Important to note that 1080p would be considered a very high resolution for a computer from Quake 2's era, even with hardware acceleration. CRT's tended to max out lower than that.

I had a Presario too! It had a 120MHz Pentium (OC'd to 133Mhz), 16MB or 32MB of RAM and I put a Voodoo 2 card in it when that card just came out.

Cool video. But this is blasphemy, it’s id software (pronunciation like „it“) not I.D. Software. 😉

You are wrong about Quake 1. It had a single player campaign, which was the primary focus. You also pronounced Id wrong. Do some damn research.

Quake 1 was really a deathmatch game with a crappy Doom clone included as practice. The vast majority of Quake 1 players in the 90s were online. The SP campaign was definitely not the "primary focus" if you know anything about Quake 1's development. That's a myth from younger antisocial youtubers. Quake 1 was the original Esport.

@@Wobbothe3rd Online multiplayer in Quake 1 exploded, but it was mostly a surprise to the developers. Most players actually never played any more than the shareware episode, which didn't support online multiplayer, as it was ostensibly just a demo. Q2 was definitely developed with more of a mind toward online play, but it wasn't until Quake 3: Arena that online play really came into the primary focus.
