If you're concerned and thinking, my ex is in a rebound relationship, what should I do? Then, it's understandable that you might feel frustrated, upset, panicked, or anything in between.
...Especially if you are interested in getting back together with your ex.
Okay, so here's what to do if your ex is in a new relationship...
First of all, do not panic!
Secondly, do not focus on the rebound relationship. Do not try to sabotage it. Do not try to spread rumors or badmouth the other person. This will only make you look petty and it will likely backfire on you in the long run.
Instead, what you want to do if your ex is dating someone new is to focus solely on the connection you have between you and your ex at the exclusion of everything else.
Remember that the connection between you and your ex is the most important thing you can focus on.

After a month and a half I dont even care if she's seeing someone else. If we're meant to be together, I believe our paths will cross together in the future. I still think about her occassionally but I got to live my life and it was her choice to split. In about 2-3 years we will probably see each other again when i move back there, and if she's single that's cool if not then okay I will find someone else.

My ex lovebombed, dumped me, and then rebounded on me. I was so hurt and angry at him for doing this to me until I realized how trashy that behavior is. Months later I’ve healed and realized this man was a low value man and that I deserve so much better than how I was treated. Clay, in some cases our ex wants to move on and not be reminded of the past and are not okay with remaining in contact with us when they are starting something new with someone else, as was the case with my ex. My ex (we were friends before/work together) just told me about dating someone. We were still " best friends" after breaking up. I did find it challenging. I didn't care about her dating, but more issues with our friendship and how it emotionally made me feel. I did tell her how I felt about my issues. Odd, relationship coaches don’t talk about STD testing before you take them back. An 11 panel test can cost about $1200 for 2 people if they don’t have insurance. That’s a big chump if change to take someone back.

I have watched some of your videos about emotional connection and being genuinely curious about how they feel and what's going in in their life. I'll just "put aside" her rebound. And try to focus on having a strong emotional connection. Your videos gave me clear sight of what to do. Her rebound is actually 6 months gone on a ship so big advantage I guess. We were together for 2.5 years and were great, due to covid I became very lazy and I couldnt see her signs. Hopefully I'm doing it right in your eyes. But I feel good about it. We were together for 16 years. She has rebounded with an old friend( 30+ years ) who has just split from his wife of 48 years. She would not have fancied him 2 years ago. We split up before but she came back( no rebound, no success on dating site ). I am sure she is being controlled by him and he is trying to stop her contacting me but she still does anyway and is affectionate( hugs, kisses, mutual interest in our family issues ) . He has plenty of money and keeps taking her away on long trips but I think his marital issues speak volumes about his lack of emotional awareness. She has told me that she is selling her house( which she loves ) to buy a house with him ( that she doesn't like ). She doesn't seem happy to me - almost zombie like as if she is refusing to accept that she has made a mistake. Much worse she has told everyone about her wonderful new relationship on Facebook. Clay has got it right in this video about the difficulty retracting previous errors. I still care about her and I've been miserable since she dumped me but we need a different relationship if we get back together. He is keeping us apart with the frequent long trips but she must be beginning to see him as a needy narcissist. I feel rather powerless while she is prevented from seeing me - or is this a good opportunity for her to feel the reality. What can I do?

@@benjaminjoca6158 Probably. I feel like I'm in forced no contact and so I don't have much opportunity to build the emotional connection. When we meet she seems to enjoy it - parting with a lingering hug and kiss. In our meeting pre-Christmas I suggested that she didn't seem very happy. She said she was happy but she didn't sound authentic. And she went on to explain that she was going abroad for 3 weeks in January and a further 3 weeks in February but it sounded like an inconvenience. Not a glimmer of a smile and a flat tone without a hint of enthusiasm. As if she was trying to convince herself. She's away again in March - it's a lot for a strongly family orientated woman. Should I just trust that she'll get sick of him and his control? What other choice do I have?

She's trying to be faithful to the rebound, it feels like true love to her/him because of all the chemicals that flood the brain. It's new and different...or maybe he/she is still hurt if you did anything to them and they are scared that seeing you might cause them to have this tug a war battle of feelings for the old versus the new...give it time, go live your life, work on yourself...realize that it's going to hurt but you either be productive or watch him/her live their lives happy while you are miserable.

Being a frontliner can be truly stressful due to the demands of their work. Hey Clay, sorry this will be long. My ex broke up with me in April, and we stayed friends. Flirted and kissed a lot as we both clearly had feelings. Reason she ended things was bc she was facing hardship and got very depressed and couldn't handle a relationship anymore. She says now its her fault we broke up and not anything I did specifically. She told me she loved me again 6 months on, in September and it had been perfect since. She would always say I'm the love of her life and although we weren't committed, she would say she can't wait for a future with me. She moved away a couple days later but we kept talking while she's been abroad and didn't lose that love. But, End of december she told me that she couldn't stop overthinking about how I hurt her a lot 3 years ago and would make herself upset and it was a toxic cycle in her mind of love/upset with me, so she couldn't take it anymore and ended it "forever". A week ago, my ex said she confessed feelings for another guy (who she knew always liked him, they dated after I broke up w her 2017 but it didn't work out as she wasn't over me and he wasn't too invested. We got back together in 2018 as I realised I loved her, and at the time she was in a rebound w someone to move on from me from me ending things w her in 2017. She friendzoned me but realised she loved me after a month) right after she ended things with me at the end of december. Said she had felt something over summer 2019 for him but ignored it as nostalgia and continued loving me and going out with me. She tells me they're nothing atm and that he wants a RS but she still doesn't know if she will, she is just taking it chill and they're not much of anything. She says she is still thinking about things and processing her feelings. Reason is that She moved away in October and won't be back until August this year.. so they are "talking" long distance... It doens't seem like this is a rebound as she told me she liked him bc he makes her happy, but they aren't serious as she is so far away right now. Me and her have always been bffs and the most we've ever loved a person, and to ME, it seems like they don't have that kind of connection, but what do you think?
