I agree 1,000 % ! No railing, no life jacket, but one stupid Captain. I'm a Former Coast Guardsman and so many things happened, I would have done alot more than Ticket that Captain. With letting that little girl sit on the unprotected (rail-less) Bow, he was commiting a crime of Child endangerment.

Yes, I was just going to comment on the same thing. It only needed a slight 'bump' and she would have slid off there and gone under the boat and back through the props before he could do anything about it. Surely there must be a law about it in the State of Florida? There certainly is here in New Zealand and probably most other marine areas around the world.

Ok I'm jumping on the bandwagon too. The Dad with the little girl on the bow is certifiably insane. Right under the boat into the props. Unfreakingbelievable. I've seen wayyy too many of these videos endangering kids. Even one where a kid fell so close to the props I was sure I witnessed a death. Is there no marine patrol? My state has a law that PFDs need to be WORN at all times on any body of water that boating takes place. We USED to have a law that you had to have cushions for everyone on the boat. Then we had to have PFDs on the boat for every person. Too many deaths. Now PFDs need to be worn and buckled/tied. I cannot believe a law is not in place at least making the parents put their kids in PFDs

No, he was traveling to slow allowing the waves to push his stern around. If he bumped up his speed a bit and paced the waves a little better that wouldn't have happened. You can't just tool in like that in those conditions. I'm talking about the Grey Sea Ray not the blue one.

Seeing that is absolutely infuriating! My dad witnessed the emergency response for a boy who was sitting on and fell off of the front of a pontoon boat this past summer while it was underway. Tragically, he was hit by the propeller in the abdomen and chest, there was nothing that could have been done to save his life. Absolutely heartbreaking, it was his own father driving the boat.

Riding the bow of a boat with your feet dangling over the side is akin to sitting in the hood of a car. Why is this allowed on the water? Why do boat owners get away with endangering lives? Even if she had been holding a newborn in her lap no one would care.

It can't, it can improve it though.

Less surface area under water. As the speed increases and you actually get to the point where the foil is lifting the boat out of the water the resistance from the water is far lower than with a traditional hull design. You just have to get them up to speed which is expensive.
