I have only watched the first 20 minutes so far. And until now, he mostly doubled down on his own arguments. He states that a study shows a correlation between declining happiness and rising egalitarinism and concludes that this is causation. When confronted with contradicting examples, he replies that there are many other things that correlate in these examples and that he only uses these studies when it serves his purpose but is skeptical about them. So, so far, he seems dishonest and uneducated in terms of causation vs correlation. Edit: And now, 15 minutes later, he casually conflates moral good with other metrics by using the word "good" for both... Edit: And now he claims that christianity has spread peacefully. I believe the conquestadores that christianised south america would like to have a word. Or the christian settlers that wiped out most native americans in north america, or the wars against the "barbarians" of the germanic tribes. And these are just the ones that come to my head immediately. I am done.

@@advocatusdiaboli9971Every causation is a correlation is it not? The data is pretty clear that the happiness of western women specifically has declined and that the least happy woman in America is an educated middle aged woman making 6 figures a year. How can you not put 2 + 2 together? And Christian settlers did not “wipe out” native Americans. They primarily died due to disease. Same with the conquistadors and the natives they encountered. Sure, they fought wars, but these indigenous people were child sacrificers can cannibals- believe it or not there is moral and political justification for why the Spanish and English got into hot conflicts with natives that did not have a Christian evangelist justification behind them. Yeah, you’re done until you get better educated on these topics.

I mean I’m like 25 mins in and the “feminists” (they are barely feminists tbh) kind of made Michael look bad. I’m a conservative (who likes Knowles) for the record. Maybe I’ve just heard Michael Knowles too much, but his responses on woman’s happiness came off as canned. His point on transgenderism meaning that transgender people see no difference between men and women made no sense, and the woman called him out on it.

The bigger irony is that when interpreted correctly with the Y axis being population, it actually proves the opposite of her point. Women are not smarter than men on average, the data says more women are of average IQ than men. In that sense, women are largely suited to be a repository of social education for children in the home and the passing on of culture and values at a consistent level. Their bell curve is fit for that. Men are far more spread making men more fit for jobs accross the full society from extreme white collar to extreme hard labor, of which both are required. Her argument of evidence of design actually points directly to the traditional arrangement.

it's also not even true that the means or medians are the same. some conservatives like to say the averages are the same, maybe to lessen the blow of there being more male geniuses, and lean more into the argument that the standard deviation is higher, the distribution is more irregular, the "more geniuses and r*tards" argument. but in reality, the averages are different too. every way you measure it there's a difference. yes it's true that men have a flatter bell curve, more men at the high and low ends of the intelligence spectrum. but it's also true that the mean IQ for men is 9 points higher than the mean IQ for women. there are WAY more men above 135 IQ. and while it's also true that there are more men below 80 IQ than women below 80 IQ, the factor there is not nearly as large as the factor for above 135 IQ. so the ratio of male geniuses to female geniuses is far higher than the ratio of male morons to female morons. and it's not just the tails of the spectrum, the outliers, because it's not just the mean IQ that is higher for men. it's also the median IQ. that's why the average IQ for men is not 100. 100 is, by definition, the average of the nation's population (or the world population, in some studies), but if you take all the male scores and find the median, it's about 102, whereas the female median is about 98. now if you were only measuring men, you'd get a median of 100 of course, since 100 is by definition the average IQ (IQs are defined relative to each other). but because you're measuring the general population, and then pulling men out of that dataset after they've already been scored relative to the general population, you're able to see the difference. women's score is 98 _because_ men's score is 102. together they average out to 100. and because we're talking about medians, not means, this is not explained by the outliers (more male geniuses). that certainly is significant, and that's why the male mean is so much higher than the female mean, by about 9 points instead of just 4 (depending on the study). but even on the median there's a 4 point gap, and that can only be explained by systematic differences across the board. and this is about what we should expect, for many reasons. testosterone is a neurosteroid, for one. men have had different evolutionary pressures than women, and it's possible for humans to evolve traits in one sex specifically, due to the existence of the Y chromosome. a trait coded for by a mutation on the Y chromosome will be expressed exclusively in men. it's already known that there are genes on the Y chromosome that influence intelligence. in fact, there are more intelligence-associated loci on the Y chromosome than on any other chromosome. so it's not all that surprising that the medians would be different. but certainly testosterone alone would be enough to explain the difference. testosterone levels are associated with IQ differences between individual men (i.e. men with higher levels tend to have higher IQs), so why wouldn't they also explain IQ differences between men and women in the aggregate? of course, these are relatively small differences, whether you're looking at the median or the mean. 4 points or 9 points, that's a trifle compared to racial differences for example. so I wouldn't say this really justifies anything. gender roles and traditions aren't justified by IQ differences, they're far more fundamental and complex than the incidental fact that men are a tiny bit smarter than women on average. they have less to do with intelligence and more to do with disposition. and however large the intelligence gap is between men and women, it pales in comparison to the disposition gap, which is truly staggering. I said the racial IQ gap is much bigger than the gender IQ gap (it's about 15-25 points between black and white in the US, for example, depending on whether you categorize Hispanics and Arabs as white), and I do think that is politically and socially significant and should inform political decisions on matters like immigration or affirmative action. but it's pretty trivial in comparison to the disposition gap between men and women. the races may also have a slight disposition gap, and certain an IQ gap, but if you compared a black man, a white man, a black woman, and a white woman, and tried to categorize them based on behavior, interests, and general disposition, while there would certainly be racial differences, they would be microscopic compared to the astronomical differences between the men and the women. and we would be crazy not to factor that into our political calculations.

They can't think for a moment their own unhappiness is sourced from their own bad decisions. Their entire argument jumps so many times they barely have a coherent point. They think throwing everything at the wall hoping it will stick and switching their arguments evertime one fails, even if it contradicts their previous statements. In short, they're trying to win and by winning they think their choices are defended. How they get that W is of little consequence.

My know-it-all cousin who's a few years older than me went to local uni years ago after graduating high school and of all majors he could've chosen he chose English. During those years he was in uni he was unbearable to be with, he would try to grammatically correct every other sentence and act even more know-it-all compared to when he was in high school. He just had anger in his heart, thats what pointless degrees along with schools do - put students in a low vibrational state where they think like communists. I would learn years later his major and i thought no wonder he would angrily correct my English all the time. He also did sign back up to UNLV when he heard that i went to it, so he can somehow one up me but he immediately dropped out so he is still paying off the debt. He even told me when i was in uni, "yeah I'm going to study Computer Science." He has the mind of a 12 year old and the ego of an 8 year old who never seems to grow up. Hes also a mommas boy, even still being close proximity to his mom even though hes 33 years old.

Physcial labor, emergency plumbing, Red Eye puddle jumpers, truck driving, etc... not going to pretend there aren't other factors. As a short, more softspoken male, I often get overlooked for supervisor/manager positions. There are natural biological stigmas as well as traditional or racial/gender biases. We are humans. @@jareddembrun783totally agree. My parents divorced when I was in 3rd grade. And ever since, I’ve known I would’ve better off if they stayed together and worked through their marriage issues. I’m 26 now. Divorce isn’t even an option in my marriage. My dad wasn’t even absent after the divorce, he was around for all my sports events, choir events, Boy Scouts, you name it. that and the men in my religious community are the reasons I turned out ok. But Defiantly not without immense struggle, compromise, and sacrifice. I was robbed of my childhood being the oldest. Many activities I wanted to do in middle and highschool I couldn’t participate in, because we couldn’t afford it, or because my new responsibilities to my brothers and mom prohibited it. Divorce in my eyes, is NEVER an option.

Not only that but there is a curve of marital satisfaction and many couples divorce at the bottom of the curve, when a majority of very good years are ahead. People think divorce will solve the dissatisfaction, but typically it doesn't go away any faster than if they stayed married and waited for their lives to improve.

If there is a study saying homemakers are also less happy than previously, it’s probably because we’re mostly raising our children in isolation with no other mothers around. My grandma says, she and her neighbours used to drink their coffee on the stairs while all the children played outside. All my neighbors are always at work, and their children at daycare. Additionally, society does not value my contribution or respect/understand my choice to prioritise my children.

@@beastness501 No, this is wrong Actually, if you take a random person in streets, it is more likely that the man will have a higher iq Even if we assume that men and women have the same average iq, a lot of men are in prison and so on, and men who do crime tend to be on the low iq side on average, so for the general population in public, men will have more average iq. Now this is under the assumption that men and women have the same average iq, but actually a lot of studies show that after age 15, men start to have better iq scores, they attribute this to the fact that men hit puberty later compared to women. I expect men to have higher iq on average in their late teens and after, and of course as we know, they have more variability, so the people with iq over 170 are nearly all men.

@@Bishop3k if you are picking absolutely at random, is "undertandable" to understand that what you get in the bell curve if you cut it in the points where, IQ is too low for averrage or too high for the average, you get a highers distribution of women than men, and if you cut it only the "too high for the average", you will get that when picked at random is more likely to pick a women than a man with average IQ, not everybody knows how to read graphs and is specially misleading when the bell curve for IQ is shown to be symmetrical in most places.

Love this comment and agree 100%. Marriage is not a government contract. Marriage is a covenant with God and He never breaks His covenants. @@BasedOnATrueStory_I would hope that each person would spend a significant amount of time getting to know the other person before marrying so hopefully they would be aware of the abusive tendencies. I would argue abuse is not a reason to break the marriage covenant. A successful marriage is held up by the community around it. The community around the marriage should deal with the abuse and correct it.
