The integrated solution into the car that communicate with the supercharger to reserve a stall. On most AC chargers, you need to stop the charge at the car end unless you wanna stop it in an app. Once you unplug the charger will then release the cable. How often does an actual owner change their wing mirror and steering wheel settings? Answer: Once, ever, for the lifetime of the car. It simply does not matter that there are no hard buttons for these two configuration options because they're set once and never used again. Because you are car reviewers, you seem to share cars between dozens of employees (and you apparently don't set up Tesla driver profiles, so your ergonomic settings aren't loaded when you unlock the car). I had a very scary experience with the new model 3 last weekend. I got an extended test drive during the whole weekend, so I tested it vigorously. I found myself constantly looking down before pressing the turn signal buttons before exiting roundabouts, particularly the smaller ones. Otherwise, it's impossible to hit the correct button, and even then it's too easy to hit the wrong one. I found that I lost track of my surroundings and became way too distracted at times because of this. One time I almost hit a pedestrian when exiting a roundabout. I was too focused on finding the button to press. I only looked down for a few seconds, but that was enough. When I looked up, a pedestrian was suddenly right in front of me and I had to slam on the brakes. Other cars behind me had to do the same and nearly hit me from behind. That really scared me. I've been driving for 20 years, and I've never been close to running over anyone before. I think these buttons are dangerous and shouldn't be legal. it's the only thing keeping me from buying one. I loved so many of the upgrades, so this was a real shame. I really liked the car, but I'm not sure I would ever be comfortable using this. I live in the EU by the way, and we have roundabouts everywhere. It's probably not much of an issue in the US though.

Sets the standard for efficiency? He discusses efficiency and range pretty thoroughly in the first 5 minutes, also tesla is known to have used a favorable EPA cycle to generate its range numbers so the 2017-2023 range figures are always different than advertised figures.
@0ooTheMAXXoo010 ай бұрын
@@dabulls1gCar makers do not get to choose between different EPA cycles. They all have to meet the same standards. Default driving mode has to be used. The whole battery has to be used. Many cars do not use the most efficient mode as default while Tesla does. EPA publishes numbers for three cycles per vehicle: City MPGe, Highway MPGe, and combined MPGe... Why Teslas tend to EPA test higher than actual 70mph tests: Tesla uses a large buffer below estimated zero, helps drivers have a larger margin before actually running out of juice, but EPA tests uses battery until dead. Tesla has very good efficiency in city cycle as compared to other EVs so the combined average will be better than the highway speed estimate. Being more efficient is a plus for drivers, but it throws off the combined average, which no one has to reference, BTW... We could all use city range and highway range EPA numbers instead of the nonsensical "combined" number that will always be wrong both for city and for highway depending on where the car is more efficient... Look at the cybertruck range estimates, the highway EPA (which is 65mph) is not too far from what people are getting when testing at 70mph highway testing, the difference is what you would expect going 70 instead of 65 in a not very aerodynamic vehicle. A brick like a pickup truck will get way better efficiency at slow speeds, the aerodynamics making a huge difference at higher speeds, so the combined average should not be expected to anywhere near the highway numbers...

@tajj76 ай бұрын
Not true at all, on average diesel cars will cost around 2 times, if not 3 times the cost per mile. Plus you can get even cheaper charging at home with low cost tariffs for over night charging. Diesel and petrol cars are also more expensive to tax and not sure where you are getting the insure thing from, that depends far more on you as a driver, where you live and the cost of the car. The same driver, storing the car in the same place, paying the same amount of money for the car will pay a similar amount of insurance regardless of electric or diesel. The range thing is just dumb, no one drives like 300-400 miles without stopping for a decent amount of time and if they do then they are being dangerous. Plus any petrol or diesel car will have whatever amount of fuel you have at home, whereas if you are doing a long journey in an electric car you will start your journey with full range. You could essentially drive from Land's End to John O'groats in most modern electric cars with like two 30 minute stops and you should totally be stopping for more than 30 minutes twice when driving near 900 miles. 250-300 mile real world range is more than enough for 99.9% of drivers and it will generally cost you a lot less money.

In the good old days gearboxes had "pre-selectors" that would allow you to plan for the next gear you wanted! It can certainly operate the indicators if it is using the satnav as it will know where it is directing you to go in the first place. I also remember that Japanese cars had the foible of the indicator stalk on the RIGHT rather than the more traditional LEFT of the steering wheel. I think the best option would have been what was mentioned, left on the left and right on the right of the wheel.

If you look at the position of the passenger at 12:30 and hear how this is really cool to watch KZbin or Netflix while on the drive, I always cringe so hard. Do you _really_ want your passengers to look down there on a long drive to watch videos on that tiny screen? They'll be sick if there's more than one curve on the road. They'll have a much better time watching a movie on an iPad or even a phone in their hands, where they control the motions. It might be okay, if they have to sit back there during a charging session, but even then, I'd personally rather use an iPad. It's definitely a "they didn't think whether they actually should put in that"-feature.

how about just using gas or diesel to fuel
@0ooTheMAXXoo010 ай бұрын
@@cooperthibault279 Crazy expansive because fossil fuels are so wasteful. You use 10x the energy you get to make and transport the stuff only to burn it to generate motion which wastes another 75% of the energy. Also, you need just about as much electricity per mile in a gas car as in an EV due to electricity needs to refine gasoline... You plug in an EV wherever you park to shop, to work, on the street, at home... Only when roadtripping do you care about charging speeds and curves, and all that stuff is worked out by whatever mapping app you use. Bjorn Nyland does 1000km highway speed drives in many EVs. Several do it in 10hrs or less, so averaging 100kph or more including all stops for charging... Often he has to hurry to get bathroom time or to buy some food because the charging is so quick...

Agree but it’s not linear so it should be averaged from 20 to 80 percent also. I’d like both numbers. Eg: 30 minutes to charge from 20 to 80% and add 200 miles

@@0ooTheMAXXoo0 so we aren’t going to talk about the lithium mines? Child labor mining toxic lithium. The thousands of gallons of water it takes to process lithium which is hauled in by guess what? Diesel trucks. Ever think about now lithium is non renewable. Once we run out of it like any precious metal it’s gone. The more rare it becomes the more expensive an ev will cost to produce. Raising the price of the MSRP to points a middle class couldn’t afford. Not to mention what happens to these batteries when they are junk? They cannot be reused or recycled. Mechanics are also stopping to work on any EV cards due to lithium poisoning. Fire departments fear EV fires and usually just let them burn out in the open for days because exposure to water only makes it worse

No issues with the indicators. 10 minutes had in stored to memory. If after 3000 miles you still can’t get it then that’s your own issue not Tesla’s. probably jumping from a standard stalk car each time then going to this can confuse but not if it’s your only drive each day.

Without a stalk, you find the horizontal index bar on the left side of the wheel and press below it for left or press above it for right. The charge port release button that was mentioned in the video should not be place on outside of the car. Some people simply just unplug as they pass by because of some unknown reasons and some just steal the cable. What Tesla has done is the right way in terms of security. Also many many reviewers including this channel doesn't really talk about the security of Tesla. The owners can set a Pin to drive or Pin to open the glove box so in case of break in or car theft, they can't just drive it away without the pin. The reviewers need to refresh their point of view from the traditional car reviewing to more tech and feature focused reviews when it comes to the high tech cars. A review without knowing the features of a car is not so much helpful for the viewers.

For those having issues with the relative placement of indicator buttons... don't go looking for some complicated logic, it is still the same intuitive way as with stalks... the correct indicator button is in the direction of you turning the wheel. Meaning Right is on the top, because you turn the steering wheel clockwise - "to the right". The same applies for those "roundabout doomsayers"... just press the button that is in the direction of you turning the wheel. Which is actually more intuitive than those supercar indicator buttons because once they are each at the opposite side of the wheel, there is no logic to which one should you press that is independent from the wheel orientation.

Why are reviewers always comparing the long range version to the other cars. They cost more and are not the actual competitor to these cars. Its apples and oranges. The M3 long range is 8k euros more expensive than the BYD Seal. Whilst the base model is 1K cheaper (only if you choose a white paintjob though, otherwise its as expensive or even more expensive). And I'm sorry to say but you just get a lot more car with the BYD. Trying so hard to make the Tesla look good on paper but the reality is that you actually get less for your money in many facets if you compare the base model to the likes of a BYD seal design.
