There 100% needs to be a domestic abuser registry like there is for sex offenders. Dating sites should require reporting and it should be disclosed to the other partner at the time of marriage license application.

I know this would be logistically complicated but dating sites should require a background check. With AI and other technological advances im sure it could be possible without it being too complex. It's crazy how many crimes have happened using dating sites as a means to commit some crimes.

Additionally the absolute terror would cover if it was only just yourself you had to be concerned about. But then you add family to it. These type of people will know where your family live, your mother, father, siblings, nieces and nephews, add friends to this. They are all on the persons mind and they have to in their mind protect others by treading so carefully on these eggshells. I could not imagine having a child with a monster to add to this along with shared custody. You would be stuck between the mind of - "this man is a horrible example to my children and should not be around them as he may hurt them" and "Children need to know their father, people will judge me if I don't allow him to see them. Fathers mean so much to little girls and surely, it was only aimed toward me.." So awful :'( and so so scary

It's a BIG problem within the court system that they believe parents have more rights then children. If a parent has a history of DV towards a parent in front of the children. It's safe to say that parent isn't going to be safe for the kids to be around. So the courts force visits with the Abuser(no matter the gender). The system I easily manipulated and they don't do through investigations. Thus putting the children at risk.
@nhmooytis7058

When my friend first experienced DV by her alcoholic husband she distinguished between him ‘shoving’ her vs ‘hitting’ her, willing to forgive the former. I told her it would escalate and it did, fortunately she split before he could harm their daughter. Sadly however when the girl got older he convinced her her mother was the baddie and after college she went to live with him!

100% Psychologically, aggression is aggression. It is not compartmentalized into neat categories; people resist the urge to act aggressively towards certain people because of the consequences they predict would happen if they harmed those specific people, but that is NOT the same as having no feelings of aggression towards them. If someone can beat their spouse, they can beat their children. Not to mention the fact that watching one parent beating the other is traumatic and a form of abuse all on its own. *Spousal abuse harms the children as well. Always.*

In my 25+ years of life; I’ve only seen my parents actually *argue* like 3 times, if that. My dad is so incredibly kindhearted that I cannot fathom a life with a man this evil sharing my DNA. I know I am lucky, but it’s so sad for that to be considered “lucky”. *Every* child should should be wanted and loved by their parents. Cases like this should be unheard of.

My uncle murdered my biological grandmother, his mother, and when the representative of the court walked in to communicate with the family, everyone was sitting on the side of the prosecution. Apparently the young lady walked in and did a double take before saying, "Oh, This will make my job easier." I have said in the past, and I say it again, if the family is united against the defendant, there is VERY good reason for it. I have no doubt that this man has a history known ONLY to the family, and it is likely more dark, brutal, and extensive than was treated in this video. The ONLY reason that Mary Jane was u.aware that he was a threat to her daughters I'd that she was generally ignorant of his history, and there might even be questions as to how much the prior ex knew, considering she also let her daughter be with him. My uncle took great pains to keep his ex-wives away from the family lest the women should discover his lengthy patterns of abuse.

In my country you have to show a document extended by the police department and the ministry of justice with your entire criminal history detailed before you can get legally married. If you can't get it, the civil court can ask directly for your criminal history as an alternative. Sure there's some people that slip through the cracks, but it's better than having nothing.

Your question about people's records being given to subsequent partners is actually quite good on 2 fronts. From close hand experience, I know who nearly died from a violent offender being bailed to his address, he said if he'd know the charge he would not have accepted him to livd there, this person now suffers permanent brain damage from the subsequent incident. On the second angle, it would encourage people to report more domestic abuse, because there's a direct correlation between what happened to one person and protecting the next
