on it. It never fails to make me cry

3:02 Screen savers were there because when we had the CRT monitors (the ones that were big and fat), image burn-in was an issue because you'd have a windows background that was static. If an image was persistent for a long enough period of time, it would be burned into the monitor. This would be particularly noticeable if you were in a program that had a white background. There's still the same issue. But, not as bad. I just turn off my LED displays every so often so that they have a chance to power cycle.

5:33 Hachi (Hachikō) was a dog who would walk to a train station with his owner and wait the whole day for his owner to come back, but one day his owner never came back he stayed there for 9 years waiting for his owner to come back, Hachi died of terminal cancer on March 8, 1935 at the age of 11. A statue was built in his honor. Hachi was held up as an example of loyalty and fidelity in the Japanese culture. There is a movie based on the events, if I’m correct; it’s on Netflix (Edit 1): it is no longer available on Netflix. How dare they take off that beautiful movie.

For those who don't know, that statue of the dog is a very famous Japanese true story. There was this dog Hachiko who always went to the train station with his owner and would wait for him there until he got back from work later that day. One day the owner died at work, so he never returned, and so Hachiko sat at the train station and waited for his dead master to return for 10 years until the day the dog died. They made a statue of that dog at the train station that you can go and take pictures with

I went to Japan with my dad back in 2012, so 4 years before she did. No joke, the best 3 weeks of my life. We went to so many places, including the Ghibli museum, Tetsuka museum, several theme parks including Mt. Fuji Q, Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea and even just walking around Akihabara was so much fun. The only real negative was 1 day when a monsoon hit the area we were in, so we had to cut our day's plans short and hop on the bullet train to get to Tokyo, but we got delayed so long that, instead of getting there at 6pm, we ended up arriving after 11:30pm. Other than that though, it was an enormous amount of fun and I loved immersing myself in the culture. 1 odd thing happened though. While looking for the Suginami Museum, we were passing through a neighbourhood I had the weirdest feeling I'd been through before, which made no sense since it was shortly into our trip, so we hadn't been in any similar areas before that day and that trip was literally the first time I'd ever been outside my home country of Australia. But, it got weirder. As we reached an intersection in the street, I immediately had a simultaneously vivid and vague memory of being a child running through that specific intersection and being really happy when I'd been running. Again, this trip was the first time in my entire life I'd been outside Australia, so I was completely baffled as to where this memory came from. It was vivid in that I could clearly remember being a child as I was running in that area and the happy feelings I'd had at the time, but nothing else stood out in the memory. I couldn't tell how old I was in the memory, my name, why I'd been so happy, nothing. To this day, I still have no clue where that memory came from. My only possible guesses are I was either regaining a fragment of memory from a past life in which I'd lived in that area of Japan or a ghost had shared its memory with me. Either way, it's 1 souvenir from our trip I'd have never expected to return with. Do hope I'll be returning to Japan either later this year or sometime next year.

Omg I was at an arcade yesterday and there was these two Asian boys that were wearing their gym clothes while doing DDR 😂 They were pros. They were gripping onto the bar behind them and they were moving there feet so fast ! It was the most satisfying thing to watch 😅

They have a kura sushi here in Austin Texas. It is the most popular chain in Japan. They started opening locations in America. They have around five or six now. Also it is priced by plate. There are around four pieces on each plate Kura charges 1.25 per plate. They have gotcha machines too. Lol. Also they have a separate conveyor belt for orders you like order for your table. :3

I’ve only ever seen a conveyor belt sushi place once in my life, and that’s at Tysons Corner Mall in Fairfax Co, VA. I don’t know if they still have it or if it’s open but it looked pretty cool.

I’ve been to Japan for 6 1/2 years and the insane jump off the balcony thing is a real thing but people used a umbrella to jump. When it also comes to the water fountain thing you are right about people drinking the germs that people touch the water and let it go down the drain again well you just get water and drink it that’s all you do.
