The uniform debate is a circle that never ends as ultimately anyone can find issues with anything, on a long enough timeline. From outer carriers to hoodies, badge placement to holster position, In my opinion, the only standardization we should have as an industry should be: clearly marked as security, carry of tools and equipment in universally accepted systems, i e, pouches, molle, holsters etc, and placement. That covers a wide spectrum, but definitely includes drop leg holsters. The client will ultimately dictate with their dollar what is appropriate for their site. I will say that hoodies are a big thing here in Portland. Two prominent companies here issue them with their logos etc, and it’s common to see them worn in the same fashion as a tactical jacket; under the outer plate carrier. My two cents respectfully 🫡

Gangster Security, don't know who's the good guys, there's a standard dress code and professional look and that ain't it...
@bluewolf58956 ай бұрын
My take on uniforms I support having more unarmed guards dressed in plain clothes, unarmed guards should ONLY be for observe and report, anything beyond that the client can upgrade to armed. Having unarmed guard in uniform as a visual deterrence puts a target on their back for threats that they cant handle. I think all armed security should dress in a manner thats instantly tells people that they’re security, that’s why I support police-like uniforms as long as it’s distinguishable. Security guards have had their lives ended because police couldn’t tell who they were and only saw the gun.

I think the exposed pistol puts the target on your back more than the uniforms
@bluewolf58956 ай бұрын
@@jakejudson8578 it’s more about whether the criminal will take the risk and whether you as the guard can protect yourself. A serious criminal isn’t going to be afraid of an unarmed guard nor would he have much reason to be. I know two unarmed guards in the company I work for who have come close to getting killed, one stared down the barrel of a 9mm and the other got jumped, beaten unconscious and robbed. Criminals, just like wild animals, prefer prey who cant fight back.
@bluewolf58956 ай бұрын
@@jakejudson8578 With a firearms you can fight back, as an unarmed guard you’re at the mercy of people who’ve already decided that they want to do harm. Security guards armed and unarmed are generally the first target for any serious criminal.

@@bluewolf5895 I'm just saying if you have an exposed pistol you are automatically more of a target just think about it who would you be more worried about if you were a bad guy? You blend in more if you're unarmed in my opinion. I do like being armed.

It depends on what is your target client. Seems like they only want to secure the club scene.

Now we know why security business liability insurance is getting so high..Soon there will only one or two companies that will be willing to insure a security agency and by that time it will be 200k premium a year just to get the coverage. All the big name security companies are self insured and one of them actually bought out several insurance companies and closed the market so no other company can get insured.

So I honestly don't have a problem with the hoodie as a uniform partly because I have individuals within my company that wear them. But we would have to make sure that it's being done correctly right. If you are at a job site where it's business casual or formal such as suit and ties and dresses then they're not going to be in a hoodie....NO. But if you're at a different venue such as a gentlemen's club nightlife thing, you're doing an advance and you want to be identified then go right ahead especially if the weather is bad. But in doing so and wearing that hoodie you have to be able to make sure that you can reach all your equipment effectively.

To start off chief I think hoodies in any law enforcement agency or any security agency is a completely unprofessional look the correct thing is a uniform or a patrol jacket on top of your cold . Or if the officer wants to look tactical the vest on top of the polo shirt of uniform shirt I think hoodies are good way of grabbing up on any officer off guard from behind we never wanna give any criminal that apportunity or that getto look with a hoody we here to enforce security dutys at locations
@TheSecurityCamChannel6 ай бұрын
The only issue have with wearing a hoodie in that fashion is that it should be able to zip up in front and patched up of course and that the officer wear a typical uniform shirt with patches underneath. Asnd I think the holster and badge placement are a bit too much.
@chrisdavis27426 ай бұрын
Seems like they are doing to much. That's why a lot of law enforcement doesn't take security officers seriously. I would never hire them simply because I would be afraid of there liability, are they insured. I want to say hey to Com. Hall, I am trying to get a company stared up here in the ham,,Alabama. I would love to pick your brain sometime. C Davis 😅

The hoodie seems unprofessional to me. Also, a person should have their badge above the belt line so its more visible. The drop leg holster is comfortable sure, but when it's down low on the thigh like that it's hinders running somewhat.
@cpsspatrol6 ай бұрын
Personally I’m not a fan of it. Now as someone who has medical issues where I get cold very easily (hands so cold to the touch they feel like death), I don’t like or care for the hoodie look, especially as an every day uniform. My winter/cold weather uniform consists of a jacket, long sleeve shirt (polo style), and a beanie. If the individual is plain clothes then a hoodie is fine. Drop leg holsters I’m 50/50 on. The placement of the badge doesn’t matter to me as long as it says the name of the company and says security on it. Now their slogan is garbage, I definitely wouldn’t take anyone seriously if their slogan is “call us and we’ll kick down a door”, definitely not professional at all. The motto for my agency is “In Partnership With Our Community”, that slogan was chosen because we do a lot of community work, so we emphasize that.

One dude I follow he’s a nice dude. But I cringe at his uniform. On his vest instead of saying security it’s “you play ready, I stay ready” in black. So black lettering in a black vest and his back says security same way. Black on black. Like you can’t fuckin Id the dude in low light condition and in daylight it’s hard to read.
