@@NorCalNBK believe it or not, found that out today. However, I believe the bore was changed along with the comparison which is why _(I believe)_ people haven't be putting a stage 1 and/or stage 2 turbo kit on the MZ3 like the ND I know corksport said theyre working on it _(don't know of any updates since a while ago, maybe before.gen4 launch)_ and there's a british company that was also trying something _(BBR)_ but again, haven't really heard any updates. Love the style of the car, IMO I think it's the best styling of the first 3. possibly out of all 4, but it's lacking that zoom zoom imo. I also know, feeliq did/is working on a 4g63 engine swap in thailand _(I believe there)_ but once again, little updates on it. But at least we know 1 engine swap that would fit.

from what i've seen creepin thru the forums and facebook groups is that for the most part it's the rear fender that needs rolling, as the fronts are basically "pre-rolled" from the factory, so that the inner lip tucks into the fender liner shield thing in the front.

3rd Gen Mazda 3 owners feel seen! I have Enkei TM-7s 18x8 +45 offset with 225/45/18 on my 2015 i Sport hatch, it's decent. There definitely people running 235s or 245s that rub in the rear though.

@Jon-nz3dm4 жыл бұрын
there is no point in running a tire wider than 225's on these cars. you are just getting way worse gas mileage and no performance gains lol. they don't have enough power unless you have the new turbo one. I'm still on stock wheels on my 2016 i Sport hatch. car color is black, still deciding between regular silver/grey or something more toward bronze/gold. right now I'm thinking of sticking with the silver or grey wheel color for whatever I get since so many people already do black on bronze. also, are you on lowering springs or coilovers? I'm tempted to just get springs since I've heard the ride quality stays very normal with some springs.

@stevgtguy2 жыл бұрын
Yup. I watched this video and used FI's fitment guide on their website and even said the car was lowered, which it is not but may be in the near future. I'm running Option Lab R716's 18x8.5 +35mm and Michelin Pilot Sport AS4's 225/45 on my 2017 Mazda 3 Touring Hatch and the wheel lip sticks out about 1/2" past the tires. I curbed both front wheels within 2 months of having them on the car. I got over it. Then I hauled a bunch of heavy stuff and when I went over some bad bumps the rear passenger tire rubbed so bad it started cutting into the tire. Thankfully it still drives okay but these wheels and tires only have 5k miles on them and they are already beat up. I'll definitely have to roll the rear fenders if I decide to lower the car. My first set of wheels/tires I've ever purchased in my 40 yrs on this earth and I made the mistake of using a place that assured me they were going to fit. Thankfully they don't rub up front or when driving at stock height when the car only has me driving it.

@Jon-nz3dm4 жыл бұрын
I'm also looking at lowering springs or coilovers. I'm leaning toward the springs since I've heard many of the lowering springs made for this car keep the good ride quality(using just lowering springs and stock dampers). I'm probably going to lower mine first since my tires still have another 10-12k miles left on them. So then after I do that I can get wheels and tires together.
@PK-ff9qc4 жыл бұрын
@@Jon-nz3dm honestly looking into it more and more i dont think its worth spending a thousand dollars or more on coilovers when the car really doesn’t need it. I feel like id have a way nicer ride if I spend that money on springs and sway bars rather then just going coils. The only issue atm is finding the right springs. I need about a 2” drop but i can only find one set of springs that go that low which are the corksport lowering springs.

Why do people still talk about wheel diameter as if it matters? The wheels don't rub, the tires do. And you can have the same diameter tire on multiple wheel sizes. Going up in wheel size does not cause problems. Only changing width and offset cause problems.
