That is the truth. My doctor told me I was diabetic in October and she wanted to give me medication. I refused to accept the medication and told her i would turn it around on my own. I have lost 17 lbs since than and i am watching the carbs on my diet.

You are a lifeline to many people. Thank you for letting people know what goes on behind the curtain. It is so hard to know how to change your life for diabetes and it is a struggle. Your videos helps to make sense of so many different aspects of this disease. We all appreciate your help and advice.

What a GREAT video! Total honesty. I recently moved into diabetes from pre. Wonderful family genes. My family doc said we can't do Metformin because of your senior age and kidneys. At that point, I had them make a referral to a specific doctor at the teaching hospital in the diabetes clinic. 5 month wait with Covid protocols. Determined, I then got a referral for diabetes education through the diabetes clinic. Then I found tgis site! What a godsend! That diet education was instrumental. I then followed up with a kidney doctor who advised a couple of vegetable changes due to the high potassium in the veggies. Now I had a plan and could action. By the time I met with the diabetes doctor, I was feeling much better, my energy was up, and I had lost 15 lbs in 2 months. We went through all the meds and my conditions, including some major cardio. He said Metformin would work but there was a better alternative that would assist with both kidney and cardio as well. Farziga works differently than many others that focus on the insulin. It focuses on pulling the sugars out of your body so the insulin isn't as affected, from what I understand. 3 weeks in and it was definitely worth the wait and being particular and researching doctors. I now have a great team of specialists that I feel I can trust, that seem to mesh well with me being very proactive and inquisitive, and I hope NEVER to see an insulin needle. Thanks Sugar MD!

I love your honesty . Two months ago my doctor said my blood test indicated too much protein so eat less meat. She has said this for 3 yes, so I was down to one boiled chicken thigh twice weekly. I have been type 2 diabetic 39 years. A1c never above 7. Through you I have learned about kidney problems and carb control and not pure sugar control. Yes, I see Through your programs, I have learned next to nothing these years. Thank you. I watch you each evening and learn something new each time.

Thank you! I have just had to deal with my insurance not paying for Jardiance. Fortunately for me my doctor jumped through hoops for me and the insurance finally came through. It’s not cheap, 30 dollars per month but it is worth it to me. I wish you could practice all over the US. I am so much more educated listening to you.

In my case, they had no interest in the whole food-plant based diet than I am on. Dropped blood sugar numbers and weight so fast I couldn’t believe it. Neither did my doctor. Yesterday, I sent in my numbers and received a call an hour later that I had to stop the insulin immediately! The immediately part had me smiling.

@@jessbreathenails3747 5 weeks of really doing it right. No animal protein, no oil, no dairy, no nuts, and favor lower glycemic vegetables. Sugar went from 200’s to 90 avg in 8 weeks, but 3 weeks of that was getting my act together. It’s worth doing, but you have to do it right. Look up this book Neal Barnard,”Reversing Diabetes “ and Dr Esselstyn on KZbin.

Thank you doctor for being brave enough to say this out loud and God bless you and your family abundantly. Truths need to be said and that right there is why patients need to be proactive about their bodies and be willing to collaborate with their doctors instead if walking in and expecting the physician to fix it all. Before we walk into an examination room we dont leave our brains out in the waiting area. Again God bless you.

Thank you so much for doing this video. Right when everyone had to go on lock down I found out that I had type 2 and when I went for my first follow up with my primary doctor I shared that I was doing pretty good watching my sugar intake but struggling with CARBS. I actually got told DON’T WORRY about the carbs. So I listened. But then I started doing a lot of research on my own and found your channel and have absolutely loved all your videos and have learned so much. Anyway I learned a lot about carbs and I really got serious about it cause I was determined not to go on any medication. BP meds are enough for me. So over the past year I have brought my A1C down to 5.2% and have gone from 241lbs to 187lbs. You were also right on about insurance companies. My middle son has bee having a lot of stomach problems for a few years now and several times he was prescribed something and the Dr with the insurance company deemed it not necessary from him to have that particular medication even though nothing else was working. What is so AGGRAVATING with that is that these Doctors don’t even see these patients in person but yet they know more than you Dr. Specialist in my sons case. So thank you for everything you do and aren’t afraid to TELL IT LIKE IT IS😀

I was diagnosed with diabetes in NJ by a Dr who said he would not treat me unless I took education courses at a local hospital. I learned about diet, exercise (WALK 30 minutes/day), and wound care, shoes, socks etc. I read 6 books on diabetes that weekend. Since then I have kept up on glycemic index, neuropathy, and anything else I don't like on my blood tests. And then I found you! I lost weight and keep my A1c down to 6.1 or 6.3 but now I'm trying to get below 6. I moved to Texas and doctors here know very little about diabetes. I am also now on Medicare and most good doctors here won't take it.

I have been type 3C for 10 years and not once have I received any information on how to eat properly and my A1C kept going up and I was given more meds. About 6 months ago I began eating an ultra low carb diet and finally my glucose is in the normal range. Since I am having trouble with this diet I will be discussing insulin with my doctor on the next visit. If I had not done my own research I would still be having high glucose readings and needing more and different medications.

She’s an amputee as well but get around great I just don’t feel the doctors care enough she even had her FAMILY DR say “I’m surprised you’re still alive” in a nasty untrustworthy way, could we email or talk so we could get your insight or maybe help with finding a holistic doctor who cares.

Superb. I am from India and I had similar experience when I asked my doc if Metformin produces more insulin and type 2 patient already suffers due to insulin resistance ,is it not a paradox? I was told to follow advice or needn't come to clinic again. What do u suggest if my hb1ac is 9 although I am just living on 1 egg, raw veg salad and uncooked or some times cooked vegetables. Should I take Metformin or discontinue? If allowed, i would have given 1000 likes. Anyway I am sharing it with my diabetic friends.
