What can I say. Two of my favorite scientists - philosophers of the modern times. Brave custodians of the most noble tradition of the scientific ideal. Especially in an era that has transfigured the “scientific ideal” to something resembling a religious cult. Thank you for enlightening the world. Thank you Veritas Forum for this. Has there been any discussion regarding "Progressive Revelation" in religion from Adam to Moses, Jesus, Mohammah, Bab abd Bahaullah, which is exactly what we have in Science from the time fire discivered to Newton laws, and Einstein relativity and so on? And how these relates to each other.

The revelation ended with Ye'shua. The written Word ended with His Revelation told to John. The other men that you listed revealed nothing from the one true God.

At the end of each day of creation, God saw that what He had made was good…when He created people who bore His own image, He declared His work “very good.” God is committed to quality and excellence, since these are expressions of His perfect beauty and character. People had a problem but they didn’t like God’s solution and decided to follow their own instincts.

It is a false dichotomy and much dependent on assumptions. Knowledge exist in different forms, naturalist reductionist epistemology is simply a very narrow way to look at it that hardly makes sense.
@AYouTubeCommentator Жыл бұрын
Science is based on methodological naturalism, which assumes that all phenomenon that science investigates *must* have natural causes. When scientist use the scientific method, they already start with the assertion that supernatural explanation are not possible because their range of methodology is narrowed to naturalistic explanations.

Science and religion share the same axiom, that there is something holding the universe together to form a consistent set of facts. The scientist takes this for granted. But it is necessary to assume to enable science. No one studies science under the assumption that it is all just a chaotic mess. But theism also assume that there is this principle that exists everywhere, at all times, and controls all things. They call it God. He's always right, perfectly just, and he has a plan for the universe. Now an axiom is not something that can be proven. It is something taken as so basic that everything else comes from it. We think of God as a Creator, and as such he is the very starting cause of the universe. He's the starting premise of all things. Atheists continually ask for evidence. But what are you talking about? All evidence is evidence that there is an overall, abstract principle of reason holding the world together as a consistent set. That you would even ask for evidence proves you admit that this overarching principle is actively controlling all things. For evidence is not relevant in a world of complete chaos. And what is the purpose of this logic with the world? Truth is defined as that which corresponds to reality. We use statements which are true to describe events that are real. And so it seems that the very purpose for the world is to manifest truth. But how do we recognize the truth? A statement is proven true when even the attempt to prove it false even leads to it being true. This is used all the time to prove mathematical theorems, to qualify consumer products, to win court cases, etc. And if there is any validating anything of eternal value, then even the worst possible effort to negate it will still result in its being true. And so Jesus was tested to the max, and he rose from the dead. Anyone who takes such a stand for the truth will be tested in order to be proven true.
@Paine137 Жыл бұрын
Nonsense. Science is about comparing theoretical models with reality by experiment. And then said models refine or get abandoned accordingly. Religion conversely is born of imagination and absolute ignorance, to control others through fear and reward. Your word salad can’t change that fact.

Ioannidis has done great work on evidence based science, only then to be multiple times dramatically and dangerously wrong about Corona - funny enough due to the lack of data and his total inability of risc assessment. Lennox is a recognized mathematician and a religious nutcase, a sad case really.
